  1. The Attawaytospendit situation keeps getting more surreal all the time.
To paraphrase THE BARD, “Methinks she doth protest too much.”
Just how much has her highness and her cronies squirrelled away? Perhaps this is the watershed moment where the FN come under the scrutiny and investigation they so richly deserve. Would it not be a surprise they are their own worst enemy?

I smell a rat and its name is Obama
In the past several days, two senior members of the Obama administration and the United States Ambassador to Belgium have publicly levelled accusations against Israel which are laughable, absurd, false, ignorant, indefensible and a complete and utter denial of reality, history and Islam.

  5. Ezra Levant had a bit on his monologue tonight about how the CBC executives are either behind or support some twitter troll. Talk about shocking. I mean the CBC is truly behind this “@scum_tv” twitter user this has got to be the bottom of the barrel. It’s probably @kady.

“Survey shows 17% fall in number of people who would pay ‘much higher prices’ for ‘sake of the environment'”
“There has been dramatic decline over the past decade in the public’s support for tackling climate change in Britain. Backing for higher green taxes and charges has waned and scepticism about the seriousness of the threat to the environment has increased.
The British Social Attitudes survey shows that in 2000 43% of the population would pay “much higher prices” for “the sake of the environment”. Last summer support fell to just 26%, with the poorest sections of society most reluctant to save the planet with their cash.
Over the same period the public has become much more sceptical about the science behind climate change. In 2010 37% said many claims about environmental threats were “exaggerated”, up from 24% in 2000.”

“Greeks rush to pull savings out of banks, worsening the crisis”
“A Greek bank run looks to be in full swing.
In an article from German magazine Der Spiegel on Tuesday, the scope of Greek bank withdrawals is shown in alarming clarity. According to Georgios Provopoulos, the governor of the central bank of Greece, savings and time deposits fell by 13 to 14 billion euros in September and October of this year.
    And it’s only getting worse.
“In the first 10 days of November the decline continued on a large scale,” Mr. Provopoulos old the economic affairs committee of the Greek parliament last month.
All that money spilling out of Greek banks is creating a credit crunch that’s making lending nearly impossible. The scope of withdrawals really hits you when you step back and look at just how much money Greeks have pulled out since last year.

“The news that Standard & Poor’s is mulling a mass downgrade of the euro zone countries came at a critical stage of Europe’s debt crisis. It was leaked shortly after French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel revealed their grand plan Monday to enforce vigorous fiscal discipline on the region, and three days before the Brussels leaders’ summit that promises a “comprehensive package” to solve the debt crisis.”
“The formal announcement that S&P has put 15 of the 17 euro zone countries on credit review “with negative implications” is being dismissed as politically motivated by senior European officials and central bankers. Their suspicions are understandable; the United States’ nascent recovery probably would go into reverse if the euro zone, already sliding into recession, fails to snuff out the two-year-old debt crisis.”

“China braces as Europe’s simmering crisis adds to strains on economy with its own problems”
“HONG KONG – Europe’s festering debt crisis is adding to strains on China just as the country is pricking its property bubble and facing a manufacturing downturn, limiting the ability of the world’s No. 2 economy to prop up global growth.
Leaders in Europe are navigating a crucial week as they work to find a breakthrough at a summit Friday to avoid the disintegration of the euro common currency and the global financial panic that could ensue.
Such a scenario would slam China by crimping economic growth through lower demand for its exports. It would also prompt Beijing to slow the rise of its currency to a crawl — exacerbating trade tensions with the U.S. and other nations that say China’s yuan is already too cheap.
Even if the euro common currency shared by 17 nations remains mostly intact, China and other Asian countries will still face the daunting prospect of a recession in Europe next year and anemic growth in the U.S. — both crucial markets for the region’s cars, electronics, textiles and other exports.”

“Home prices in China most notorious “ghost city,” a city called Kangbashi constructed outside Ordos, have fallen from $1,100 per square foot in 2006 to $470 per square, according to the Hong Kong Standard. In the past few months alone prices have plunged by almost a third.
This severe drop, amid declining prices around China, has convinced both the people and developers that Kangbashi is a lost cause.”

“There was, however, disruption during the course of the march in which a group of about 300 protesters, dressed in official COP17 volunteer uniforms tore up placards, physically threatened and attacked activists participating in the march. In spite of heavy police presence throughout the march, including mounted police, riot police, air-patrol and snipers, and requests to address this disruption, police did not take any action. This was a major failure of the police to act to prevent this group from destabilising the march and injuring other activists.”

“Arab world faces hidden AIDS epidemic”
“BEIRUT — In an Arab world rife with social stigma, government inaction and often limited access to education and medical care, experts warn that an HIV epidemic is on the rise.
“In the Middle East and North Africa, the HIV epidemic has been on the rise for the past decade,” said Aleksandar Sasha Bodiroza, HIV/AIDS adviser at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
“The number of people needing treatment in the region has spiked from approximately 45,000 in 2001 to nearly 160,000 in 2010,” Bodiroza told AFP.
“This has put the Middle East and North Africa among the top two regions globally with the fastest growing HIV epidemic.””
