I don’t know which is more loathsome: Newt or Santorum. Neither is fit to be…well anything. They actually make Romney look good.
Santorum and Newt were not exactly profiles in courage in the Congress. During their tenure only 1 in 4 Republicans approved of Congressional Republicans because of their tendency to cave on principle. They were great on meaningless crap like naming Navy ships after Reagan, but they ran from every fight of any importance.
I’m in Canada, but Newt is the only one it seems who would swing a big stick.And America NEEDS a biiig stick.
I am worried.

Newt is the only one left in the running that I’d actually vote for – and I still wouldn’t trust him very far once he got into office.
Sadly, he has the fewest delegates so far. Even fewer than Ron Paul – at this point, Newt is all but out of the race.
It’s a shame. He’s the only one that would have been worthwhile in a debate with Obama – assuming Obama didn’t find some excuse to avoid debating him.

His policies would help everyone in America – unfortunately USA, like Canada has many selfish ‘entitled to my entitlements’ mindset people, in both parties, who would rather see their country go down than vote to reverse the freefall if it means that they will not ‘get’ the freebies of old age or social welfare or UIC or the big cheques from investments in the military complex via war overseas that they were ‘promised’.
Sad really. Ken Kulack could tell them a thing or two about ‘entitlements’ under bankruptcy – as happened in Russia in 1917.

Please at least bother to consult Wikipedia on Gingrich. He got more done under the most difficult circumstances than most people can imagine let alone remember. It took two government shutdowns to hammer out a balanced budget. Everybody howled. Gingrich prevailed and was excoriated for it.
Newt G. running a country? That’s a terrifying thought. It takes more than angry yelling and simple minded economics to deal with complex problems. With any luck he’s in history’s dustbin and America will elect a thoughtful leader and peacemaker.

My hope is for a brokered convention with Mitch Daniels or Paul Ryan entering and being chosen. Not likely I know, but definitely better than any of the current candidates.
Andrew, that does not seem fair or right. The fresh face would have an instant advantage over those who have slogged it out, being as thoroughly vetted as possible, not to mention putting their donors’ money on the line. If that happens, the Republican establishment has way too much power.

Well, it was supposed to be Super Tuesday, but I found it took the usual several bounds to leap tall buildings. Cripes.
There are only 2 candidates, the others (Newt and Rick) do NOT qualify in all the districts or areas.

The guy who pushed ROMNEYCARE on a whole state?
I image they wont even change the sheets in the white house bedroom if that happens!
