  1. Politics aside, I wouldn’t hire Justin Trudeau to sell pencils. Can you imagine the attack it would be on reality if Trudeau and Obama were ever in the same room?

  2. The “We love our version of Michelle” and the drooling statements in the article about JT being somehow a different style of politian were scary enough. The G&M comments were worse. I guess a lot of people really do value bling over substance. It has been said that the 19th century was the age of discourse, with people discussing ideas. The 20th century was the age of entertainmnet, with people becoming more passive in their thinking, and media dictating people’s ideas. Too early to tell about the 21st, but it is not lookin’ good.

  3. Of these two twits become Canada’s first couple .. Canada may enjoy a return to the Hippie Days of the late 60s only with Muslim terrorists this time around. Nothing that a good yoga class won’t take care of ….. Should be good.

  4. You only have to watch the Hollywood tabloids flying off the shelves in super markets to get a feel for where the public’s heads are! Call me cynical but that is the reality.
As an aside what do we hear in B.C.? “I should have thought more before I voted against the HST.” Two takeaways; 1) A populace without a capacity for critical thinking, and 2) politicans without enough conviction (or guts) to stand up for what they believe.

  5. The other day I read that Shiny Pony attracts big crowds in rural Alberta and Saskathcewan. Now WK says “He attracts fans in the thousands, even in previously hostile territory like rural Western Canada.” Have any of you seen evidence of the Shiny Pony attracting legitimate crowds in rural Western Canada? Or, does Saanich qualify as rural Western Canada?

  6. Aside from struggling through the fawning sycophancy in this partisan propaganda piece (similar to North Korean media making deities of political figures) – I saw this – “it helps to be married to Justin Trudeau, for whom the old rules don’t apply”
I’m left trying to decipher this coded sycophant media message. Does this mean we will be seeing a cooperative effort by the partisan consensus media to excuse those heritors of PET royal jelly from the rules to which they bind other mere mortals?
Or are they telegraphing that the old talk-lots-say-nothing political baffle gab has been repackaged and repopularized by the hoser royal heirs and the media will never question, let alone decipher for us, the endless strings of cliched banalities JT and Mrs. JT spew out at every photo-op and sound bite? I mean he is a drama teacher – we are seeing plenty of 3rd rate method acting with disjointed ad hoc dialogue from JT which leave the thinkers in the audience saying – “what the heck is that supposed to mean?”
I think we better brave for the Canadian consensus media taking an active role in this lame duck’s political career.

  7. Remeber, with WK and the rest of the horde on the left
    “The ends justify the means”
This is all about say and do anything to regain control for the backroom boys (Power Corp, Desmarais, Mao Stlong, etc) The Shiny Pony is their latest vehicle, isn’t he just dreamy?
He is dangerous, because he has the same wow factor amongst the same crowd that ZERO has. And that is the low-information soccer moms, the mushy middle “whatever” voter, and the young, pseudo-intellectual snowflakes that usually skip out on elections, but he can bring them in. Do not underestimate the exploitation of that factor.
I would rather see see Joyce Murray win the nomination, she self-identifies as a moonbat, where the Pony is keeping his inner moonbat quiet.

  8. Idiot leftie husband = idiot leftie wife. Sounds about right.
As for real journalism, it is long since dead. The Globe and Mail has become nothing other than a propaganda machine for Trudeau. No different than the media and their embarrassingly obvious support of Obama.

  9. I don’t know about you, but I’ve told my fund managers to invest in Asia. Regardless of the corruption and cronyism, at least reality still rules there. And having read some of the G&M comments, gold is starting to look pretty good too.

  10. I’m not sure which is more worrisome, Sophie’s ‘fridge magnet’ wisdom or the commentators on the article who accept her vacuity as wisdom.

  11. Not long ago this would have been a hit piece, an exposé of an opponent’s ditzy, air-head wife, calculated to make you ask “what kind of man would marry that flake?” These days it passes for approval, effectively showcasing how her weirdness connects with a room full of young female teachers. Times sure have changed.

  12. As if anyone in their right mind would be interested in sharing another turdo. She can keep her kitten type husband to herself! The lisping child of 40 has the mental mind set of a ten year old; just like the guy in the Whitehouse. If a handsome, intelligent man like Stockwell Day can be routed out by faux ridicule in msm, this little rice krispie kid is a cakewalk.

  13. “…she laughs an uproariously independent laugh.”
See now that is just good journalism right there.
Allemang is actually mocking her, right? He has to be.

