  1. Line of the night to Greg Gutfeld.
If the left says deficits don’t matter, then why do they need taxes?

  2. It looks like the Malaysian government was lying about the circumstances surrounding the detention and deportation of the young Saudi man who had twittered something deemed to be blasphemous against Muhammed:

(Malaysian Home Minister) Hishamuddin Hussein and the (Royal Malaysia Police) have…backtracked on Interpol’s involvement after the agency had denied requesting Hamza’s arrest. The initial claim of Interpol’s involvement was a blatant attempt to varnish the arrest with a veneer of international legitimacy since the arrest could not be justified under international law as Hamza was clearly a political refugee.
It should be noted that when Hamza was arrested on 9 February at KLIA, he was trying to leave the country to New Zealand and not upon arrival in Malaysia as claimed by the authorities. This is another lie perpetrated in order to avoid embarrassment to the Saudi authorities that they have allowed Hamza to enter the country on 7 February.

  3. Hey, no problem, just hire a couple of people to keep an eye on everything being published on the internet in India:
“Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Microsoft and other Internet services have been instructed by an Indian court to filter and delete insulting content. By doing so, the Indian court made it clear that the service provider also carries responsibility for contents spread by website users. According to BBC, Google & Co. must therefore filter all content in the future and delete it as necessary…”

  4. In overturning the 2010 decision of the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario to award $2,000 to each man for “violation of their inherent right to be free from discrimination and for injury to their dignity, feelings and self-respect,” the Divisional Court instead ordered them and the tribunal to pay legal costs of $20,000 to the librarian and to the Peel Law Association, which runs the library.

  5. That vid was real kitschy, really had the feel of the mid-60s, hell, I thought Mr Spock and Captain Kirk were going to materialize in the middle of it.
And as for Gale, well, Turdeau did have taste in women, although the wife was a true mutt, but the liaisons, well, that’s another story.

  6. Re: Gale Garnett
This isn’t one of her best songs, but she sure made up for it in “We’ll Sing in the Sunshine.”
So Trudeau did her a couple of times.
As he was doing her–she asked–“How is it??”
“I don’t know” said Pierre. “It’s just in.”
Now you know where the name “came” from.

  7. Sorry for posting Twice Kate. I only do this because I know this is dear to your heart. I like it myself to be honest.

  9. Bottom line seems to be that if you oppose Obama, you’re a racist and if you don’t overwhelmingly approve of every aspect of PET’s life, you’re a jealous, old white man who never gets laid. Well apart from the last part being pretty much true, I’m still in favour of the De-Trudeau-ization of Canada.

“Tory bill to end long-gun registry comes to final Commons vote tonight”
“OTTAWA – The federal Conservatives are poised to realize a long-sought goal as a bill to end the long-gun registry comes to a final vote in the Commons this evening.
Public Safety Minister Vic Toews said it’s the end of a campaign that began for him 15 years ago, then he was attorney general in Manitoba.
He says it’s an important day for Conservatives, who have opposed the registry for years.
Toews says the registry is a waste of money, which does nothing to fight gun crime or save lives.
The minister says the registry does penalize law-abiding hunters and farmers.
The Conservative majority in the Commons means the legislation will pass easily and go on to the Senate, where the Tories also have a majority.”

  13. The Conservative majority in the Commons means the legislation will pass easily and go on to the Senate, where the Tories also have a majority.”
and this brings howls of “unfair” and “tyranny” from the liebrals that rammed the original legislation through against the wishes of their own members and using dippers literally hiding behind curtains to break the unofficial agreement that equal numbers of members would be kept in the House during off-hours to avoid snap votes like that…the original legislation couldn’t even be held to a true vote since it was so bad but junking it is an abomination ? hypocrisy they name is liebral.

  14. an oldie but a goodie…
In Washington , D.C. An old priest lay dying in the hospital. For years he had f…aithfully served the people of the nation’s capital and was well known among the elected officials. He motioned for his nurse to come near…
    “Yes, Father?” said the nurse.
“I would really like to see President Obama and Speaker Pelosi before I die”, whispered the priest.
“I’ll see what I can do, Father”, replied the nurse.. The nurse sent the request to the President and Congress and waited for a response. Soon the word arrived; President Obama and Nancy Pelosi would be delighted to visit the priest.
As they went to the hospital, Obama commented to Pelosi, “I don’t know why the old priest wants to see us, but it will certainly help our images and might even get me re-elected.” Pelosi agreed that it was a good thing..
When they arrived at the priest’s room, the priest took Obama’s hand in his right hand and Pelosi’s hand in his left hand. There was silence, and a look of serenity on the old priest’s face.
Finally President Obama spoke.. “Father, of all the people you could have chosen, why did you choose us to be with you as you near the End?”
The old priest slowly replied, “I have always tried to pattern my life after our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
    “Amen”, said Obama.
    “Amen”, said Pelosi.
The old priest continued, “Jesus died between two lying, cheating, thieves; I would like to do the same.”

  15. Good piece on the HHS-mandated purchase of insurance coverage for contraceptives, et al, by Yuval Levin, over at NRO. E.g.:

It is about liberty as such, and the threats posed to it by Obamacare as a whole. It powerfully reinforces the case for replacing this detestable law, and for replacing its authors, with alternatives far more friendly to freedom and a properly limited government—not to mention far better able to actually address the problems with our health-care system.

  18. Good quote maz2 – Reading the Christmas issue of the Spectator, Charles Moore (not to be taken lightly) said he had the Americans, David Frum and his wife (Americans?) over for the holidays and they liked very much his Labrador, and that Frum informed him that all Labradors paws gave off the odour of popcorn! Moore said he followed up on it with a canine expert, and it is true, though unknown why. Perhaps Kate can enlighten us further? The trick for me now, is to sniff a Labrador’s paws without getting caught in the act.

  19. IIRC he also called Frum a conservative. Maybe Mr. Moore is thinking of some different Frums.
