  1. Not unexpected,but still disturbing.
Our national news source has closed down comments to ALL stories on the IED bombings in Boston.Basically they are saying,”this is the news”, STFU.
A billion dollars a year, and you only get James Moore.

  2. ‘Our national news source has closed down comments to ALL stories”
Sorry, I was wrong, the comments are back up.They are only censoring most comment about the IED’s in Boston.

  3. The Hatred of Maggie (Thatcher) …. that’s why the left and establishment right were ready to use any and all means to stop Palin.

  4. Incidentally, I’d like to thank the media at large, all of them, for making really really sure that everybody in the entire f-ing world now knows how to make a serious bomb out of a pressure cooker. Just what we all needed, right?
No link, because that would be counter productive. Besides, its -everywhere-.
    Way to go, geniuses.

  5. andycanuck:
Its hard to tell, but I don`t think that he is the bomber. Do you think he`d stay in the area? I doubt it. This is the work of amateurs.

  6. Obama stimulus funds used illegally to lobby for tax hikes, anti-obesity measures

The CPPW was an initiative funded by President Obama’s economic recovery program, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and was meant to be used for public education and job creation efforts.

But the CofA probe found that “CPPW money went to support lobbyists and public relations companies who used taxpayer dollars to push laws and agendas that would lead to tax increases on tobacco and high calorie products — essentially transforming the CPPW program into a conduit for lobbying for higher taxes on tobacco and bans on otherwise legal consumer products.”

At least four federal laws and regulations were broken in response to the CDC actions, including the federal Anti-Lobbying Act “that prohibits the use of money appropriated by Congress to influence, ‘an official of any government, to favor, adopt, or oppose, by vote or otherwise, any legislation, law, ratification, policy, or appropriation,'” according to CofA.

They must have learned this from the Liberals here in Canada. Supporting lobbyists who pushed their agenda with public money was business as usual.

  7. In other news, the tales told in the MSM about the young Nova Scotians marked for sacrifice to the great god Pierre Trudeau and his begotten son Justin grow taller by the day.
Apparently now they go around stabbing the partisans of poor miss Parsons just for fun. Why, even the local RCMP live in terror of a few boys barely old enough to shave. Neat trick, considering they’re only armed with pepper spray and not one has a powerful father with Librano connections able and willing to rob their victims of every penny they have if they don’t deliver groveling apologies to be printed online, and promise forthwith and forever to never breathe another word against his boy the future cabinet minister.

Back in the world the rest of us live in, where neighbours who ought to know better have turned on each other, the families of the boys no longer dare answer their doors. Some of the boys have fled the village for fear of reprisal. The mob organized by the Libranos “want blood,” say locals (their words, not mine). If that’s not prima facie evidence of bullying, intimidation and terror, those words have no meaning.

  8. EBD, thanks for the video, although we did not go through the city quite that fast on the two occasions we have visited there. We visited every location shown in the video. It brought back a lot fond memories. If you are a history buff like I am, you could vividly imagine the revolutionary events of March, the attempted Bolshevik coup in the July days, and the victorious Bolshevik coup in October 1917.
The last time we were there, in 2010, we visited the Peter and Paul Fortress for the second time, and noticed some fresh diggings on the common of the fortress. Shortly after we got home I discovered that the diggings had unearthed a mass grave of 80 people that were executed in October 1917. Marxism is so touchy, feeely.
Regarding the hatred of Margaret Thatcher, the radical left, and that includes a number of today’s feminists, hate anyone that obstructs their march to victory.

  9. So-called “St” Petersburg was built on the bones of Ukrainian forced labour.
I hate it when the BBC et al glorify this city and do not understand how this city came to being and how many people died in it’s creation with not their cooperation.
The Russians to this date do not acknowledge that this city was built with forced labour that was not Russian.
I think it is time this is acknowledged — but hey Tsar Putin does not acknowledge the role of the Soviet Union in the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. Funny how this is not acknowledged in the new publically funded Museum in Winnipeg. Funny how when it comes to Ukrainians this is forgotten.

“Europe’s once celebrated cap-and-trade system to limit carbon emissions has languished. The economic crisis has caused the price of emissions licenses to plummit, and a recent remedy to the problem has been rejected by EU lawmakers. Climate policy expert Felix Matthes tells SPIEGEL ONLINE an opportunity has been squandered.”

    “Pressure cooker bombs”
“The vessel has long been favoured by bomb-makers in Afghanistan because it can be rigged into a cheap but murderously effective anti-personnel device.”
“How common is its use as a bomb?
According to US government guidance for security officials in 2004: “A technique commonly taught in Afghan terrorist training camps is the use/conversion of pressure cookers into IEDs [improvised explosive devices]”. An update in 2010 records that pressure cooker bombs have been frequently used in Afghanistan, India, Nepal and Pakistan.
Who do the bombers target with such devices?
Taliban bombers in Afghanistan have placed pressure cooker bombs along paths expected to be used by US troops on foot patrol, an the US defence news website Defensetech says. One of the deadliest attacks outside Afghanistan occurred in Mumbai in 2006, when seven pressure cooker bombs tore through trains in the Indian city, killing at least 186 people and injuring 700. Timers had been attached to the bombs, which were put into bags and concealed with newspapers and umbrellas.”

“EU carbon trading collapses, coal cheap as dirt”
“Carbon trading is over in Europe and the EU’s policy on climate change is in complete disarray. The European Parliament on Tuesday killed a proposal to rescue the moribund EU carbon trading system (ETS) by refusing to postpone the issue of a further 900 million allowances. The news that nothing would be done to stop the flood of additional permits to issue greenhouse gases caused the price of EU allowances (EUAs) to fall to below €3 ($4.04) per tonne, a level at which it makes little sense to do anything except buy wagonloads of cheap coal and burn it.”

  13. Gerry, yes millions of Ukrainians were killed by Russians over a period of three centuries, primarily in building St. Petersburg and in building the “New Soviet Man”. The Lithuanian/Polish alliance also killed countless Ukrainians during the 17th and 18th centuries, as did the Ottomans in their attempt to subjugate south Ukraine.
However, many other minorities were also killed during the years of Russian domination, and particularly during the Soviet years, including many of my wife’s and my extended family members. Just as an aside, some Ukrainian radicals also killed or attempted to kill many of my wife’s family members during the years 1917-1920, but we do not hate Ukrainians. On the contrary, we are happy that they are now a free country, with considerable unprecedented personal freedom, with a few political freedom worts, and have enjoyed visiting there and interacting with them, and wish them future freedom.
We also wish continued progress to the Russian people in their quest for freedom of the individual. In some ways they are now more free than we are here.
Over thousands of years, many nationalities all over the world are guilty of the “Russian” crimes and have also been victims. So, which nationality does one include in this museum and which does one exclude. Maybe this museum was a bad idea to begin with.

“Quebec’s maple-syrup syndicate is cracking down on rogue sugar shacks, seizing the sweet-tooth assets of producers who are alleged to be flouting the province’s strict regulation of sap.
Steve Côté, owner of a 450-acre spread in the Eastern Townships south of Sherbrooke, was stunned Tuesday morning to see a bailiff and three men in two tractor trailers pull in with a court-approved order to seize his entire 2013 production: about 100 barrels and several boxes containing hundreds of cans.”
