  1. Chick-fil-A: if you’re not sure, this is how fascism works
The big deal is simply this: the press put aside context and decided to paint this company as some radically-religious-gay-hating-entity and then let the forces of anger, hate and spite have their way with it. The truth is, one can be a Christian and still be sympathetic to some parts of the so-called “gay agenda” without signing on in toto. One can disagree on the issue of gay marriage — based on scripture, or thousands of years of tradition, or on natural law — without actually hating anyone. But the right to principled opposition is being erased, quickly, and the press is doing all it can to help erase it. We are losing the right to say, “I don’t think the same way you do; my opinions are different.” That matters, a lot.

  2. Good for you Kate. You must have wanted to get home. 😉 Are you going to give us an update of your’s and your friend’s efforts?
Revnant Dream, the principles of the sovietization of our society are slowly being implemented in this area as in many other areas. Freedom is disappearing. We are becoming the new subjects as in Orlando Figes’, “The Whisperers”.

  3. @ SDH
    Re: EBD
I cut and pasted this from Lance July 22nd
EBD is away, Kate’s showing a dog or three and Sask Power decided we didn’t need any, so posting will be light for the forseeable future.
There are a few posts scheduled and hopefully they’ll pop up. If you’ve anything interesting, throw it in the Readers Tips thread.

  4. Re: Hell on Wheels. Good song!!
Always reminds me of Former Premier Grant Devine, when asked what he thought of the AIDS epidemic. His answer: “She’ll be hell on wheels when that starts to spread.”

  5. “Here’s where our stats are to end of June. We picked up a lot more in Texas. Kate“.
Good going, Kate! Question: What’s with the #1 at 8910 pts, miles ahead of all the others?

  6. Meanwhile at the Bluegrass Festival, a wee birdie comes up and joins the band. Watch for it about the half-way point…. priceless! Watch on fullscreen if you can – and hey – the music’s not bad either 🙂

  7. Kate you Angel. I’ve never heard of Pistol Annie before. I’m floored. Just love ’em!
    Bless you…..

  8. While the girls in this group have great voices, I’m really surprised that Kate would post a song in which women celebrate using men, extracting every material they can from them (“Poor ol’ Billy, bless his heart, I’m still using his credit card”?!?) and then tossing them aside to go in search of their next mark.

  9. Drive safely Kate. I’ve treated a few too many “statistics” who fell asleep at the wheel. Don’t add to them.

  10. Stay safe Kate, you ARE THE BEST!!!!!!
Kate, I need help with “Lola” FROM “GIANT PUMPKIN GROWERS!!!
    Google ” Kishpitcha”

  11. The #1 dog is being shown coast to coast, every weekend by a professional handler. In contrast, Golda is out only about once a month, on average. And she’s being shown by a “nobody”. 🙂

  12. “Greenland Ice Melt every 150 years is ‘right on time’”
““Ice cores from Summit show that melting events of this type occur about once every 150 years on average. With the last one happening in 1889, this event is right on time,” says Lora Koenig, a Goddard glaciologist and a member of the research team analyzing the satellite data.”

    “Coldest water for 16 years”
” For those who have looked forward to a warm dip in the seas around Denmark in recent weeks, neither the weather nor water temperatures have been over-clement. In fact, according to the TV2 WaterTemperaturePatrol, last Sunday saw the lowest temperature in the patrol’s 16 year history.
“An average temperature of 16.7 degrees may not sound particularly cold, but it is a temperature we have not previously seen before on July 22nd,” says Anders Brandt of the TV2 Weather Service.”

  13. 48 hours from texas to saskachabush?
When I was driving from Los Angeles to Edmonton it was done regularly in 26 hours of drive time.

  14. Regarding the shakedown artists/mobsters running the BC govt and Premier Clark’s demands for a cut of Alberta’s oil royalities in exchange for the Gateway pipline crossing BC, it is always good to start with the facts and pipeline maps.
    http://www.centreforenergy.com/Documents/AboutEnergy/ByTheNumbers/ByTheNumbers.pdf
Interesting that an oil pipeline longer than the proposed Gateway one, runs from NE BC down the centre of the province to the present refinieries in the Lower Mainland.
And nobody stamped their little feet and cried about fouled soil and valleys. And how many spills has it had?
It is always amazing to find out how a desperate politician’s mind gets warped when faced with a defeat at the polls.
BTW, just how BIG is BC’s prov deficit?

  15. Damn, that’s some driving there.
Hey Kate, did ya try some Texas BBQ before ya left country ?
    ,

  16. Ask and thy shall receive.
BC govt deficit last yr was claimed to be $1.84 bil.
BC Auditor General says it was understated by the BC govt thugs by $520 million and soooooooo the total was really $2.36 bil.
As they say, follow the munney.
But what an absolutely pathetic display by a so-called Premier of a province.
Where does this extortionist think she’s from, Quebec?

  17. Rockyt make no mistake here this is a political show put on by RED-fraud and Christie Clark. They both want the pipeline project defeated and they’ve found a way to do it without taking the blame in their respective jurisdictions. Christie can say in BC it was redfraud’s fault and redfraud can blame christie. It’s perfect. They get both their libtard base and their more conservative base onside.

  18. Congratulations, Kate, that is a superhuman feat. I never dared more than 1000 miles in a day.

  19. A ‘nobody’,huh,I think there are many who would disagree.
I’ve driven comparable distances, but never with a dog or two. Well done.

  20. The ndp have a site up where you can post letters to Saint Jack of Layton. Unfortunately, the ‘prayers’ must be approved before they are put up. I thanked him for showing the common man that there is no reason to be embarrassed for seeking therapy at a community clinic.

  21. OK Joe- I’m going to be in Woodstock this Sunday.
Where would I find your pumpkins? ( This after visiting my dementia-ridden aunt in Caressant Care).

  22. …the principles of the sovietization of our society are slowly being implemented in this area as in many other areas. Freedom is disappearing. Ken (Kulak)
Absolutely true, Ken, and you need look no further than the Democratic Party, which is now in the hands of the Communist Left ( the Communists, ever deceitful, now call themselves the ” Progressive Left ” now, as they go about their destruction. )
The Communists decided that they would first need to destroy all the virtues of capitalist society before they could seize power for themselves. To do this, they would aim to destroy as many of the admirable features of capitalist cultures as they could – the ( formerly high )quality of schools, stable families nurtured well-adjusted children, the respect citizens had for their neighbors, and the citizen’s general belief in the goodness of their societies, and, by no means least importantly, the high standard livings enjoyed by the capitalist societies.
To achieve the destruction, they implemented the sovietization you mentioned in schools, in the mass culture, and the media. Their term for the effect on society brought by that assault is ” cultural Marxism. ”
In schools, they implemented methods of instruction, and courses, that had the purpose of producing uneducated, frustrated graduates, who would sour on the present capitalist society they lived in, and yearn for the utopias preached by the left. The left has been phenomenally successful in turning schools into nothing more then 12 years of daycare. The ways they achieved this are too numerous to mention here, but anyone who has a child in elementary school, can see first hand, the complete elimination of mastery of the 9 x 9 multiplication tables, and basic addition from the curriculum, and the general re-purposing of school to goals other than mental development of the children. )
To attack the nuclear family, the Communist Left recognized they would first need to destroy the ethos of the ’50’s, which overwhelmingly recognized that stable families were necessary for the raising of stable, and happy children, and that parents must devote themselves singlemindedly to that task.
To weaken the family, the Left spread the notion that the upbringing of children would proceed automatically with no special efforts necessary on the part of the parents, with the knowledge and expectation that many parents, free of the family norm that the children’s need for a stable family was far more important than the parent’s ambitions outside the family, would pursue their careers, or even new relationships to the vast detriment of their children.
The goal of this revolution in attitudes was to produce millions of dispirited children the products of divorce who would be disillusioned with the nuclear family and parental authority, and hence would be ripe fodder for the revolutionary Left’s message that the present society was evil, and a happier society would result if old norms were abandoned for once and for all.
Cultural marxism aims is to destroy every good feature of capitalist societies so that the mass of voters’ everyday lives became worse in every way possible, so that they may reach a point of desperation where they would vote in radicals who promised relief.
To destroy jobs and living standards, the communists migrated into the environmental movement, to destroy entire industries, and hence livelihoods of the workers, and, as a side benefit, drive up the costs of goods to everyone else.
The purpose of the AGW/renewable energy agenda has never been to end or address global warming, but rather it was to drive the cost of electricity sky high levels, because modern industry and the standard of living of individuals depends on reasonably priced power. And sky high electricity rates are an inescapable consequence of using renewable energies too generate electricity.
That high electricity rates were the greens’ goal is easy to see. If less CO2 had been their desired goal, the greens would have immediately embraced natural gas fracking as an immediate way to massively reduce CO2, and encouraged a transition as fast as possible to zero CO2 nuclear power. But they didn’t, and don’t. The greens/the left fiercely oppose replacing coal with cheap natural gas, and appear willing to fight to the last ditch to stop fracking with a litany of lies as long as they used to stop the cheap electricity produced by coal. They know that if power remains cheap, they will never gain control over the power industry.
The regulatory agenda of the left extends to the de-certification of agricultural chemicals, which the left claim they do in the name of food or farm worker safety.
The true goal of eliminating ag chem is not to reduce risks to human health, it is to end the high-intensity agriculture that has produced a low cost, stable, and very abundant food to the populace.
If the left’s goal was simply safe food, they would never have opposed rBST treatment of cows, (which is a hormonal treatment that increases cow lactation, and lowers the cost of producing the milk), because rBST is completely undetectable in the milk of cows so treated?
If the left’s goal is to end pesticide use, rather than drive up food prices, why do they oppose ” genetically modified ” corn which naturally produces Bt toxin, and eliminates the need for spraying pesticide to kill corn earworms? Or, why do they oppose the production of Bt cotton, which also eliminates the need of pesticide use to kill the boll worm, when cotton is not in any way incorporated into the food supply? The left’s claim of opposing pesticides to improve food safety is laughable, as even organic farming permits the use of deadly ( but very high-priced ) ” natural pesticides.
The greens/leftists involved in opposing recombinant gene methods of improving plants have maintained the huge lie that, somehow genetic engineering of crops is inherently questionable, while traditional breeding ( which involves breeding in genes from completely wild, sometimes-toxic-to-humans, ancestors of the crop being improved ) is inherently sound, when the truth is that both methods of improving plant varieties produce lines that are destroyed, because they are indigestible, or produce toxins or anti-nutritive factors as they grow. But their willingness to use lies to gain power is not surprising, since, after all, they publicly declare that they will seize power ” by any means necessary “.
To protect these and all other conquests, the communists successfully imposed political correctness through the media and universities through the weak point of the political class, who merely buckled and submitted when the media threatened to call them intolerant, racist, uncaring, etc. if they refused to accept the premises of the left in their political speech.

  23. small c conservative, wow, not much I can add to that. You covered the infiltration of our society so well. Lenin set up this infiltration with the Comintern and Stalin perfected the plan for the disintegration which escalated after WWII. The experiences of my retired teacher friend and now deceased teacher brother-in-law in the late 1950s while they were in teacher training in the late 1950s shows exactly how this infiltration was done through the educational system.
Some of what you said was exactly what happened to much of my family. One of the first tasks the Bolsheviks set themselves to was to destroy the family unit and make the state the “family”.
