  1. My understanding is that the green lobby and bankrupt regional councils have been ganging up on Calif. Farmers for some time. First to go was irrigation water which is now rationed an restricted and cut off in southern areas. Now we see infrastructure going to pot. Agriculture in Calf. used to be a 20 billion dollar a year industry but since Calif. became mismanaged by metrosexuals with dystopic values, agriculture is seen as a earth-damaging industry akin to mining or forestry.
Just another example of how urban-centric neurotics who run the place are too detached from reality to realize where their food comes from.

  2. Sonoma county doesn’t have the money to keep the roads in good shape. I’d guess that they have plenty of money to pay welfare and other benefits to people without checking whether they’re in the country legally, and plenty of money for things like commissions on diversity or the status of women, though.

  3. A quick drive through El Centro California will show you where the food is NOT coming from anymore. The USA outsourced all its manufacturing to China in the 1990’s, in the 2000’s it outsourced most of California’s food growing capacity to Mexico, Peru, Chile etc.
Most of the Imperial Valley is a shut-down ghost town these days. Without irrigation and agriculture there’s a fairly good chance the whole thing will turn into a titanic dune field, like the area around Glamis.
Two things are going to happen in California. Its as inevitable as gravity.
First, the rich people are going to stop giving money to the DemocRats. If Mr. Hollywood Millionaire can’t drive his Lambo because the streets in Malibu are too potholed, he’s going to adjust his political affiliations to whoever will fix it.
Second, all these public service unions are going to be outlawed. If the -stunningly- wealthy people in Sonoma county can’t get their roads fixed, they will most certainly arrange for that situation to get turned around. Unions have 100% cause this situation, so they will be broken. They will not go peacefully, but they will go.
I will watch the Hollywood carbecues with vast enjoyment.

  4. We can wish.
Occam and Iowa Jim also have it right.
This is what people eventually get when they vote for utopian socialists.
    Just Atlas Shrugging once again.

  5. The roads are always first to go in any socialist regime. Used to be the difference in roads between AB and SK were like night and day.
That difference is gradually becoming less pronounced, and it isn’t because SK roads have improved to any great degree.

  6. We have few reasons to feel superior here in Canada.
The current tax set up creates abusive behaviour from our servants.
If we starve the Fed and pay a flat tax locally, the 10% solution, we will have local access to the people handling our public assists.
Right now, roads do not get fixed but scenic pathways and roadside beautification proceed.
The reason given by local councillors;”The Feds are giving us the money, with time limits”.
My solution is we pay 10% to local council,They pay only 10% of that public pot to the Province/territory, the Province pays only 10% to Fed.
We get control of our own money, local politics matter again, the provinces have money for their own priorities, the bloated bureaus starve.
    Whats not to like.
For example welfare can only be kept honest at a local level, we have 40 years real proof of this.
Healthcare is not delivered by bureaucrats, currently medical people are disrespected and suffocated by “administrators”.
Policing can only work with the cooperation of the public.
Evidence is in, 60 years of Social engineering by idiots and daydreamers, the result ?
All levels of govt are in breach of contract.
Money taken, promises made, promises can not be kept.
Try doing that in private business.
