This Friday is the infamous “Black Friday” in America. Apparently some members of the “Occupy” movement have plans to disrupt retail transactions.
I wonder if a business owner has the legal right to personally sue anyone who prevents them from legally earning money? An estimate of losses per minute by any disruption could be established. Divide that by the number of people identified as participating in said disruption. Would Mommy & Daddy of the Lil’ Socialist be willing to pay off such a major fine?!
I suspect that shoppers in quest of the bargains will ‘deal’ with any Occupiers directly!!!

Depends on their actions.
Entering and occupying a mall or a department store could be dealt with by enforcing regulations against trespassing.
But of course, a protest outside the store or mall on public property would be another matter.
You cannot prosecute people simply because their right to freedom of expression crimps your trade.

If I was one of the retailers expecting some “occupy” activity I would check my computer security to guard against hackers.

Saw two women get into a fist-fight at a Myers store over a jug of orange juice on sale! Many will wait in line 8-12 hours prior to the stores opening for the sales. Pity the fools who tries to interfere with these shopping ‘missions’!
I have seen the big fat Walmart people and big fat rabid shoppers at other big box stores herded by the front door at opening time.
They will trample to death, anyone who gets in the way of a bauble that in on sale with limited numbers available.

Malls and stores are all private property. Watch how fast private Mall Cops haul away the commie asses of any Occupy protesters stupid enough to try slowing down PRIVATE commcercial transactions taking place on PRIVATE property. And those security guards will be vigorously assisted by “The 47%” who actually PAY TAXES in the U.S.
The problem is if they were able to fine these protesters these same protwesters would start another protest because they would say the “1%” has all of the money and must pay their fines.

If “occupiers” get in the way of people who are going about their lawful daily business, the people should simply “move” them out of the way.
The Occupiers believe they are actually the 99% and that bargain shoppers (also part of their supposed 99%) will support them and boycott the stores.

If I recall, down in Texas retailers hired off duty cops who were in uniform, right down to the “heat” they had on their hips. Just a guess but I’d assume security folks would be more concerned with protecting their bosses property and customers than a cop trying to maintain the level of peace their political masters wish.

Although not Black Friday, our local (Edmonton area) Walmart has a 32″ LCD TV on for $208.00 this Friday. With the limit of two, I guess it will be one for the bedroom and one for the living room! I’m eyeing up a sweet 70 inch (yes, SEVENTY INCH) model for the family room!

I like the transfer your money protest. I thought these occupiers were all poor, homeless etc. Transferring your pittance from a bank to a CU is really going to hurt the big mean rich corporate bankers. And as for the CU, in my town the CU is the biggest & richest financial institution in town and I know a number of people who have transferred their financial dealings out of the CU because they found them to be such tight asses with their money.

A Walmart parking lot is private property. I doubt the company would stand for anyone reducing the number of parking spaces available for potential customers.
