If you should encounter any of these idiots attempting to explicate the London riots with words like “disenfranchised” and “impoverished”, just tell them to Google Camille Cacnio Vancouver Riot and hear how an actual (non-disenfranchised) rioter justifies her actions:

Once your eyes come back into focus, it’s AMAZING……. delusions seem to just vanish.One is astonished at how much clearer things are.
Just watching a report on CBC… noticing how the arrested/subdued people in the first five snippets are all white. Out of about a dozen arrest or “police action” snips, fully 9-10 show white men being flogged or in cuffs. Two have young black men being arrested. One shows police kicking in the door of the house of a young black male, who is taken away in cuffs.

Cut out the media gatekeepers and go to the London Metropolitan Police site where there are photos of “people of interest”(aka. looters) that the MP want to ‘interview’ and you’ll notice that ‘minorities’ make up the majority of those photos.

Listening on the radio today about the Vancouver riots, and to date no charges, and no one has spent a day in jail. No consequences, what do you bet it happens again? Our justice system sucks.

I have a colleague who goes on about the rioters being the “disenfranchised”, and I have no idea what she means. The term usually refers to those who do not have the right to vote. In Canada, even our most serious criminals (serial killers, etc.) have that right. Perhaps it means that they don’t own a Tim Horton’s.
The author of the “Yorker” article also refers to these “youths” as “excluded” as if this was something done to them. Have they not aggressively excluded themselves from civilized society repeatedly?
Gobi desert – But the Premier promised us there would be hell to pay for the looting, as did the mayor and the Chief of Police. In fact the mayor and his council are talking about destroying the viaducts! Well, I guess that will help keep them out of the downtown, unless they have bicycles. The bobbies have apprehended over 1,000 looters and their booty; guess someone learned from our mistakes!

Comments from the propaganda bureaus of Syria, Libya and Iran seem to agree with ex-page DePape that this is our (or the British) Arab Spring.
Maybe that is what some of the rioters think, but they haven’t articulated it, they have just destroyed property and looted and mugged people. The only people to try to justify it are the left-leaning commentariat. That cannot stand.
The rioters show contempt for other’s property while endangering innocents. They are seeking the thrill of arson, fighting citizens and police for no good reason. Boredom, lack of opportunity, race? None of those is an adequate excuse. They are merely disgusting joy-rioting yoots.
No excuse, no leniency.
Just be glad they didn’t refer to London as a “life reef”…