  14. Well, to be honest, I was more interested in some of the links off the article, including:
    1. The report from Google on the most searched names in Canadian politics in 2012 — Stephen Harper was number one, with fifty-percent-plus more searches than the 2nd place guy, Mr. Trudeau.
    2. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/trudeau-wades-into-language-law-tuition-fees-during-quebec-tour/article8821802/
Which is pretty much back to the Trudeau future, where we set the federal Liberal Party and the Quebec separatists as two sides of the same coin, with both engaged in a condominium arrangement for mutual political advantage, whereby they threaten each other in public in order to provide threatrical cover for an on-going, expanding and not quite transparent cash flow system that takes money from English-speaking Canada and gives it to Quebec, ostensibly to promote “national unity”. Yawn.
    3. At the bottom of the article at point 2. above are links to articles on Trudeau’s position on pipelines and his position on the NDP “Unity Act” bill. I didn’t read the pipeline article, because I was just about asleep after reading about the NDP “Unity Act” bill position thingee — wherein Mr. Trudeau appears to be more concerned about the damage that Mr. Scott’s private member’s bill would due to the prospect of Liberal-NDP co-operation than about the damage it would do to, you know, the country. But, I guess since the Clarity Act was really inspired by the private member’s bill of former Reform MP Stephen Harper (see William Johnson’s biography), it’d be okay if Mr. Trudeau didn’t really have a position on the Clarity Act.
Regardless, I don’t really have anything against Ms. Gregoire’s somewhat, er, esoteric pronouncements, but I’m not sure what they have to do with Canadian politics. My wife likes Yoga, but I haven’t noticed much increase in her level of sympathy for the Liberal Party or Mr. Trudeau (whom she thinks is in way over his head) since she’s been participating in it.
It’s ironic, though, that once again we find a contact point between elements of Ontario’s education system and a member of this couple — and it doesn’t seem very likely that Ms. Gregoire’s appearance at what must have been a Dalton McGuinty deficit-funded professional development day (where you do Yoga? Really? Are you kidding me?) was free of charge.

  15. drama teacher marries drama queen, would make a great chapter in Little House on the Prairy
SSSH…”The enviro-labour-islamo coalition that bought the media and elected Obama”
uhm, soros, alinski, axelrod, Rahm, and the statisically significant # of Jooish jurnolists does not an islamist make. Your type of “spin” is exactly what the lefties are good at, so one has to wonder how much they pay you????

  16. David…I found that story interesting as well, especially in light of the fact that when I click ‘Google news’ it’s all lib-left fluff, so I always proceed to google “PM Harper” in order to find out what he is has been up to that day.
Obviously by their practice of omitting news headlines about PM Harper, they have contributed to us googling him more often. Ha.
Also since we are talking about www, PM Harper clearly has made an impression outside of Canada, much to the dismay of CBC, google and lefties.
WRT to Mrs. Justine, sadly she is the MO that shallow Candians are craving.

  17. The “child within”? The “purity of his blood”? I’m sorry, but am I the only one whose skin is crawling right now? Authenticity? Really? You can’t get more middle class and white bred than that! It only makes sense that her disciples would be Ontario teachers. LMFAO

  18. Don’t be too confident about JT’s efforts in Quebec running into trouble. PM Brian Mulroney got back to back record majortities by getting into bed with the separtisits. His buddy Bouchard later went on to led the BQ.

  19. Say, what do you suppose would have happened to Stephen Harper if Laureen had said similar things at a similar point in his career?

  20. A few more examples like this and the average Canadian will know more about the wife of the Spawn of Satan than they do of Mrs. Harper. Unfortunately, I followed the link and I now fall into that category. The media arm of the institutional left is at play here, softening up the voters for their pick in the next election.
Joyce Murray, aside from being the Spawn’s intellectual superior (not a challenge), would gladly unite with the NDP and Greens under a watermelon ideological banner. That would be far more dangerous than allowing the Spawn to hopefully continue in the fine tradition of vote splitting.

  21. All I got from that fawning piece of fluff, was que up the Sex Pistols and She’s so Pretty.
    Vacant.

  22. ct said, “You only have to watch the Hollywood tabloids flying off the shelves in super markets to get a feel for where the public’s heads are! Call me cynical but that is the reality.”
That and the almost total detachment of most of the public to politics and what the parties stand for, as well as a growing entitlement mentality.
Reminds me of other civilizations during their last days. Living for the pleasurable moment.
John Chittick, you are absolutely right. The radical left joining forces would be the end of liberal democracy in Canada.
Frank Q, thanks for a little levity in a scary topic.

