  1. It’s no accident …. the standard fare for G&M is conservative bashing.
Forkem … have not even opened one of their rags by accident in over 20 years. Seldom get tricked into going to their webpage either.
Another thing that is no accident is the colours used by the prog party of AB …..

  2. I believe Ontario is having a difficult times with fortunes shifting to the west. What’s good for Ontario is good for Canada was what I grew up with. Only takes a premier like McGuinty to set them back to laughing stock status. The balance of power is shifting and the MSM can’t handle it.

  3. The “Globe is Small” is a prime example of why liberal newspapers are running out of time.
For those of you in the West, they do not speak for everyone in the East either. Remember, they said the same thing about Stephen Harper, and the last time I checked, he was still the Prime Minister of Canada.
PMSH is staying a long time and so will Wildrose. Mark my words.
In fact, they may be here long after the Globe is long gone.
I can hear the weeping and wailing and the gnashing of teeth, as we speak.
By the way, someone should ask Tim Hudak how running an election in Ontario, the way the Alberta PCs are running their campaign, worked out.
    Losers all.

  4. Thank goodness Alison isn’t too bright or we might have had 5 more years of her. If she would have immediately called an election she probably would have won a majority. Instead she had to pass her silly law criminalizing sober people and then had one mini-scandal after another.

  5. The article is scraping pretty hard to demonstrate that Smith won’t last long even if her party doesn’t. Only skimmed it but it’s not very convincing…and kinda smells desperate.

  6. Don’t worry dears, Wildrose might be a one term wonder. Love it.
No accident, Kate. Beginning last Friday, the Globe began to hedge their bets in their choice of photographs, though the written coverage has remained the same. Gone are the heroic portraits of Allison Redford that irked me so badly over the winter. Consider the photos that accompanied the Globe’s lead articles:
    Friday
    Saturday
On the other hand, Smith got her first exclusive front page photo on Saturday, and inside was the Vulcan photo, and now this.
Smith photographs effortlessly, Redford, not so much.
While I’m on the subject of optics, does anybody in the PC campaign notice that Redford talks like she’s on some faculty committee? Some days, she almost sounds like Stephan Dion.

  7. The photos are pretty obnoxious actually.
Redford always looks like an elderly, former drug addict in the process of ripping a massive fart.
Danielle Smith always looks like she just finished having sex and is smugly teasing everyone who watched.
Newspapers need to be more objective.
(I know, I know. Ain’t going to happen.)

  8. Redford has made one mistake after another.
    Not calling an immediate election,
    The stupid .05 deal,
    Waffling on the Chiquita boycott,
Not giving back all the money on the pay for no meetings committee,
Not silencing her bully education minister,
Her “I’m going to change Alberta” comment and stance,
    A tax credit for teachers.
The list just goes on an on.
And Wild Rose won’t last? Yeah, sure.
Sorry Grenier you should do a little reading before you write.

  9. “Orange-shirted Susan Elliott is the campaign manager for the Alberta PCs? As in PROGRESSIVE c-somethings?!?”
“Health and Education and Fiscal responsibility!”
So, fiscal responsibility is running a $4 billion deficit?
That statement says it all, Alberta’s current NDP government!

  10. Ghost of Ed >
    W. Kinsella personally endorsed Allison Redford.
That was enough for me; the rest is……….. inconsequential.

  11. DanBC, I noticed the orange shirt too. That tells me they are way more progressive than conservative. All I could think of was Dipper orange when I saw that woman speak on Akin’s show today.

  12. At the Globe article there was a link to another one: “Trudeau ‘brilliant’ while Harper full of ‘illusions,’ says Fidel Castro”
Canada is still paying for the depredations of Pierre Trudeau. Meanwhile Fidel Castro is another one of these left-wing gangsters who thinks socialism will magically rise from the ashes of capitalism like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon. If that’s not the biggest and most dangerous illusion of the past 150 years, since Karl Marx was around, I don’t know what is. The cost in lives has been enormous. Castro should be brought to justice before he dies.

  13. Hi SDA
Grenier is a fairly independent political commentator and (statistical) analyst. He offers a useful overview of electoral “overthrows” thru the last century of Canadian history.
Nonetheless, I think he misses the point: I can see NO reason (short of actual incompetence or mendacity) that will evict the WRA, once elected. Alberta will get exactly what they want, and will be quite happy with it, thank you very much.

PS: Dick Slater: you write a very good letter !

  14. What’s most pathetic about the article is that it ignores the obvious distinction between Alberta and the rest of Canada, as far as voting history goes. Rather than concentrating on “how long before they’re out”, the Globots may have taken a look at the “once they’re out, Albertans NEVER vote them back in” phenomenon.
