Reader Tips

In tonight’s musical oddity en route to the Tips, a teenage pop star who would later change his name to Yusef Islam sings a catchy little number about engendering respect through the threat of lethal force: From 1967, here’s a young Cat Stevens (born Steven Demetre Georgiou) singing I’m Gonna Get Me A Gun.
The comments are open, as always, for your Reader Tips.

  1. I’m a fan and viewer of the Sun News Network.
Something made me wonder what became of Jacqui Delaney who used to host one of the segments (I always thought she was competent and refreshing), but mysteriously disappeared from the network. A search came up with this interesting link:
    http://blog.fagstein.com/2012/04/18/sun-news-network-review/
It’s actually an analysis of SunNews by a left-leaning Montreal based blogger (he might be a radical leftist blogger for all I know- I’ve never heard of him!), but he does give a comprehensive summary of its birth, raison d’etre, growing pains, programming, and bio/critique of all its personalities, some generous but often presented with an air of disdain, particularly if religion or ethnicity is featured.
It’s a lengthy read in its entirety, but is segmented and laid out so it can be easily skimmed and only relative points of interest selected if preferred. To get deeper, there’s a myriad of links. The comment section at the end is worth reading.
At any rate, more ammo against the msm and libranos.

  2. Re: I`m going to get me a gun.
Should we blame Islam, or the people who made the decision to pay that little gigolo to sing on TV!!

  3. They managed to find the one 9-year-old who doesn’t want to eat at McDonalds.
Is she or is her mom an actual shareholder? If not, how did they get in to the shareholders meeting?
“She and her mom, who blog together about healthy foods for children, were at the meeting along with the watchdog group Corporate Accountability International.”
This probably means it’s not really a health issue, it’s an anti-corporate issue.

  4. Ha ha for better or for worse my son will never be able to eat any fast food ever again thanks to his celiac disease but if it weren’t for that I would not hesitate to take him to a burger joint in moderation. Along the same leftist anti-“corporate” lines there’s some anti-GMO protest happening in Victoria soon and I’m guessing it’s a national deal.

  6. Your son caught celiac disease from fast food?
    Can you be more specific?
What fast food is contagious for celiac disease?

  7. Nof60…….you off your meds again? Where did creapingdeath say his son caught(?) celiac disease? Where did you catch stupid??? And that girl’s parents should be turned in for child abuse for brain washing her.

“Lord Stern first warned the Government of the cost of climate change in his 2006 Stern Report, said that for the last decade global warming has remained stable.”
It’s a blooper. Gotta be. It’s not fair. It stinks. (sarc off)

  10. “HANSON: The end of ‘hope and change’”
“Obama promised a new age but it feels a lot like 1973”
“In then-Sen. Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, he ran to the left of Hillary Rodham Clinton as a moral reformer. Mr. Obama promised to transcend the old politics and bring a new era of hope-and-change transparency to Washington. Five years later, those vows are in shambles.”
““Hope and change” is fast becoming the 1973 Nixon White House.”
