Y2Kyoto: Green Police

Like hand into glove;

A Mongolian neo-Nazi group has rebranded itself as an environmentalist organisation fighting pollution by foreign-owned mines, seeking legitimacy as it sends swastika-wearing members to check mining permits.
[…]
Based in an office behind a lingerie store in the Mongolian capital, the shaven-headed, jackbooted Tsagaan Khass stormtroopers launch raids on mining projects, demanding paperwork or soil samples to be studied for contaminants.
“Before, we used to work in a harsh way, like breaking down doors,” the group’s leader, Ariunbold Altankhuum, 40, told Reuters. “But now, we have changed and we use other approaches, like demonstrations.”On a patrol to a quarry two hours’ drive from the capital, members wore black, SS-style Nazi uniforms complete with lightning flashes and replica Iron Crosses.

  1. I’ve always liked the expression, “Enviro-Nazi”. Apparently, some of them do as well.

  2. This isn’t such a straightforward clear cut case of stupid neo-nazis as it may seem like from a civilized country like Canada with its strict environment protection laws.
    There in the 3d world countries where Mongolia belongs the mining operations run without regard for protection of the environment more often than not. Substances that leak from mining operations into the waterways used for drinking water can include just about any poisonous substance in the chemistry textbooks. Livestock and people die from all kinds of conditions down the water horizon and no one cares.
    Before we point finger and yell ‘Ha-ha!’ Simpsons style we gotta look at all components of the situation half world away, not at just one news bit.

  3. Yeah well, although I have a lotta trouble with Nazi regalia….the core of the issue is this group of enviro-nazi’s probably have a just cause.
    Chinese mining companies…..

  4. Very true….but the Chimp in Chief and his enviro-nazis are sending all the business there by implementing stupid,expensive regulations.Yes sir. Power is 0.01 cents/kw in China, 0.25cents in Cali. And they do not have ObummerCare. Where will I start /move my business? Morontario maybe?
    Doubt it. You leftards need a clue bat.

  5. What you and Fred said.
    The name and the cause is a good fit when taken to extremes like it is here. Doesn’t matter how many people die for the cause, as in the Rachel Carson, DDT and malaria.
    That said, I suspect that some foreign mining interests may not be doing the business in as safe manner as possible for society.
