  1. You were maybe expecting a professional picture of Ezra, from the competition. How often have we seen this from the mediaparty. And Ezra isn’t even running for office. Hah!

  7. One can only imagine the ratings skyrocket at SUN TV if Kate McMillan would reconsider and join SUN TV as regular contributor along with a Lorne Gunter or Dave Rutherford, eh?

  8. They should have a round table show where four Conservative regulars eviscerate a new liberal guest/victim each and every day.
    Maybe a fifth regular could be kinda liberal. You know, for “balance”.

  15. Not sure I understand how CTV news has 59,000 viewers at 5pm. They regularly get 1 million.
    Is this a segment of the national market?

  17. Way to go Ezra and Sun T.V. Northwestel, the ONLY provider in N. Canada, still pretend that they do not know of a channel named Sun TV. Pathetic. I phone them every week asking about Fox Business and Sun TV. I watch it all on the internet. Thanks for the live streaming Sun TV.

  21. Chip, what’s being compared here is Sun TV vs. CTV news channel in a given time slot. At that time, CTV doesn’t have either their main national evening news formerly hosted by Lloyd Robertson, nor does it have the 6 p.m. evening local news.
    So CTV news will fall fairly heavily between those two times. After all, between 7 and 10:30 it’s primarily a repeat of the same half-hour broadcast.
    Basically what it’s saying is that Ezra is beating a CTV rerun. It’s still not bad considering how far up the dial Sun is and how limited its availability is compared to CTV.

  23. Cgh: the stat I would like to see is the percentage of subscribers that get SunTv that watched Ezra compared the same percentage for ctv’s news channel and the same for cbc’s news channel. Comparing the main channels would qlso be of interest, but not a strictly fair comparison.

  26. The Source with Ezra is the best hour on Canadian TV – and maybe US as well now that Beck is gone from Fox.
    I have always enjoyed Ezras work, but I think he has truly found his niche.

  27. Congratulations Ezra! He always has a great show – his features on Earth Day and the Postal Strike were fantastic.

  28. Good news.
    However, there are two major flaws in Ezra’s interview style.
    1. He interrupts some of his guests far too much. It’s embarrassing to watch him ask a long complicated question, then butt in to ask another related question halfway through the guest’s first sentence of reply.
    2. He sometimes asks questions that say the same thing three or four times in different ways; this wastes valuable air time. Be succinct!
    Just saying.

  29. Ezra, with all his so-called “interview flaws” is a darn sight better than ANYTHING any other media outlet in this country could muster up and while we are at it, let’s include ‘madcow media’ et al.
    Chris Matthews, with his spittle and shaking dog leg are real competition, eh what?!
    I dare anyone to put up anybody in this country or the US who has as extensive grasp on the issues as Ezra. Important issues. Most of the news readers ( let’s face it, that is what they are)would not have the ability to argue or debate.
    They simply are no match.

  31. I sent the link to my cable provider (Access Communications) pointing out that I would much rather have Sun News TV rather than TWO CBC stations, TWO CTV stations and OWN Canada.

    They lie, like maybe they have a bunch of liberanos as shareholders?
