Delingpole might be over-optimistic, but I take my hat off to him all the same.
I suppose we each have our own indicators that we will use to conclude that the battle has essentially been won.
For me the indicator will be when the BC government gets rid of the evil carbon tax. I don’t even care if they simply lump it with the gas tax (knowing how much the BC government loves taxes it is highly unlikely they will actually eliminate the tax).
As long as a “carbon tax” on gasoline still exists, it means the battle wages on.
It would also be really nice to see Gore, Mann and Suzuki thrown into a 3rd world jail for fraud side-by-side with a few rapists, drug dealers and murders, but it will probably be a cold day in hell before that happens.

Delingpole is a bit more optimistic than I am about “the most purblind, state-addicted, left-leaning voter”. They have a remarkable ability to ignore government malfeasance (as long as it is a left leaning government, of course). Those that are disillusioned with green energy subsidies but not ready to throw in the towel are now reverting back to the “revenue neutral” carbon tax scheme.
This kind of self immolating environmental delusion (AGW) is a luxury that our economies can no longer afford. We won, its only a matter of time now.
We ain’t won yet, at least not until Barack Hussien Obama aka Barry Soetoro, or whatever his name is is gone.

Governments are too addicted to the money they get from green taxes,and friends of government are too addicted to subsidies with our tax money while they gleefully experiment with the “solution” of the day.
No one will EVER go to prison, not Gore,Suzuki,Mann,Pachauri,that’s NOT how the system works,jail is for the little people, not the elites.
We’ve won a dubious victory,made some of the shills back off a bit,but we’re still paying the carbon taxes and green fees and eco-fees,and we will pay forever.
We can vote for whatever Party we want, but the status quo is not going to be changed. Some Conservative businessmen are heavily invested in the “green” energy business, guys that sit on riding ass’n boards,and they are not about to see their business disappear.

I can’t fault anybody for being pessimistic, but let’s unmix that metaphor. We’ve busted out of Stalingrad and we’re positively racing toward Berlin with the Nazis in full retreat.

btw,I very much enjoyed mixing that metaphor,if we’d landed at Normandy,(or was it Norway),and pushed on to Moscow,we wouldn’t have had to endure thirty years of “cold war”.
