  18. The CBC interviewed a former Enbridge employee from the US a few weeks ago. He claimed Enbridge had covered up 600 leaks or some other sort of rubbish. I wonder if it’s the same guy. I also wonder if Acid Happens will do an investigative interview on him and Greenpeace now. Yeah right…

    How coincidental that a man just happens to have a seizure when the camera crew is there to film it; didn’t see any ambulance outside the victims house either when he made his plea. Talk about fake emotion from the sex offender – please help us he begs.
    I think we should help him, and more importantly, the Keystone pipeline project by exposing John as the criminal he is. It will do damage to their anti-pipeline campaign for sure. The entire film will most certainly be discredited.
    Ezra and the folks at ethical oil need to know about this.

  31. A friend is an engineer in Edmonton. He told me that the phenomenon of oil in rivers is natural in this part of Alberta. That bitumen in the ground has been there for millions of years, and that is why it is profitable to get it out. We didn’t put it there, nature did. He describes the oil sands development as the greatest environmental cleanup ever undertaken by man.
    But for full disclosure he is employed by an evil oil services engineering firm.

  34. The people of Ft Chip have always had poor health and a higher than normal incidence of cancer. The elders tell stories of people always being sick. Prior to the oil sands development they blamed it on the WAC Bennett dam. The Athabaska river flows through a region of natural oil seeps that have always contaminated the water.
    Previous federal and provincial governments have tried to move the people to a safer location but they refuse to leave.

  38. From looking at some of his Youtube videos, he seems to make a lot of dubious and self-aggrandizing claims. Among them, that he was awarded a Bronze Star medal from the US Navy for “saving a man’s life”. He makes a point of this several times.
    Also, as far as I can tell, he was never an actual employee of Enbridge (though the Greenpeace video tries to lead us to believe he was). Rather it seems he was more likely a temporary casual labour hire by a cleanup contractor. He claims his position was “yard boss” (whatever that’s supposed to mean?), and that he was paid $120,000 per year. Sounds pretty fishy. Just how many oil spills does Battle Creek, MI have, that he would have a permanent job cleaning them up — and at that rate of pay.
    All in all, he gives the impression of being some guy who’s trying to create some notoriety for himself as a wanna-be “whistle-blower”. I’d bet the harder you look into his story, the more holes you find, just like Greenpeace.

  39. It appears that most of the comments are more concerned that a short segment of the Greenpeace criticism is voiced by a convicted pervert than by the bogus anti-pipeline message in the video. Isn’t that missing the point? There are much bigger issues at stake here than some pervert’s heinous crime, or what he’s wearing. The perverted fascination with the nature of his crime that some comments display is really creepy.
    I don’t agree with the Greenpeace position of blowing-out-of-proportion the remote possibility of a spill and the environmental damage it MIGHT cause. The message is contrived bullsh!t, regardless of who is stating it.

    Aside from the content I mean.
    Is it the lowest trafficed website on the net? Did not find a single story with a comment. Not one. Looking at the FB, Google+ and Twitter feeds off each story? Next to nothing. For some they cannot even be bothered to refer themselves to their online world.

I also noticed no one comments, you would think with all the anger, ginned up by the CBC etc there would be comments, especially with this story about Pee Wee Hermans look-alike hating oilsands, that’s serious, but we still have to wait for Lady Gaga and Robert Redford to weigh in I guess.

  46. As an informed Canadian, regardless of the criminal history of the individual in the video, I would not necessarily discount the propaganda value of this video. I don’t play the game the MSM and the left play, by shooting the messenger, or blindly following the herd. I look at the validity of the message. The film seems to expose environmental damage due to insufficient cleanup by Enbridge. That is a message that will resonate with most Canadians. If true, I myself would like to know why, wouldn’t you. As a pro-oil supporter, I realize that we have to take necessary risks to enjoy our standard of living, but the worse environmental crime a company can do is evading it’s fiduciary responsibility to clean up after itself. Do the crime do the time applies to all, no exceptions, at least in my books.
