Condolences and respects to all who are grieved and bereaved. A special tip of the hat to Pavol Demitra – an exciting and talented player. Prayers especially for wives and children. So tragic.
Consider that hockey players travel so many air miles in so many conditions over such vast distances, it is amazing that this type of loss is so rare.
Seems like hockey has more than its share of these tragedies. Remember the Swift Current bus crash?

I’ve been heartsick all day.Took a Univ.class many yrs ago with Brad McCrimmon..had Wheaties season tickets,when Brad played,on the best Wheat King team ever.So very sad. Sincerest sympathies to all who loved them..their former teamates.Just damn.

No experience with Russian airlines. Travelled to Moscow for the ’74 WHA-Russia hockey series. Those who flew on Aeroflot were pretty disturbed about their flights. One of the few times I enjoyed Air Canada.
One of the major complaints of hockey players returning to N. America from the KHL was the sketchy flying conditions. Aircraft were ancient.
Just updated on Fox Canada…2 have been updated to stable.Such a tragedy.But let us remember the hundreds who will die on our highways today.
