I tend to agree with you. The propaganda coming out of the ME is being manipulated by those who can take advantage.
Internationalists have always left to fight in foreign lands out of family connections, religious belief or political belief. How just the cause only history can tell. How different are these people than those who went to Spain? I don’t know.
My biggest concern are those who survive and return to Canada with combat experience and a resolve to continue their revolution. I can only hope that Jason Kenney continues tightening access to Canada. I hope that Canada does not get sucked into some Syrian adventure. Canada does not have a dog in this fight and should not be there. There was no reason to be in Libya either but we were.
I would argue it is in Canada’s self interest to see the ME go up in flames. It would secure the future of oil sands development!
