Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“Hey bro,
could you spare a couple trillion?”…
Gotta scare the schyt out of the peeps to make them beg for QEIII.
Repeat until the lowest denominated bill is a $trillion. (Google Zimbabwe inflation to see what happens next)
Excellent link. Going back to NFIB’s report, I found a 25 year survey of 8 business problems . Since Obama came to power, Sales have become the main problem and regulation has shot up. Although taxes have always been a big headache, they aren’t worse. And, perversely, labor quality has gotten better, thanks to the competition for jobs.

The United States is in enormous trouble and has an administration in the White House that is not only incompetent but is actually making matters worse with its policy-making. Against the backdrop of a faltering US economy, we have an absolute financial disaster happening in Europe with the potential for a financial sector meltdown that will make 2008 look like the roaring 20s.
Notwithstanding all of this, the biggest issue at the Republican presidential debates has been whether there should be an opt-in or opt-out for parents when it comes to having their daughters vaccinated against HPV infection. While the tinfoil hat brigade and their enablers in the “HPV is only a slut problem and God wants them to die” robes fiddle, Rome burns. No wonder the US is screwed.
The American economy would rebound tomorrow if Obama resigned today.
Joe:
The American economy would rebound tomorrow if Obama resigned today.
Sorry, not even close. For one thing, that would make Joe Biden president. You think he’d be an improvement?!
Second, all that would do is increase uncertainty. As everyone’s favourite whipping boy, JM Keynes, pointed out, uncertainty is the biggest problem facing business. When business is fairly certain the economy is going to grow, when business feels it understands the regulatory and tax environment, and when business feels that the financial environment is stable, it will invest. That’s what really creates jobs, not government redistribution. Absent any one of these three conditions, business is hesitant; absent two of three, downright skittish. Absent all three – as we are today – capital goes on strike.
As has been pointed out here by many, US businesses are sitting on over $1.25 trillion in cash. They’re not willing to invest until the way forward is clear, and with the community organizer and his minions in charge, the future is cloudy at best.
The private sector is definitely on strike, an action that will reverse itself should the election results of Nov. 2012 be more favourable.
KevinB: Anything including Joe Biden would be an improvement on the disaster that sits in the oval office today. Biden is an idiot but at least he is not an anti-American idiot like Oblama.
Note the trend in the numbers. They are similar to the trend in Barry O’s numbers.
KevinB: “You think he’d be an improvement?!”
No kidding. He’s Dan Quale all over again.
You mentioned the tax environment. There’s something else. No one’s investing a dime in any kind of heavy industry until the EPA is permanently and fully reined in.
It looks like a Junkies bank account.

I did say “when business feels it understands the regulatory and tax environment”
I think we agree with each other.

It would make a lot of sense to impeach Obama now, even if Biden got in. Unfortunately, the wellbeing of 300 million Americans is a trivial issue compared to maintaining Obama’s presidency, which is the left’s vehicle for exacting vengeance against the nation they hate so much, America.
The Oblameya administration is well aware of the Trillions in cash sitting on the sidelines, but are unrepentant in their extremism, so what else to do, but send the DOJ in, and lay charges against Wall St banks.
Chicago style bully politics, at your service!
I think there is a strategic misunderstanding amongst those who oppose the Obama administration. His fundamental goal is to transform the United States into someting closer to the socialism and crony capitalism of Western Europe. If he cannot do that, then breaking America is an acceptable “win” as well. Since the 2010 election, it is clear he cannot transform America so that leaves the other, alternative, victory.
I’m getting really scared of big ears myself, he’s launching a network to report who smears him and I also play a Gibson 335, this is not good. The sooner he gets caught with 2 Monicas and a sheep the better for all of us, his policies of spend and speech are a total failure, the Obama, “One Big Assed Mistake America” time is over.
The market cheerleaders in the corporate financials call it a “sputtering” economy but from where I’m standing it looks more like a “sputtering” depression mired in stagflation – and every single negative impact on the economy is a result of Keynesian/soviet central economic planning/intervention.
Producers/workers/businesses need government intervention like Michael Moore needs another tape worm.

Hell, Slick Willy was keepin’ good company compared to Jughead…
yeah, yeah, blah, blah , blah…. the same rhetoric is directed at every president the year before an election. That’s just the American way.
Chill out, the GOP House majority that could fix it isn’t interested in doing anything, so you might as well just ignore the BS. Pay it no mind, nothing important will happen till this time next year.
Sounds like 1937 when the glimmer of a recovery was snuffed out by continuing government interference in the workings of the private sector – it is the year that people really began to despair about the future and confidence collapsed.
No, when I took Math I distinctly remember the teachers telling me that negative is definitely less than nothing.
The GOP house can pass anything they want, but Oblameya, ZERO, Jughead, nom du jour would VETO anything sensible they put forward.
True, it would make for interesting politics, but it would also define stalemate, largely to THE ONE’s advantage. The GOP does not want to aid OBOZO in any way shape or form. And, it is basically working, he keeps screwing up without really trying.

Agree wholeheartedly.
Biden doesn’t, so far as I know, have a lifelong love affair with Alinsky & Communism. If he wound up with some non-pinko advisers, he might actually try to do something constructive and helpful…
