Two If By Tea

Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
The Week, February 2012The Tea Party’s waning influence: 4 theories
NYT, May 2012The results of the primary end the career of one of the longest-serving members of the Senate and provide a new trophy for the Tea Party movement. Mr. Lugar, 80, leaves after three decades as one of the chamber’s leading foreign policy experts and with a reputation as a voice of moderation in his party.

  1. Reason #5: The election season has only just begun, and therefore there has been nothing to influence.
    What a bunch of ninnies.

  2. Rumors of Tea Party demise are greatly exagerated.
The Tea Party is none to happy with the RINO candidtes the GOP has fielded. Watch them put Ron Paul over the top at the RNC. There are also rumblings about them putting Rand Paul up for VP.

  3. My advise to those who think the TEA Party is defunct….
“If wishes were horses..then beggars could ride.”

  4. Lugar was a consistent anti-gun rights legislator and referred to as Obama’s favourite Republican. After all those terms in the Senate he couldn’t help but be a Stockholm Syndrome, aisle-crossing, good old boy.
    Go Tea Party!

  5. Sarah came out in support of Mourdock.
This puts here electoral choices at approximately 90% accuracy.
The dead tree media continues to call her dumber than a bag of hammers.
They’re all continuing to look like nails.

  6. Unlike the “Occupy” twits, the TP doesn’t need to “influence voters” and “get out the vote” – the TP IS the vote.
    Silent, but deadly.

  7. ‘bama’s congratulating lugar on his ‘retirement’….as if he had a choice.
The Americans are finally doing what we largely did up here, except for Alberta, they’re purging the fake ‘conservatives’ from their party and taking back their principles…to the protest of the losing liebrals in the way lugar tried to tell Mourdock that he had to ‘change his positions’ during his parting speech, forgetting that it was those positions that kicked his liebral ass off the gravy train and that those positions are the ones the people want.
Still, it’s going to be fun watching ‘bama and a whole bunch of high-paid moonbats announce their sudden ‘retirement’ in November…and if a federal prisoner convicted for extortion, among other things, can almost tie ‘bama, (who hasn’t been convicted…yet) in a primary race…the writing’s on the wall.

  8. yes, Obamba may be in GRAVE danger if the dead need to show ID in november

  9. Lugar was an uber red Tory – to the left of most bluedogs on domesric issues Yet he is called a “moderating influence” for the GOP. Perspective is everything I guess.

  10. Lugar, RINO. Somehow ‘Small Dead Animal’ seems like and appropriate place to note his passing. Thank God for the Tea Party. Now if we can add a similar story about big ears BHO here this coming fall, I’d be tickled pink.

  11. What really harpooned Lugar was in his arrogant RINO mind he stopped living in Indiana. How can you be a Senator from Indiana if you Don’t Live There ?
We don’t even have to mention that he voted for the Bailouts, supported Amnesty, supported to raise the Debt-Ceiling and had the full support of the Indiana Democrat Party and all the while dissing the Tea Party. Pretty stupid.

  12. I realized how bad Lugar had gotten as a Senator when I heard lefty Bob Beckel on Fox News saying how sad it was to lose him. Good riddance, and I hope the Tea Party gets a bunch more of these old RINO dinosaurs. It’s our only hope now.

  13. Speaking of Beckel, I can’t watch anything he is on because I refuse to be lectured to by a pompous Obama-loving Democrat slob.

Thanks for the link. That was absolutely heart wrenching and my tears flowed freely. Needless to say , my cheque is in the mail. If I can save even one, I know I will sleep better at night.

  15. if only one is saved then many more people, just like you, will be able to sleep peacefully…or at least quietly.

Thank you for the link, and as peterj says it “was absolutely heart wrenching”.
I made a deposit to help out.

“As of May 10, 2012, 4 senators are in their 80s, 22 are in their 70s, 37 are in their 60s, 28 are in their 50s, and 9 are in their 40s.”
74 are in the sixties and younger so I’m not so sure that is a problem. 26 are 70 and older with far too many years service to avoid rot and corruption. The senate should be no more than 2 four year terms for the same reason presidents can serve. Fresh water in the toilet bowl after even 8 years would eliminate much of the stench.
    Too logical ?

  18. The Tea Party is everyone in the USA who watched their national debt double in two years, during an economic crisis no less, and freaked out.
That appears to be about 60%+ of adults in the USA. All of whom have stopped buying the newspapers and stopped listening to TV news other than Fox. That’s what circulation numbers and CNN’s viewership suggests, anyway.
All you have to do is look at the continued run on firearms and ammunition in the USA to know that the Tea Party is alive and well, and that Barry is going to get toasted in November.

  19. Sure hope your’e right phantom.
“Barry is going to get toasted in November.”
We were wrong about Trudeau getting the snot kicked out of him and wrong about Wildrose. We really need that one out of three.
