Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

As the owner of a Pioneer amp myself, I take umbrage with the salacious review of the knobs of a comparable unit.
Okay, you win. You really did find the end of the internet (or at least David Thompson did). Mind you, there will be someone invoking rule #34 which would signal the end of human intelligence.
I think Obama will now slap tax your knob feel.
Is nothing sacred?
I had a Luxman r1120 receiver back in the day, the one with the giant tuning dial / knob in the center, the damping I’d describe as a B, while the glide.. the ease and smoothness with which one could traverse the range of tuning from the bottom of the scale to the top was easily A+ … unrivaled without going to either of the Tandberg (excellent, but somewhat fragile) or McIntosh $ lines. It was of course an alloy that had been grooved so as to not pick up debris / fingerprints.
Lesser manufacturers often made the *gain* knob the larger one, while ignoring that it is the tuning dial that needs be the larger.
For those that are looking to upgrade or personalize their old turntable, I’ve recently found this guy in Florida, who sells his own version of the very good Rega turntable (I’ve kept my old Rega 2…) with a personalized touch. The Bushmills line is seriously under consideration.

Barky, is a Rega table with his own customized body, I thought it was just the thing for Canadians.
Here’s the Bushmills version of that table… it doesn’t appear to be on his regular site now..

I’d like to see the same sort of videos done with bolt actions.
