  1. PROMINENT AMERICAN SCIENTISTS CALL FOR ECO-DICTATORSHIP UNDER UN RULE
“Some have argued that regulations are inherently coercive and cannot or should not exceed implied levels of public permission for such regulations. An alternative viewpoint is that governments can and even should move beyond existent levels of public permission in order to shift norms, allowing public sentiment to later catch up with the regulation”.

  2.    Dorner Manhunt Reveals Police Contempt for Public Safety
But we knew that here (about police contempt and gov contempt in general) in the USA already…

  3. Greenland ice SIMPLY WOULD NOT MELT in baking +8°C era 120k years ago

Scientists analysing ancient ice samples say that the Greenland ice sheet withstood temperatures much higher than today’s for many thousands of years during a period of global warming more than 120,000 years ago, losing just a quarter of its mass. It had been widely suggested – by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for instance – that any such warming would melt the entire sheet, leading to massive sea-level rises

But we now know that the Greenland ice was exposed to much greater heat for many thousands of years and lost only a quarter of its mass, so the models are evidently wrong and another IPCC doom warning has been consigned to the dustbin of history

  4. I see Gerry Adams, TD, leader of Sinn Féin/IRA, recently visited the States to have an operation for prostate cancer. His tab of nearly $40,000 was paid by Bill Flynn, former CEO of Mutual of America and notorious plastic paddy, IRA collaborator and bishop’s ring-kisser.
The private remarks by members Dáil Éireann on the matter, of course, revolved around whether expenses defrayed by others related to his visit to the States needed to be declared as contributions to Sinn Féin or as personal income. Nobody in a position to do much about it seemed to want to tackle the question of whether Adams merited any medical treatment at all that did not involve megadoses of sodium thiopental.
In other Irish health news, over 2000 British subjects died from symptoms related to republican terror. Adams has never been held to account for any murders carried out by the IRA.

  5. Shocking N. of 60! Albertans, I am sure, have no idea about who that Red all over gal, that they elected Premier, really is. She and her pals are quite the piece of work. This, if true, is very serious indeed.

  6. To complete my barrage of links I submit this final one that talks about the future of Canadian oil and Keystone XL . Remember what is said in that article the next time Lorne Gunter et al start squawking about how painless cap and tax would be. Fool. If we just stand our ground a little bit longer we will not have to give up a thing. Obama needs Keystone, desperately. It would be foolish to cave in now and give away the store, which is what cap & trade/carbon tax would be. Hold firm! And wise up Gunter. Your oil soaked underwear is showing.

  7. And the latest in two-tiered news coverage.
The CBC could not get enough of Theresa Spence and her merry band of pranksters a couple of weeks ago.
Now,their wacky hi-jinks are being buried in the Thunder Bay section. I wonder why that would be? Besides the obvious , it does allow them to say that they have covered the story if it goes south quickly.

  8. This is amusing, along the lines of the lady who swallowed a fly. .
The owner then decided it was a good idea to release one of his bulls to lure the young ‘un back — but the bigger bovine took off, too.
“The bull charged at a police cruiser, ramming it and climbing over it and did it several times,”
