  2. On the completely non-political front, I came upon 3 Canada Geese families at Vancouver’s Granville Island and was able to take some pretty nice shots of the adorable little chicks.   6. Rick Mercer tends to be an equal-opportunity slagger, in that respect maybe one of the fairest voices on CBC. You would never have got that from the Air Farce for example. Mercer likes to make fun of the cliches about Stephen Harper and the conservatives. Maybe not everybody gets that.

    (and how nauseating is it that some in the audience applauded this inanity?)
    By the time four years is up Canadians will be lining up for the chance to vote against the NDP from coast to coast.

    Surprise! Surprise! When talking about how they need to rebuild the party — and realizing it won’t take months but years — they never cite Preston Manning and Stephen Harper’s amazing feat — nor the blood, sweat, and tears, not to mention the opprobrium both took from the chattering class/legacy media — it took to rebuild the Conservatives after Mulroney gutted them. I guess they’d have to be too magnanimous to acknowledge the Alliance/Reform/CPC miracle — never a trait for which the Liberal$ have been known.

  26. Do you know what is really spooky about this Ellen Brosseau story? If you Google her name and click images you get page after page of the same photo. A young blonde woman worked in a bar and there is only one photo of her?
    And is this TELEPHONE interview the only one she has ever done?
    If I were in the media, I’d be asking anyone who is willing to go on record as having been in the same room with her to come forward.
    This feels really weird.

  29. I’m watching/listening to The Agenda show referenced by batb.
    At the 12:05 point, Steve Paikin outs himself, when, talking about the Liberal Party, he says to Martha Hall Findlay (emphasis mine), “WE had a lot of friends on Bay Street once upon a time too.” Whoops!
    I wonder if Paikin’s planning on giving the Conservatives a program all to themselves: in reference to the discussion of having to rebuild, the Conservatives have a lot to say.
    Typical Liberal arrogance: Hall Findlay, “We want fiscal responsibility, but we want to use it for good”, as if the Conservatives use financial prudence (or not!) for bad! I think it’s this kind of hubris that’s put the Liberals right where they are. Yeah! (John Duffy’s giving a really good critique of Liberal complacency and hubris, as well as giving credit where credit’s due to the Conservatives, which he says the Liberals don’t do, to their detriment: good for him.)