  23. Yo, NME666, what part of SSSH’s comment about “The enviro-labour-islamo coalition that bought the media and elected Obama” doesn’t fit? Are you suggesting Joos can’t be bought by islamos? Shiny Pony or Suckzuki’s girlfriend would be an ideal candidate for the leftoid ELIC (enviro-labour-islamo coalition). It seems preposterous now but in what universe did it seem rational that an unknown state senator would become POTUS. The BroncObama model can be easily applied in Canada. It’s already been used to elect Nenshi in Calgary and Redford in Alberta.

  24. Shiny Pony Watch, I’ve seen no evidence of crowds gathering to pay homage to the Great Liberal Hope here, but the anti-pipeline protest went nowhere, either. People in my town are struggling to make ends meet, not meeting to worship an ass.
Justin appears to have married his mother.

  25. “The “child within”? The “purity of his blood”?”
Yeah I noticed that as well; authentic blue blood worship. Who the hell are these people? Some kind of Kennedy spawn or something?

  26. At first while reading the article I alternately laughed and cringed at the unoriginal new-age flakiness. But by the end of the piece I had such a sinking feeling . . . we are looking at the next PM and his wife. This is the Celebrity Age. The Trudeaus are young and attractive and the media is already salivating over them. They’re Canada’s Obama and Michelle. Unfortunately.

  27. while pierre put up the bricks and Maggie laid the stones apparently frank zappa was over with her mom.

  28. Well, since you’ve mentioned it, I’d go with, “Cuckoo for Coco-Puffs (and a bit, you know, corpulent)”, myself — but no matter.
And quite apart from my wife being a psychiatric nurse who likes Yoga, and who regularly recommends Yoga to her clients as a way of relieving anxiety, while we were out this afternoon, walking our little Rottweiler, George (who is actually so small we call him “the Runtweiler”), I suggested to her (my wife, that is), that the Conservatives could actually have a bit of fun with this one:
    1. Why not have Michelle Rempel or Rona Ambrose (who, my wife asserts, practices Yoga every day), introduce a private member’s bill to proclaim a “Yoga Flyers Self-Absorption Day” (quoting directly, in the bill, the current Mrs. Trudeau’s remarks from the Mop and Pail article, including the ridiculous crying remarks from the un-named “questioner”)?
    2. Why not have the Conservatives do one of their direct-mail fundraising letters, which are excellent, in support of the bill (quoting it all directly), and let’s see if it doesn’t generate the largest one-time fundraising response in the history of the Reform Party, the Progressive Conservative Party or the Conservative Party?
But, then I thought…rather than Michelle or Rona, why not have one of the “big beefy boys” (as one or other of the MSM referred to several of the duly-elected Conservative MPs on the eve of the all-nighter budget implementation vote last May) dress up like George Galloway in the cat suit, and do the same thing?
She thought it would be very funny (my wife, that is)!

  29. Cripes. Forty years ago anyone who talked this kind of crap at least had kind of an excuse – they were stoned.

  30. “They’re Canada’s Obama and Michelle. Unfortunately”
God Lord …. what a depressing and utterly hopeless image that projects. It’s like being told that an asteroid the size of Texas is headed directly for my back yard.
I still put faith in the fact that Canadians as a whole have more common sense than the media gives them credit for.

  31. “I still put faith in the fact that Canadians as a whole have more common sense than the media gives them credit for” . . . oh I sure do hope so. But who would have guessed that the America we all knew growing up would have re-elected such a failure? We are becoming outnumbered by the voters who were raised in this vacuous celebrity culture and they are so brain-washable because of lousy education and constant left-wing propaganda from their teachers and profs.

  32. All the money required, the best network of connections in Canada and the very finest of the worlds schools at their disposal and the two of them are “Yoga instructor”, “Ultimate Frisbee Coach” and “Substitute Drama Teacher”.
    Be still my heart.

  33. Wish I wasn’t, Ken. I’ve been reading a lot of Kipling lately and these following lines come to mind when I think of the Harper years and all his government has been trying to do for with painstaking effort and toil for ever-suspicious Canadians ready to drop them on a single careless move or phrase; these lines come to mind when I think of the coming Liberal resurgence with its inevitable onslaught on our pocketbooks, its tax-and-spend destruction of the middle-class dreams of good people as Liberal cronies pocket wealth, the country’s foreign relations policies once more consisting of ‘neutrally’ stroking despots’ egos, and the nauseating media-fawning over the well-coiffed prince at the head that we will all have to constantly endure:
“Comfort, content, delight,/ The ages’ slow-bought gain/ They shrivelled in a night.”

  34. The grave yards of the world are full of armies that under estimated their enemy. If Obama could win then Justin could just as easy.
