January 26 is Australia Day, a mid-summer statutory holiday during which the men, full as a coog, walk around in budgie smugglers having a Captain Cook at the white pointers while the women go looking for their men — at least, that’s what an expatriate New Zealander told me. In honour of our upside-down Anglospheric friends, then, here’s a stirring rendition of their national anthem Advance Australia Fair. Cheers!

  5. I wish PM Cameron luck with that. The previous thread “Where We Live” would suggest that there is maybe some urgency in making reforms to prevent the radical Islamist problem from growing before it gets out of hand, that is if it is not already too late.

  14. A forgotten Canadian woman, Isabel Paterson who should be an inspiration to North America – she knows why the ‘present’ President wants to keep kids in school until age 18. Here is a short quote from her book “The God of the Machine”, 1943:
