ep, If you deliberately use the GMO trait without paying Monsanto, they can sue you. If you don’t make use of the trait (i.e. use glyphosate on the crop) you don’t pay. That applies whether it’s the neighbour’s seeds blowing in or seed you bought from Monsanto. An example would be a late spring frost that kills newly emerged plants, but before glyphosate has been applied for weed control.

I could care less what other people put in their bodies, smoke, drink, heroin, or rat poison. It’s yours to abuse as you wish….I choose to eat what I hunt, fish or grow myself. I buy organic when I can, …, black coffee is my vice. But that’s just me; I’m no enviro weenie, or supporting the “protesters” simply raising a point.
Exactly the point I was making as well. Smart people know that the best retirement investment you can make is staying healthy. If you want the chemical cuisine that industrial agriculture brings then go for it; enjoy your cancer since you’ve got a 3 out of 5 chance of getting it with an industrial diet.
spike: not fair. N-60 I’ve been spraying crops since 16 when after an afternoon I was as wet as the crop. The sprays we use kill plants that we don’t want not people. That would not make senses,has we couldn’t sell our crops to dead people. Did you notice people are living longer today.

He he, your story reminds me of many years ago starting my oilfield career. I was sent into the mud shack on a drilling rig to relieve the derrick man mixing mud in a hopper. I had been packing in bags of chemical for him for week’s prior, so time to move up a little. He was absolutely coated in brown, yellow dust wearing a crusty old pair of goggles to see through the chemical fog. I asked him for a dust mask, and he just laughed telling me how he’s been “doin it for years an it ain’t affected him none” though his near toothless yap and icicles of chemical dust hanging off his moustache.
I couldn’t explain in writing the ridiculous dumb ass hillbilly way he looked, but I still belly laugh at the thought.
Needless to say I procured a mask and moved on faster than expected in that part of the career faze. Thanks for the memory 🙂

The people who are living longer today were born, raised, and spent most of their lives in an environment with relatively few food additives and chemicals. The ones who are dying from a variety of cancers were exposed to long term workplace chemicals or self-induced chemical exposure like smoking. Many studies are concluding that kids today are likely to have shorter life spans than their parents.

a@c; The comment that I made to north of 60 was fair.He is uninformed about glysophate.The reason that Monsanto is such a bad company is that its not european.All the German and French chemical companies make chemicals for genetically modified crops.Their chemicals are expensive to make,glysophate isnt.The ONLY reason that they can compete is because of the use agreements.The $15 an acre pays for developing new plants by Monsanto.The Germans and French get their govts.to pay for doing the same.

The best way to deal with the “Occupy” folks is to report nothing that they do. If they have no platform, they will eventually fade away.
