Why is it taking five years to build this monstrosity? Incompetence at all levels of management?
I recently worked on a $360 million construction project, a 300 room resort built on a mountain top,with a large number of specialty rooms,such as -30,-60-and -90 degree celsius cold rooms, saunas, hot tubs,pools,mud baths,etc. The whole place was completed in three years.

Personally …. I’d like to see criminal charges all around. Falsely claiming that forced donations of Manitobans money through MPI and MB Hydro were “private” funding contributions to the CMHR should have been enough to end it all then and there. This is Winnipeg for cryin’ out loud. Who in their right mind goes to Winnipeg for their vacation. The number of people going through this white elephant in the winter (6 months) wouldn’t even pay the heating bill. If there was ever a proper tribute to leftist stupidity, this one rates as one of the best.

People forget to mention the other ‘project’…the restaurant located in the middle of a pedestrian bridge.
Went there in March, snowing, blowing snow, cold. Just to say I did. partner and I were only folk there. More staff than customers per se.
Food was useless. Plain hamburger buns. Not even sesame seed or something attractive.
To think I walked all the way (oh parking is another issue) there for this. At least the view of the ice flows against the supports were entertaining.
The whole thing is a circus and this is just one ring of it.

There is no end to the things into which Manitoba Hydro “invests” its swag; from novel harvesting machines like the McLeod Harvester to rights museums. If I was the premier of Manitoba I would consider new faces on the board of directors; directors who might actually concern themselves with the business of supplying electricity to their costumers.
They’re just weeding out the chaff to find the right kind of Nazi’s for the job.
68 employees for a museum that opens in 2 years. Cut me off a piece of that. On second thought, I lived in Winnipeg, I know better. 68 people with absolutely nothing to do? Could that create poor morale?
