Understandable,Cappy. If I was living in the USSA right now,and watching it go down,I would be pissed to.Oh wait.I am pissed, because as the USSA goes,so does Canuckistan.
MBA’s, Harvard graduates and Goldman Sachs elites.
Yes,you do have to explain it to them. Seems that the basket weaving and trans-sexual,women’s rights, and Islam is great courses they took, mean diddly squat.Math is hard,ya know(BTW. Do you have an email I could contact you at??Have some Q’a about investing)
errrrrrr…that would be Q’s…..preview…preview…preview
You can find my e-mail in my profile on my blog.
Yes, but how do you really feel Cappy?
An epic rant. Loved it, though the fact that everything you say is correct makes me sad. A great country is committing slow suicide through ignorance and self-neglect.
The Federal Reserve is a serous problem. No money can be issued without incurring debt. The system needs a major overhaul — and it will be painful.
As I have said before, the one won, so shut up. He got a 1% mandate. What really amazes me is just how impotent the 49.5% are that voted “Not Obama”. I always believed that ‘mericans were independent, rootin’ tootin’ individualists. Instead they look like whiny babies capable of bloviating on blogs and you tube but don’t want to confront the socialist tsunami that is engulfing their country. Turning things around and winning it back requires a plan, clearly communicated and constantly repeated. It’s damn hard work. It requires a leader that is prepared to fight. Within the Republican party that person does not exist. It requires people who are committed to the cause. Those people do not exist in the Republican party.
The best Prime Minister Canada never had was Preston Manning. He articulated a clear, confident, contrarian message to the Canadian public. It took 15 years of wandering in the wilderness for the conservative faction to get their act together and put Canada back on a better track. Preston could not get it done but he did get it started. The question that needs answering for every conservative leaning American is who is our Preston Manning and are you committed to the cause of winning your country back?
Aaron missed something. The stock market didn’t budget much because of the performance of the blue chips. They may not be making much in the US, but their offshore operations are doing well. Because of US tax laws, they’re not repatriating any of the profits generated. For the moment they’re being kept as retained earnings.
Yes, the US is running a currency ponzi scheme. Which is why so many of the blue chips and other industrials are moving more and more of their investment offshore. It’s the Japan disease all over again. Japan’s economy has spent 20 years in the tank even though their big corporations were mostly healthy and profitable.
I’m really beginning to get the feeling that we’re all scr*wed.
To quote Comic Ron White’s “Alert Status”:

As you were.
I’m firmly convinced that if the Fed and its clones told people that they could bring a dead pig back,to life, by poking peach pits, up its ass, they’d be a bunch of idiots investing in peach orchards. The truth is, the day to pay the piper is getting closer every day, and its inevitable.
Whoever it is, the program will inevitably start with the first rule of holes…
Uh oh. Somebody isn’t enjoying the decline.
Your problem Cap is that you are thinking economically and not politically. America is toast, if you want to get into power you have to buy your votes from stupid people and you have to do it with their money.America as it now stands is done for. All the Donk states are either bankrupt or well on their way. They will never be able to pay their bills or think through a viable economic recovery. The only tool they have at their disposal is theft. Just look at Canada:
Fwench scum in Quebec have done exactly what California did – the pissed away their money, they chose corruption instead of gov’t and when they couldn’t pay anymore – they started stealing from the rest of us in the form of ‘transfer payments’.
THAT is where Obutthole is headed next. ‘Have’ states are going to have to assist ‘have not’ states in the name of national unity and patriotism. (That actually flew for awhile with your idiot neighbours to the north – but they are slowly cluing in).
The idea isn’t to save America, Cap. The idea is to destroy it and hand the spoils to your cronies, be they Donks or Repubs.
Don’t forget to register your guns!
Since the Fed. is a private Bank you can rest assured they will keep blowing up the bubble, and what’s best for the economy takes a back seat to keeping the gravy train on track for the top elite. John F Kennedy was the last Potus that tried to reign in the Fed. and was assassinated 6 months later. The Fed….the Mob, who knows, and is there a difference ?

A word of caution…they shred more than paper….
There could be a wood chipper…..
Is Ok. My slit bunker is stocked with food and ammo and the first black Van coming down the drive way ………. I’ll hold them off until SDA re enforcement gets here.
Thank god my F-150 is grey! But be careful – it’s a dark grey….
B-but they’re TOP MEN. And they just need you to faithfully obey.
W are seeing the same smug oblivious self destructive optimism in Wall Street as we saw before the crash of ’28. All the same elements are in place all it will take to tumble the house of cards the US economy is today is either a forced monetary supply contraction to prop up a failing dollar or an interest increase to curb inflation. Navigating the US economy is like walking on glass yet you see these pigs in on Wall Street act as if phony bear markets and funny money will evade a collapse for ever
Our Ivy league college system failed us badly – to many Keynesians and too few Austrian school economics grads – or maybe too damn many greedy ethicless pigs feeding on the markets.

Only if you live in a big crowded city in America where the biggest income source is the government.
Captain Obvious strikes again. Regardless, there will be no big economic crash.
His little rebellion against being productive is all for naught.
BM…youv’e got to be kidding! Preston can take credit only for deflecting Western Canadian discontent away from its only real solution to eastern thievery! Getting the west out of CON-federation.
His dad too after taking over the Social Credit Party and redirecting its founding ideas was rewarded with a directership with the Bank of Montreal.
Heard rumors on the hill, that Quantitative easing may come to Canada.
With the dollar climbing excuse, lets them pad the pockets of the bankers and use the money to pay down some debit, and of course get re elected with bribes.
God help US.
An excellent rant Captain. My prediction is that most of the population won’t listen and then will claim to have been blindsided by the totally unexpected collapse which is is obvious to any individual who choses to do their own thinking.
The current US economy is the equivalent of a developer building houses in a flood plain and using, as a selling point, that the last “100 year flood” occurred 5 years ago and so people investments would be safe for at least 95 years.
One of the people you forgot to mention, Captain, is Nassim Taleb who’s been trying to make people aware of the extreme fragility of the current financial system. People assume that the statistics involved are from mediocristan whereas we really live in extremistan. When one expects black swans to mess up ones future and plans accordingly, then one is antifragile. Those who’ve been adherents of Murphy’s law prior to Taleb’s more rigorous treatment of the problem of uncertainty were antifragile without knowing they were.
To really enjoy the decline, one needs to leave the crowds of the large cities behind and head out into the country. While Fedex next day delivery services are still available I’m buying up all of the things I’ll need when things start to unravel. I’m making sure that the people around me are individuals I could live among when external reality forces itself into peoples lives in a big way.
Captain, if you want to enjoy the decline, just do so. The brainwashed multitudes who think that everything is business as usual won’t understand your rants and will continue to vote for politicians who promise them free stuff if elected. As the overwhelming majority of the population no longer produces anything concrete, they are under the delusion that reality can be changed just as easily as their CAD program can produce virtual objects. When this large a fraction of the population is totally disconnected from reality, then Gaia will engineer an appropriate black swan event to greatly reduce the number of individuals who have no idea how to interact with objective reality.
