Man, I think I maybe got three hours of sleep night before last. Getting linked by you is like spending the night with Dick Rambone — you feel it the next morning. (Having also been linked by the National Post, I’d say the latter was like spending the night with Pee Wee Herman. After he’d been circumcised. Twice.)

A belated note on your pix in that Neutral Hills slideshow. One word: AWESOME. I especially appreciated your eschewal of CHEESY musique which so often mars these presentations. Yunno, pan-pipe fluff and stuff.
I passed on your link to a good friend who’s a semi-pro photog and who’s been taking pix for 40 years (he’s now mentoring me in my new hobby). He said this:
I’m new at this but it seems that you have not over-manipulated the images which is very common today leading some to create what photographer Bruce Barnbaum calls “cartoon images”.

@Me No Dhimmi: I manipulate some images heavily, some not at all. Just sort of what strikes my fancy. However, I am careful not to pass off the heavily manipulated stuff as photographs — those are digital art. The music is courtesy of Kevin McLeod at http://www.incompetech.com.
@phil: I’m not sure I understand your comment? I do portraits and repair computers over the winter, over the summer I shoot weddings and do vegetation control in the oil patch (and some PC repair still). I’m not on welfare, nor do I receive any grants to support my art — I prefer to pay my own way.
I have a few of Seans works hanging on my walls and admire them daily – they are stories as much as pictures – highly recommended.
Beautiful pictures and not a fugly windmill in any of them. A true artist and not even politically correct or on the public teat.

Someone who calls himself an artist and takes government money for it is just a CON-artist.
Just out of curiosity, how does an “avalanche” of web traffic “kill” a site to the point where it must be rebuilt from backups? Unless you were hacked, this isn’t normally possible…
It turns out that if you use a particular autoinstaller script that my hosting provider has in my control panel while your site is getting hammered, it barfs and wipes out the entire contents of the directory in question. I’ve used it before and it wasn’t an issue because EBD hadn’t linked to me fifteen minutes previously.
Sean, I wouldn’t worry too much about a poster who works all day to sit up straight in his chair and is paid the big bucks for same. Keep doing what you do so well.
