Groupthink explains climate alarmism to a T !!
[ 1. Overestimate of the group’s power and morality, including “an unquestioned belief in the group’s inherent morality, inclining the members to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their actions.” [emphasis added]
2. Closed-mindedness, including a refusal to consider alternative explanations and stereotyped negative views of those who aren’t part of the group’s consensus. The group takes on a “win-lose fighting stance” toward alternative views.[5]
3. Pressure toward uniformity, including “a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgments conforming to the majority view”; “direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group’s stereotypes”; and “the emergence of self-appointed mind-guards … who protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions.”[6]] Paul MacRae

This article in Haaretz makes a convincing case that Johan Galtung, the 82-year-old Norwegian who is “one of the founders of the discipline called ‘Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution'” is a virulent anti-Semite.
Galtun suggested that there may be a link between the Breivik massacre and Mossad — “it is illegitimate to eliminate it as a hypothesis with no evidence” — and said:
Yeah, peace.

The Beginnings of the French Crisis
Apart from the birth of Christ, it would be difficult to find a historical event with as much continuing influence on today’s world as these two revolutions have had. The Chinese premier Zhou Enlai was supposedly once asked for his opinion of the French Revolution. According to the story, he thought for a moment and then said, “Too soon to tell.” Whether or not the story is true, the assessment is correct. The French Revolution continues to have an effect on us in our own time.

BBC — South Sudan blamed as it gears up for war — Andrew Harding, Bentiu, South Sudan
“At a dusty intersection just north of Bentiu, three young South Sudanese soldiers were waiting for a lift to the frontlines.
‘We are in a process leading to war,’ said 24-year-old Moses Akon, thoughtfully.
Trucks and pick-ups crammed with troop reinforcements, weapons, and a surprising amount of beer – crates of Red Horse beer to be precise – raced past.”

McGuinty thinks that if he moves slot machines out of the racetracks and into privately run casinos there will be more revenue that he can just scoop up for the government and the books will be balanced and everything will be just fine. Nice going McGuinty!
Revnant Dream, I did not ever think I would agree with anything any communist ever said, but Chinese premier Zhou Enlai was right when he said “Too soon to tell”.
Another chapter in the fallout from the French Revolution will be played out this November in the US.
A chapter sub-section under Canada was played out in Alberta a week ago.

Margaret Wente, vis a vis the rioting Quebec students: “According to Pierre Martin, a political science professor at the University of Montreal, Quebec’s students dwell in a world of their own. They neither know nor care what’s happening in the rest of Canada. ‘The Quebec education system is a distinct system in the sense that very few students would contemplate the option of going elsewhere,’ he said on As It Happens. ‘The system is very self-contained.’ Now I get it: The kids are on another planet.”

“Four Shocks That Could Change China”
“USSR power struggles occurred when an aged leader died. Deng Xiaoping insisted on mandatory term limits to spare China geriatric and unstable leaders, bereft of new ideas and prone to irrationalities (such as Mao and his Cultural Revolution). Two of the four shocks show that regular turnover breeds regular power struggles. China 2030 and the Bo Xilai case are manifestations of the ongoing power struggle that is taking place amidst a background of civil unrest.”

Interesting story on Fox (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/04/30/top-epa-official-resigns-after-crucify-comment/?test=latestnews). A top EPA official in the States resigned for making statement comparing their methods to what Romans did:
“It was kind of like how the Romans used to, you know, conquer villages in the Mediterranean,” he said. “They’d go in to a little Turkish town somewhere, they’d find the first five guys they saw, and they’d crucify them….” he said.
He apparently was educated on Flinstons (again, he was some top Environmental Protection Agency guy). Turks come to Mediterranean long after Romans left the area for good – some 800 years later!

“Fiscal restraint is rippling through Canada’s national statistical agency, prompting it to start slicing surveys and warn staff of cost cuts and impending layoffs in what it calls a “year of sacrifice” at the organization.
Not only is Statistics Canada facing reductions from the federal budget of about 8 per cent, it is also grappling with an “unprecedented” drop in revenue from other government departments that fund surveys, its chief statistician says.”

