  1. Of course most of those countries are Quebec’s immigration base.
Time to start deportations – free the Canadian Aboriginal of Quebecois tyranny!

  2. Dang.I’m getting a 404 link error trying to get to the contest page.
If anyone should name a fish, it should be me.

  3. “We have almost a third of the population of Canada, I’d think that companies would want to market to us.”
7,903,001 of 33476,688. A third? Math is hard.

  4. Good one Scar. I’m willing to bet there isn’t more than a handful of Quebec residents who are aware that Quebec no longer constitutes 1/3 of the Canadian population.

  5. Jeeze, Louise, even as a kid, when I used to enter all the sweepstakes on the cereal boxes, it always said something like “contest void in Quebec”. It’s been that way for a long time, back to the Duplessis days, at a guess.

  6. Regulations? Maybe. The sponsors of the contest might be worried about getting a visit from some good fellas employed in the Quebec construction industry…making them an offer they can’t refuse. In honor of Quebec’s current claim to fame and a classic movie, the new species should be named Luca Brasi (frenchified with some accents to comply with language laws, of course)

  7. Is there an Oscar or Clio category for which we could nominate the authors of the list of sponsors of state fish terrorism ?
The wave of zombie flix testifies to Haiti’s uncommon fondness for puffer fish of mass destruction, and Indonesian coelacanth imperialism has projected fleets of the beasts as far as the Comoros, where some must surely serve to fortify the Somali pirates cruising those waters .

  8. Luca here. Nice fish dat fancy geography outfit got dere. Be a shame if someone fried it.
