I suspect DR. Fox could also provide some insight onthe Neutrino’s faster dash than the ‘speed of light’ which has the phyisist colony baffled.
Or AGW.
Someone is going to say it. Might as well be me.
Is this where the Obama speech writers got their inspiration?
∴ charisma ≠ honesty
This is what politicians do.
Greyone beat me to it. This experiment clearly explains Barry’s success. Just say -anything at all- in mellifluous tones with complete conviction.
I’m a college prof meself, and I find that delivery is important for keeping students interested.
It is said that a great actor can read the phone book and make it interesting, and this guy seems pretty good. But when it’s all delivery and no content, the next day nothing sticks with you, while if there is some content, you might dwell on what you heard.
It’s like movies: We’ve walked out of theatres thinking we’ve seen a good film, but often the next day you can barely remember anything in it, while a better movie has us thinking for days.
BTW, I remember reading that Michael J. Fox had to stick the J. in his name (which is not his actual initial) because there was another Michael Fox working and in the actors’ union when he started, I guess it was this guy.
That WAS the Obama speech writer!- No inspiration needed.
This may explain a lot of things about experts and how they impress us, and they actually formulate rules and regulations for our society. This would be funny if it wasn’t something that is actually happening to us in our world and we depend on somebody else to do our thinking for us and we don’t use any common sense and are impressed by so called experts. This lecture was a complete fraud given to professionals where when you listen to it he says nothing that makes any sense , it is all mumble jumble, some big words used, but the audience of professionals ate it all up and even asked questions at the end. Many of these professional types are setting up government policy to deal with our social problems and we take for granted that they actually know what they are talking about e.g. causes of crime in our society, causes of poverty, or how to help the aboriginal population , how to deal with Quebec etc.
Hmmmm…….reminds me of an episode of Cheers. Where the politician waffles and throws nonsense and big words at the audience and they eat it up. Only Frasier Crane has the intelligence to realize the man had actually said nothing at all.
Its the same feeling I get when I read something over at skeptical science. They seem to talk a lot but very little of it makes any sense!
Politicians use this technique all the time when asked a difficult question.