Occupy SF Protesters Armed With Crowbars, Bats Smash Windows Of Local Businesses, Paint-Bomb Police Station…
http://missionlocal.org/2012/04/windows-and-cars-damaged-on-valencia-st-following-early-may-day-strike/
A group of protesters vandalized dozens of businesses, cars and any property they came across while they marched through the Mission on Monday night.
The mile-long trek of vandalism began on 18th and Dolores streets, where a group of more than 100 protesters met as part of an early May Day march. Protesters walked West on 18th Street, turned left on Valencia Street, turned right on Duboce Avenue and another made a right on Mission Street before being confronted by riot police at 14th and Mission streets, according to Justin Beck and independent journalist who followed the protesters.
It is not immediately known how many people were arrested. The Occupy San Francisco group released a statement early Tuesday Morning saying that the group of vandals were not part of the movement, but the statement was taken down shortly after.

UK Climate Policy Helps Fund Forced Sterilisation Of India’s Poor
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/apr/15/uk-aid-forced-sterilisation-india
Tens of millions of pounds of UK aid money have been spent on a programme that has forcibly sterilised Indian women and men, the Observer has learned. Many have died as a result of botched operations, while others have been left bleeding and in agony. A number of pregnant women selected for sterilisation suffered miscarriages and lost their babies.
The UK agreed to give India £166m to fund the programme, despite allegations that the money would be used to sterilise the poor in an attempt to curb the country’s burgeoning population of 1.2 billion people.
Yet a working paper published by the UK’s Department for International Development in 2010 cited the need to fight climate change as one of the key reasons for pressing ahead with such programmes. The document argued that reducing population numbers would cut greenhouse gases, although it warned that there were “complex human rights and ethical issues” involved in forced population control.

an oldie but a goodie…and wait for it to kick into high gear…’bama and the dems learned well from the south american juntas…
President Obama goes to a primary school to talk to the kids.
After his talk he offers question time.
One little boy puts up his hand, and Obama asks him his name.
“Walter,” responds the little boy.
“And what is your question, Walter?”
“I have four questions:
“First, “Why did the USA Bomb Libya without the support of the Congress?”
Second, “Why do you keep saying you fixed the economy when it’s actuallygotten worse?”
Third, “Why did you say that Jeremiah Wright was your mentor, then said that you knew nothing about his preaching and beliefs?”
Fourth, “Why are we lending money to Brazil to drill for oil, but America is not allowed to drill for oil?”
Just then, the bell rings for recess.
Obama informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess.
When they resume Obama says, “OK, where were we? Oh, that’s right: questiontime.. Who has a question?”
Another little boy puts up his hand.
Obama points him out and asks him hisname.
“Steve,” he responds.
“And what is your question, Steve?”
Actually, I have two questions.
First, “Why did the recess bell ring 20 minutes early?”
Second, “What the fuck happened to Walter?”

Obama To Spike The Bin Laden Football On National TV, Will Address The Nation Tonight From Afghanistan…
(CNN) — President Obama made a surprise visit to Afghanistan today on the one year anniversary of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. While in country Obama and President Karzai signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement which provides the framework for U.S.-Afghanistan partnership after transition and the draw down of U.S. forces. The president will also address the nation live from Afghanistan at 7:30pm ET.
Time for a jihadist attack ? or a drone strike ?
Either one works…and ordinarily, I’d put equal odds on either, the dems should be about ready to ‘martyr’ him soon enough and try for the ‘sympathy and outrage’ vote…after, of course, blaming it on the TEA Party….
But it’s not close enough to the election and he isn’t losing badly enough…yet…more likely he’ll have his “running from the chopper dodging sniper fire” moment like billary claimed to have had….
No matter what though, you can bet the troops will be disarmed…again…or more likely have bolts and magazines confiscated so the talking heads can point to the useless rifles over their shoulders and claim they weren’t…..

It was embarrassing if not shamefull. What happened here in ex Alberta now wannabe Ontario land. Not because a Party lost. They all go bad in the end. It was the fact Both Red ED along with Redford where proven crooks. Had a history of if not Human rights abuses, but Marxist leanings. A UN candidate no less. What happened was my Alberta which I grew up in died . When you vote for known people who despise values, morals with Liberty. Hate free speech or a rule of real law.For moral relativists with the ethical leanings of sharks. For lived in now for 4 years or more of obscene corruption in Two leaders. Already in a Party thats been turned.. You have Californiated your Land, to the death knell of statism. Any prosperity or Independence now will be leeched away in regulation for these political Marxist parasites. Its why I won’t vote again. Its become a farce. Alberta will get its “progressive” government , with all it’d Taxes plus poverty while shrinking.
Instead of a chose for democracy with individualism. My so called Countrymen choose slavery.
I hope they like the stink of it in 3 years time.
