Lord Justice Leveson expressed sympathy for Bunglawala’s plea and said that any government regulation of the British media would have to extend to the Internet and include blogs, so as to ensure a “level playing field” between print and online media.
Lord Hunt, the chairman of the Press Complaints Commission, a self-regulatory body which deals with complaints about the editorial content of newspapers and magazines, recently said he is looking into the idea of regulating bloggers and online publications. According to him, “at the moment, it [the Internet] is like the Wild West out there. We need to appoint a sheriff.”
Lord Hunt would invite bloggers on current affairs to voluntarily agree to regulation. They would receive a seal-of-approval rating…
The article at the Stonegate Institute notes that Inayat Bunglawala, the Muslim activist who testified in favour of press restrictions, and who “strongly objects to the use of the phrase ‘Islamic terrorism'”, once described Osama bin Laden as a “freedom fighter for…Muslims in Britain” and praised the courage of Omar Abdul-Rahman, the ringleader of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

I guess one advantage of having a “seal of approval” for blogs would be an easy way of knowing who the dhimmi bloggers were. I suspect that islamofascists want to totally shut down people they disapprove of rather than just denying them the seal of dhimmitude.
The ban on criticizing the 7th century irrational beliefs of an epileptic pedophile is a very good reason to withdraw from the UN.

To those that venerate the British media, be aware the days of factual honest reporting or the mere understanding of investigative and balanced view points are long gone, and the conservatives, and so called conservative press, a figment of the self publicist editors who would no more understand the definition of conservative than the boy dave presently residing in Downing Street.
As well as possessing a finely tuned sense of balance and fairness, the seal of approval can bounce a ball on it’s nose.

I say there are plenty of laws and agencies out there now that balance free speech and seditious behaviour – with far to little attention being paid to anti seditious behaviour. Why doesn’t his little commission try to control sedition?

MALE (AFP) — At the Maldives’ National Museum, smashed Buddhist statues are testament to the rise of Islamic extremism and Taliban-style intolerance in a country famous as a laid-back holiday destination.
On Tuesday, as protesters backed by mutinous police toppled president Mohamed Nasheed, a handful of men stormed the Chinese-built museum and destroyed its display of priceless artifacts from the nation’s pre-Islamic era.
“They have effectively erased all evidence of our Buddhist past,” a senior museum official told AFP at the now shuttered building in the capital Male, asking not to be named out of fear for his own safety.
“We lost all our 12th century statues. They were made of coral stone and limestone. They are very brittle and there is no way we can restore them,” he explained.
“I wept when I heard that the entire display had gone. We are good Muslims and we treated these statues only as part of our heritage. It is not against Islam to display these exhibits,” he said.
Five people have since been arrested after they returned the following day to smash the CCTV cameras, he said.
The authorities have banned photography of the damage, conscious that vandalism of this kind which echoes the 2001 destruction of the Bamiyan Buddha statues in Afghanistan by the Taliban is damaging for the nation’s image.
