ELIMINATE THE REDUNDANT, LEFT PROMOTING STATE BROADCASTER
If Canada had elected a legitimate, small-c fiscal conservative Prime Minister who didn’t consistently succumb to the left, he would eradicate the state radio & TV broadcaster that non-socialists Canadians do not trust to present the news equitably or impartially. It is a prejudiced, anti-American, pro-feminist pro-gay mortification to any Canadian who is not a far-left liberal.
The “money draining” $1.16 billion a year grant is an embarrassment and humiliation that fails to reflect the social consensus of the majority of Canadians, but promulgates the talking points of the far left. For the unaccountable state broadcaster, informing the public means giving a hyped-up version of the NDP’s talking points, but to apportion hours scrutinizing, criticizing any conservative policy.
Now that Canada has 4 national television networks plus regional networks, privately owned independent stations, and provincial stations as well as specialty and pay for view channels all in both French and English, satellite networks, thousands of radio stations and the internet producing Canadian content, the 1991 Canadian Broadcast Act should be re-written to eliminate the state broadcaster. The state broadcaster is scripted by left-wingers and watched mostly by the far-left, but paid for my people who actually work for a living and pay taxes. Because of its massive subsidy this Canadian, discomfiture is an unfair competitor.
One of the numerous rationales for the exceptionally low quality of the state broadcaster’s regularly error overflowing “news” is its policy of sacrificing excellence in order to promote its crypto-communists propagandist agenda. The state broadcaster also adopted a quota system that desecrates tax dollars on an affirmative action hiring program for immigrants even with their habitually sub-substandard journalistic credentials.
The state broadcaster’s far left, vastly over-paid (as much as one-third more than private sector broadcasters) bureaucrats consistently produce “factoids”—rhetoric pretending to be facts but, in reality, are Orwellian spin reprinted from the NDP’s talking points. Even leftist media expert Mary Vipond agrees when she says: “ The CBC is also highly unionized, which increases its costs and decreases its flexibility”. These Cro-Magnon bureaucrats consistently delude the public, some times by intent and other times because they hire these semi-qualified, affirmative action government purported “journalists”.
As opposed to producing quality, informative, balanced, unbiased journalism, the Canadian tax payers are paying for a state broadcaster, with an extra large bureaucracy, that has an immense creditability gap, is guilty of oversimplification and “dumping down” news, neglects to distinguish between opinion and comments, favors form over content, uncompromisingly encourages anti-Americanism, and has no public confidence with anyone not on the radical left!

They’re obviously hiding stuff. We are another layer deeper and getting close to breaking through. I suspect when we finally get to the heart of how CBC has been (mis)spending Billions of our tax dollors, it will make the adscam scandal appear trivial by comparison.
I want to know how much money Father Mansbridge makes being a news reader, and how much Suzuki has stolen from taxpayers to propagate his Eco Fascism to Canadians????
Here is a bottom end of how much Mansbridge makes
1) Coyne admitted he gets the standard stipend of $500 to appear on At Issue.
2) At Issue is on for maybe a 1/3 of the show. SO thats $1500 an hour for a rate of pay.
3) Mansbridge is likely compensated by salary but works in probably at least 6 hours of work in a day 5 days a week. So thats 9,000 a day. or 45,000 a week
4) They will pay him as 52 weeks a year so thats at least 2.3 million a year.
I may be high, but even if I am half wrong he is making 7 figures a year….before benefits and pension.

It’s not just Mansbridge’s salary that interests me,it’s those of no talent schmucks like Mercer,Strombo-etc., and the THH 22 Mins crowd that excites my curiosity.
And “Little Mosque…”, I’d love to find out what they’re paid for that pathetic excuse for a comedy show.
Mansbridge IS at least,a competent news reader,and talking heads make BIG money in every market.

Yup, what an oxymoron: CBC comedy.
Ezra is talking about this NOW,just started and is slated for 17 minutes,SunNews,of course.
CBC has the article on their website. It’s buried in the politics section and will likely be even harder to find in about an hour or two.
The comments are censored(pre-moderated) as always and are leaning towards ‘those damn conservatives,they’re worse’.
However,the Globe and Mail’s comments are about 10 to 1 in favour of ‘It’s about time’.

CBC will appeal this to Supremes, and probably even try to insist that they need “UN Security Council” mandate to boot.

Well, knowing the CBC’s execs “reluctance” to being held accountable to the taxpayer, and their willingness to keep hidden the staggering levels of corruption encrusted within the CBC bunker. I would say there are some pretty happy lawyers in Canada today. I just hope when the CBC loses again, this time at the Supreme Court level, that we get a full accounting of the money wasted on these taxpayer funded lawyers.
machiavelli, Chris in the Bridge: I would hope that you soon begin to understand the fine art of politics. What the CBC is doing right now is loading the rifle for the PM to put the CBC out of its misery once and for all. The PM is not a dictator and must govern for the majority of Canadians. There are a good number of Canadians who have an emotional attachment to the CBC. If the CBC in its blind hatred for the PM begins to tip the balance so that more and more Canadians want the CBC removed then removing the CBC will cause nary a ripple in public reaction. If the PM moves too soon the balance may tip the other way and the PM could be tossed from office. I look forward to the demise of the CBC as much as you do but a little patience has huge rewards.

I love the irony, given that it was the Mothercorp that broke the “story” about how PMSH is guilty of withholding national security-related information the Great Canadian Proletariat was entitled to (because Mothercorp said so) – thus giving birth to the left’s favorite why-we-need-to-dump-Harper talking point.
