Pleasing Your Enemies Does Not Turn Them Into Friends

An IQ test for Republicans;

(“hey, Coach Saban, you should have your quarterback play like he’s left-handed…that surely will surprise the Georgia defense…oh, and have your secondary and D-lineman trade places…I’m serious, that would be a brilliant strategy…I only want what’s best for you guys”).

It worked for George H.W. Bush.

  1. The rump of the GOP seems to be a behavorial sink for the brain-dead. One gathers that the machine GOP liked the Tea Party as little as did the Democrats.
    At the same time, they represented the future. Romney won the Republican nomination; Romney beat down the Tea Party;
    result, no future for the GOP.

  2. Eugene Robinson is all for co-operation, diversity and tolerance as long as you agree with everything they propose.

  3. Dilemma: Give in to the childish demands of the greedy entitled populous, or maintain true conservative principles and remain in obscurity as the US becomes Europe West. Will America collectively grow up in time?

  4. Reminds me of how, up to the beginning of 2012, my lefty friends were quietly admitting to me that Romney was a Republican they could actually see themselves supporting.

  5. Give Obama his tax increases and program spending. Do not give him an unlimited debt limit increase. Force him to pay for his programs with revenue collected today, not passed onto future generations. The six trillion debt he just added got him re-elected. Do you think if he raised 6 trillion in new tax revenue, for the past four years, he would have a second term? If they don’t do this, get ready for Biden 2016.

  6. They should not negotiate. Any negotiation or compromise will result in the economy being blamed on the republicans, with full media support. Give Obama exactly what he wants and let it burn.

  7. A great opportunity for a Conservative MP to become beloved!
    Sponsor a bill to increase taxes immensely on the usual suspects. Call it a Love Your Country tax. Give them specifically the higher taxes they are always requesting for others.
    Entertaining if nothing else. Is there nary a Conservative MP with a sense of humour?

  8. Time to fix the Rhinos so they cant breed there ugly politics. The Marxists I understand. Not the so called useless bums who call themselves conservative. Just like Redfords phoney Conservative party

  9. Reaching across the aisle for Republicans should entail rearranging Democrats dental work.
    Nothing less.

  10. Surrendering the trust of the taxpayer, whose manhoods are now in a vice, will definitely not win the Republicans any votes.
    I don’t believe Obama has any intention of fixing the economy, will be glad give the impression of working across the aisle (even though he is a sad, petty little man) and if Romney DOES take up his offer for lunch, it should be so that he can punch that insolent murderer in the throat.
