  11. Open Question: Sunday afternoon I saw a family capturing tiny little crabs on a beach in West Vancouver, BC. They appeared to have a fairly large bagful of them.
    For argument’s sake, let’s assume they don’t own a crab fishing license.
    Does anyone definitively know if this is legal or illegal? I’m just curious.

    And while we’re on the subject of vacuous nonsense from Bell Globe Media, or whatever it’s called now, I have to say that I was absolutely appalled by Canada AM this AM (not that I watch it, but my wife and my Rottweiler George like to have background “news” on while they’re getting ready for work), to wit:
    Poor Michael Kane was explaining how excited he was to see Dieppe Uncovered last evening (which airs again this week several times and which blows a very serious hole in the Liberal narrative about the last seventy years of Canadian history — check out History Television), explaining that his own father was taken prisoner during the operation. The three ladies hosting just couldn’t wait to have Mr. Kane off the air so they could get to the big stories — the first being the Oprah Winfrey interview with Rihanna (the clip showing her crying about how Chris Brown was just trying to help her singing…), the second being a piece in The Mop and Pail about Marci Ien at the gym and the third being about how “some of President Obama’s critics” (dripping with derision) are upset about how the children of illegals are rushing to sign up for US Citizenship.
    Circling back to the start of this post, my wife asked me what I thought about the children of illegals thingee (she completely understood the Rihanna stuff: “Where are the feminists?”), to which I noted that the Democrats’ tactics make the Liberals’ tactics look like a pleasant, if mildly bad, golf game.
    How am I supposed to explain this to George?

  29. A big thanks to everyone for the feedback on my question about removing little crabs from the beach.
    James, I did just call the number you provided. The woman who answered wasn’t sure what the rules are for the little crabs. She did give me another number to call: 604-664-9250 This is the Steveston office in Richmond. They’re closed today but I left a voice mail and will hopefully hear back soon as to what’s what.
