This morning, comedian Jon Lovitz guest hosted Dennis Miller’s radio show. Lovitz, who very openly admits his Leftist underpinnings and that he proudly voted for Barack Obama in 2008, nevertheless got into some trouble recently.
The first caller today asked Lovitz why comedy shows like Saturday Night Live, which he’s an alumni of, don’t ever criticize Obama. Here’s the explanation that Lovitz gave:
I don’t think they’re purposely not making jokes about Obama, at all. I think the problem is, he’s hard to make fun of because he’s very smart, he’s very well educated, he speaks well, he doesn’t make mistakes, he’s not a klutz, he’s a nice looking man, he has a nice family. I mean, he’s hard to make fun of so it’s hard to think of jokes. George Bush, when he was President, he would misspeak all the time. Every year there was a new book out about the things he said. So he wasn’t that hard to make jokes about because of that. But with Obama … the first time he did something I put it on Twitter … he kept going on about the taxes, that the wealthy aren’t paying their fair share. And my whole argument was that most people in that tax bracket are paying their fair share and if you want them to pay more, why don’t you just say, ‘You’re paying a tremendous amount of taxes but we need your help. Could you pay a bit more to help the country?’ And most people would say ‘Okay, sure’. But when you phrase it as ‘you’re not paying your fair share’ and I just felt he was throwing a whole segment of the population under the bus. And I voted for him. I believed in him.
If that’s the first time that Jon Lovitz has heard Barack Obama make a gaffe then he clearly has had cotton balls in his ears and blinders over his eyes.

“smart, well-educated”? How does anyone know that. He won’t release his transcripts and there seem to be lots of questions about how he even gained admission to some of these schools. He clearly has no smarts in regard to the economy.
“Speaks well”? He reads from a friggin teleprompter. Otherwise, he’s a disaster.

I hope Dennis takes some heat from his listeners for letting a dipshit like Lovitz guest-host.
If was so smart, so well educated, he would not only release his transcripts, he would threaten any MSM outlet that didn’t print them.

Sometimes the hardest part is deciding which one to vote for.
Cut Obama some slack. Of course he’s smart. His grades won’t show it though because he smoked a ton of pot back then. No, no, no. It’s OK to elect illegal substance abusers as president these days. Well, so long as they’re Democrats.
Also, Obama is part black so you should take that into consideration too. Saying so used to be considered racist, but now it’s apparently “progressive” to lower expectations based on ones skin color.
When it comes to the institutional left, the weakest intellectual link is the entertainment sector. Some have talent, many have luck, but very few can boast political acumen warranting an audience consisting of anyone not a drone of the left.
I stopped watching SNL years ago when they went all “Smothers Brothers”.

The left still thinks that Roberts screwed up the Oath of Office. You can’t view the video without the unmistakable fact that Obama started talking over Roberts first, and that threw Roberts off. Of course, they called Roberts a racist who intentionally messed up the “historic moment.”
All I can say is that it was a fitting start to a scripted presidency.

Further to what ‘c’ said … later on in the show, Dana Carvey was a guest. He went into great detail about how most comedians in America are still making Sarah Palin and George Bush jokes; they refuse to make even one about Obama. He also talked about comedian Mort Sahl whose career was virtually destroyed in the early 1960’s when he made jokes about Kennedy – even before the assassination.
It appears that one constant about the Left is that they cannot laugh at themselves or their political leaders … ever. 🙁
Oh, I get it! Jon Lovitz is joking. That’s what he does. No one can believe that Obama is an intelligent man. No one can declare his that his political prowess above par. I mean- who would believe it? Iran? The unemployed? Canada? Who?
Jon Lovitz doesn’t know and hasn’t heard of any of Obama’s gaffes, BECAUSE of the sources of news media he chooses to watch or listen to.
Don’t underestimate the amount or degree to which the avg. person(most everyday people) lives under the dark cloke provided by the MSM. The avg. person doesn’t know what “MSM” stands for. They just keep watch the alphabet channels, and those channels keep saying four things, 1. the econemy is getting better, slowly. 2. Obama’s trying his best. 3. Romney is rich and out of touch. 4. The First Lady is beautiful, has excellent taste in clothes, and wants you to eat healthy, even though each time her husband leaves the Whitehouse, he ends up at a greasy burger joint.
I don’t know who this Lovitz is. I never found willful stupidity funny, which evidently puts me in the minority.

One reason (among many) that the OCCUPY movement floundered was that it couldn’t garner enough celebrity support – apart from the predictably loathsome Michael Moore, of course.
And no wonder.
Even the dimmest Hollywood celebs weren’t so gormless that they couldn’t see it would be a bit tricky to rage against the one percent when you, er, happen to be one of them.
