  1. Why would you bother taking a risk as an entrepreneur in the United States now? Why should I take a risk and hand 50% of my upside to the government and keep 100% of the downside? Do people not understand the asymmetry of this? Businesses RISK CAPITAL and sometimes they lose money. There is no reverse tax on losses. The government does not hand you back 50% of your loss the same way they take 50% of your profit.
So of course she’s angry. You put your capital at risk, hand 50% of your profit to the government, and then they claim that you are the problem and should pay more in taxes. And start hiring!

  2. She makes perfect sense. It is estimated that U.S. businesses are sitting on huge cash reserves – estimated at over 2 trillion dollars. When you don’t know what to do in uncertain times, of course you sit and wait it out. This adminstration has poisoned the business environment so badly there is zero confidence on tax rate, the cost of Obamacare, what the banks will charge, the list goes on and on. Anyone who has run a successful enterprise knows how much things cost before they proceed with expansion or hiring.

  3. Ha! Watched this first thing in the a.m. while it was live. First thing that came to my mind was that SDA should feature it. Well done! Hers was a first-class rant!

  4. Left-wing talk radio is full of hosts and callers who think businesses should be forced to spend their money – or the government should take it away from them, which the Obama administration is more than happy to do. No one tells the host or these callers that they should be forced to spend their savings. Jerks. They do reasonably funny fart jokes once in awhile….

  5. American business is doing very well, it’s just not employing Americans. Union entitlement and government programs like Obamacare make it unprofitable to hire Americans. The American labor force shot itself in the foot by wanting too much and now it’s much less expensive to outsource the labor overseas. American businesses exist to make profit, not necessarily to employ Americans. That’s the hard cold truth and a lot of entitlement piglets don’t like it. They did this to themselves.

  6. About time the media let the real people speak. This is exactly how I feel. They keep telling me its my fault I make money and I should feel responsible for this mess like I am a thief or something. Screw them.

  7. Unions have driven the price of labor for goods so high companies that can relocate to non-union jurisdictions, have. Why is a new GM truck 75 thousand, because union lazy asses need 75 bucks an hour. Postal lazy asses hold up our businesses this year so they can fill their bank accounts and bank sick days, in 35 years of running my own show I’ve taken 3 days for being sick, productivity in union infested companies is what causes a lot of monetary problems for everyone, and we bailed their sorry lazy asses out to the tune of a million a job at GM, and people like Phil bitch about the paltry subsidys farmers get!

  8. I like her too. A lot. I want to sing special songs to her and kiss her always. I don’t want to argue with her though. She sounds very persuasive. Very. Persuasive.

  9. Things aren’t all bad in the US. I’m sure the company that prints the:
Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing its idiot
bumper stickers probably will be hiring more workers. Saw a lot of those last time I was in Florida.

  10. Being the first back megalomaniacal president means never having to say your sorry,
Until he is gone America will continue to decline and the decline is accelerating with each passing day. America may not make it to November 2012.
The woman has good reason to be angry, I know I am.

  11. She had me until she suggested Obamugabe spend more time overseeing his White House commies and
the assorted incompetents he has appointed to run departments. Less vacation time is not the answer.
He needs 100% vacation time, the sooner the better.
    .

  12. How many of these pissed off business owners voted for the clown in office?
53 percent of the American voters didn’t come from downtown Chicago!
    About 70 percent were women.

  13. That right there my Canadian friends is what I keep hearing from random strangers on the street in Arizona. She is much more articulate and informed than the check-out girl at Safeway, but the message is the same. People are not believing the hype.
Up in the Great White North all we ever hear is the MSM echo chamber vs. some openly partisan blogs, so we don’t really experience the reality of the USA. When the check-out lady goes into a spontaneous rant about the national debt and -all- the people in line behind you are nodding and saying “hell yes!”, that’s a little more immediate.

  14. After throwing the economy under the bus; meanwhile Obama is on a bus tour to save jobs…especially his.
Obama thinks people like Amilya have enough and that they should give more to the government to create jobs.
We need to get back to politicians who had some real world experience instead of being part of a permanent professional poltical class produced by Ivy League schools. Harry (the buck stops here) Truman was a haberdasher. Does anyone think Obama could even sell a hat? Nothing up his sleeve.

  15. Come on Amilya, tell us how you really feel. This president of hope and change does not have an original idea, plan or clue in that vacuum of a brain bucket. Crap, he is only on a bus tour because Palin did it.
Counting the days until GOTUS plays another round of golf (while America burns), in three, two, one…

  16. Obama has no plan because he’s a puppet.
More than lkely this is his plot.
His only plan it seems is to follow advice from the most Red lefty minds he can find, than try to collectivise all he can.
Using goverment agencies to stop as much production wth a much confusion swnas possible.
No one notices all te money that disapears when its being used by the truck loads.
Every dirty trick will be used to re-elect this buffoon. Count on it. After that there won’t be another.
    A perpetual emergancy President.
    JMO

  17. this gal is bang on.
we need people like her in public office.
for to long now we have elected idiots that have promised us the moon.
free everything………now were down to free crack pipes, good greif what is next.
lets put it this way, if there were two people in the world, you and me, you work and i sponge off you, how long are you going to put up with that?
problem is, nearly half the population seems to think this is ok.
i think if you don’t work, no vote for you.
if it isn’t going to cost you something, why not vote for it.
let the other guy pay for it.
there is a line in the bible that says, “if you don’t work you shouldn’t eat”
    i like the idea.
got to stop this freebee nonsense, or we are all doomed.

  18. “We need to get back to politicians who had some real world experience instead of being part of a permanent professional political class produced by Ivy League schools.”
Absolutely. I notice an alarming number of politicians in Canada with very little real world experience.
Some just seem to have spent their whole lives in politics, starting on a community Board,to city Councillor,to Provincial MLA or MP,without ever having dipped their feet into the real world the rest of us inhabit.
This video should be shown to every young person who thinks that Government has the answers to every problem.

I flubbed this a while back, so I’ll restate Ludwig von Mises profound observation (which always sounds shocking at first blush, but is most assuredly true):
In a true free market economy there is NO involuntary unemployment. When you fully absorb that truism you will have a deeper understanding of economics than most court economists including KevinB’s fondly-remembered professor and Lord Keynes.
She’s right that uncertainty (of the rules, not risk-taking outcomes) is the main problem. Rules, good or bad, need to be known in advance and confidently relied upon (and of course got around!).
Vίtruvius took me to task a while back for supporting Glenn Beck’s view that Cass Sunstein is the most dangerous man in America. Beck is right. I read that in a recent month the US Federal government created 650+ new rules.
And in this we see the classic BIG COMMIE LIE. Recall, Obama HIMSELF recently blathered about the need to reduce and streamline regulation.
From his own terms of reference Obama’s has been a hugely successful presidency!

  20. Good rant, but from a business perspective, leadership implies success. Anyone concerned about American liberty does not want success from a deceitful statist zealot like Obama nor success from a leviathan state that has gone way beyond legitimate roles of governance. America’s only hope is the rise of the Tea parties or grass roots (small devolved government) equivalence. The actual politicians can be automatons for all I care, as long as they scramble to get in front of the mob that wants to shrink leviathan.

  21. She is right on target, especially when she says Obama should apologize, and especially when she says that he does nothing but blame his predecessor (which he does).
It is truly amazing that while the country is going down the tubes, Obama and his dreadful wife see absolutely noting wrong with partying every night at the White House.
Despite the fact that he has been a terrible president, possibly the worst ever, people are throwing money at Obama for his re-election. It defies belief. America is lost at the moment, which does not bode well.
