  1. Q: In Canada, what’s the difference between a Caucasian Rabid Leftist and an Aboriginal member of Idle No More?
A: One pays income tax and the other does not. Other than that, not a damn thing.
Lorne Gunter’s most excellent column clearly explains the commonality between “traditional” Leftists and Aboriginal rabble-rousers. In both cases they:
    – Are complete hypocrites
    – Want all the benefits from Canadian society
    – Refuse to accept the corresponding responsibilities of living here
    – Refuse to be accountable for their own words & actions
    – Demand their own free speech rights but see nothing wrong with silencing those who disagree with them via the “R” word
    – Appear to extremely math-challenged
    – Feel not the slightest bit of gratitude towards tax-paying Canadians who subsidize their lifestyles
    – Generally dislike, it not hate, Canada and Canadians
    What a sorry lot.

  2. Over at the G&M they have an article showing pictures of the INM protesters.

One lovely fellow (pic 12),identified as Leo Marcel Neveu, has the word NATIVE tatooed on his neck. A quick google check and this article comes up on a Leo Neveu from Kamloops. The article ” Slasher denied bail ” is interesting. He slashed his own neck and arms after being denied bail. He was in court for assaulting his common-law wife.

I checked the fellow’s profile on something called “Badoo” and I do think that it is the same person, but without the tattoo. http://badoo.com/en-ca/01222270359
I’m glad to see that he has turned his life around.

  3. Rob Ford sucks. I hope he gets ousted.

The $9.4-billion operating budget relies on a 2% residential property tax hike, pours a heralded $6-million into arts programs, flatlines spending on police, while boosting the ranks of paramedics. The changes to the fire budget — after originally aiming to eliminate 101 vacant positions, the city will now fill 83 of those positions — keep a station at Runnymede open and five trucks that would have been pulled off the road in service.
He can only cave. It’s the conservative way.
Mike Del Grande agrees with me.

Harper is trying to destroy capitalism. Two good columns sum that up. Andrew Coyne would make a much better PM and conservative than Harper.

The government going into the venture capital business clearly marks the end of any idea of the Conservative Party of Canada as a market-oriented institution. Former right-wing firebrands Stephen Harper and Jim Flaherty used to be famous for their hidden libertarian agenda. To hide it even more effectively, it seems, they have now adopted classic left-wing industrial policies.

  4. Las:
such silliness. When Andrew coyne even manages to win a riding nomination let me know, otherwise you should take his opinions with a grain of salt and realize that AC has a political tin ear – one that has worsened over the years (he supported the liberals in the last federal election).
The Harper-led CPC is THE most Conservative party to ever hold a majority mandate. It has done many courageous and conservative things in a very brief period not the least of which looks to be a major reform of the native affairs dept.
Politics is about the possible and while the CPC has done what would have been thought miraculous just five years ago you and coyne keep expecting perfection rather than Savour what has been achieved thusfar.

  5. I’m sure every reader here knows that the UN is nothing but a haven for despots and nut bars. Suspects ?? Really ?? The UN is too busy pushing Agenda 21 to really give a damn about N. Korea as well as a lack of useful idiots to further their plans for world domination. The UN can’t brainwash people that are already brainwashed.

  6. LAS,
Harper is not trying to destroy capitalism. He’s not a consistent practitioner of it, that’s all (and I too think he should do better). He’s still far better than the alternatives. You should stop regarding the perfect as the enemy of the good.
I’m not totally sure about Coyne, but Corcoran / Foster / Watson at the Financial Post would make a great team to run the country in my opinion.

  7. @ LAS. re your 2nd link.Boy. Is somebody living in lala land. Just loooovvvveee that little graph that shows 9.433 billion in revenue, and only 9.433 billion in expenditures. hahahahahahha. Those clowns will be over 10 Billion so fast, anybody who blinks will miss them going over budget. But then. That’s the whole idea, regardless of which gubermint is in,isn’t it?

    feat”
“Yes, some of his allies abandoned him at the last moment. Yes, some of his rivals added in dollops of extra spending that he didn’t want. Yes, he had to give ground on the fire-department budget after a fear-mongering campaign from the firefighters’ union. But, all the same, Mayor Rob Ford can claim a considerable success with his 2013 budget – and he did.”

The link is from a very good site on Korean Peninsula issues. Fantastic reads and lots of information. No love for the UN there, I think!
