think that company is big problem pretend no write good.
make move easy to China and union no at fault.

  3. The current POTUS has helped CAT out alot with all the stimulus road building projects…but ya just can’t keep tearing the roads up forever even if CAT is based in Illinois.

  4. You’d think with Hussein Obama burying the economy there’d be more call for excavators to dig and dozers. To push the remains into the bottomless pit.
Oh but for the days of Stalin and Lenin! When leftist were all gaga for tractors, locomotive and productions!.Now we just have limpwrist, decaf green tea sipping druids and their hairy woman folk in sensible recycled tire shoes.

  5. “They should have stayed in London Ont” Why?
    Joe Fontanas’ pipe dreams?
London’s a decent city, but a small plague would do wonders.

  6. Our Cat graders did not stand up and their warranty was the pits, so we went back to Volvo. However, thanks to Kalifornia’s insane emission regs the new Tier 4(?) motors do not stand up. Had to replace both motors already at around 3 -4 thousand hours.

  7. Ken there are probably TWO people reading this who have a clue what tier4 means.
But … you are quite correct. The industry should have fought very hard to keep these regulations out of the construction and farm equipment sectors.
Hard to do though with Washington holding the credit notes on your entire business.

  8. I have an idea as to how much of a mess the Tier 4 regulations are.
We haven’t deployed any Tier 4 engines, yet but they are coming, and given that our industry generally runs the engines 24/7 we aren’t looking forward to them.
And given the Ultra Low Sulfur fuel doesn’t work that well in older engines, setting up a second supply chain for it isn’t a good expense.
