Reaping the benefits of the Bush War For Oil: is there nothing that Obama can’t do?
“Abu Ahmad al-Kuwaiti was a senior al-Qaeda facilitator and subordinate of [Khalid Sheikh Mohammed]. Al-Kuwaiti worked in the al-Qaeda media house operated by [Khalid Sheikh Mohammed] in Kandahar and served as a courier.”
The file suggests that the courier’s identity was provided to the US by another key source, the al-Qaida facilitator Hassan Ghul, who was captured in Iraq in 2004 and interrogated by the CIA.

Clearly the info to locate this guy came from the now disbanded CIA interrogation teams and the now disbanded secret prisons, and of course, Gitmo and waterboarding.
But hey! Obama does deserve credit for keeping this thing secret. That was no small feat.
Uh, wait a minute. Iraq had nothing to do with Al Qaeda! You can’t look at wikileaks, because you weren’t supposed to see those files.
That truck that we found buried in the sand? It was not to produce bio weapons! It was to produce ultra green pesticides which must be manufactured on site at the orchard, and is gone the next day!
That other truck? Why it was to fill artillery balloons. The fact that this requires a pickup truck sized platform rather than an eighteen wheeler? Irrelevant.
Getting the left to talk about these issues is almost as hard as getting them to name an actual George W. Bush lie. His father lied alright. “Read my lips….”
tim, that’s irony isn’t it? Those are “disbanded” secret prisons and GITMO, right? And shouldn’t you be thanking the NY Times, Wash. Post, et al. for maintaining the secrecy?
But hey! Obama does deserve credit for keeping this thing secret. That was no small feat.

They only had to put a toy train in the secret bunker for Joe Biden to play with.
Oz, you made me laugh out loud.
Really no loss but a big temporary gain for the West.
HOWEVER, Canada and other western countries need now to justify WHY we are giving aid for whatever to India, Pakistan and so on.
They are NOT our friends and nor is multiculturalism.

Me too. Thanks Oz.
there will be a lot of lefties who be upset because the O did not inform them of these things
the pubilic, especially lefties, need to know these things, because, well because
as to the O keeping this secret, it was to his pesonal advantage to do so, as he can now try and reap the advantage, or so he thinks
BINGO JACKPOT !!
[The assault force of Navy SEALs snatched a trove of computer drives and disks during their weekend raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, yielding what a U.S. official called “the mother lode of intelligence.”
The special operations forces grabbed personal computers, thumb drives and electronic equipment during the lightning raid that killed bin Laden, officials told POLITICO…
“Hundreds of people are going through it now,” an official said, adding that intelligence operatives back in Washington are very excited to find out what they have.]

Comon people…all we know is what the media has thrown us and what the US Govt has thrown them. I’d be willing to consider that the scumbag died months/years ago from kidney disease.
Now wouldn’t that be a major PR/Morale disaster for the US.?? their Number 1 enemy dying naturally..?? Oh the shame.!
thnk about it…not saying that is what actually happened nor am I your average conspiricy freak. but I find this is awfully convenient, nice and neat and all that….and no real evidence – Can you spell dis/misinformation.?
stk
I heard that Osama wasn’t dumped in the ocean. He is alive and well and presently undergoing
mind control therapy, courtesy of the CIA.
After successful treatment , Obama and Osama will go on International TV
and make a joint statement that will stun the world.
Steakman,
Don’t believe everything you think, just sayin’.
Obama is milking it for what it’s worth and views it as his passport to a second term — I don’t know how many more press conferences he will have before voters see through that smug motivation. Especially with his visit to ground zero for dramatic effect.
And to keep everybody on pins and needles and focussed on the magnificent O, they keep taunting the public with “we may or may not release photos of the operation”, but it “may or may not cause a negative reaction from Muslim extremists”.
What a bunch of dolts the ‘Bama administration is — Muslim extremists are already psychopaths and they don’t need an excuse to do something savage. That’s not what ‘Bama should be worried about, he should instead be concerned about which photos of the operation if made public might reveal anything of the top secret methods they used to catch Bin Ladin…
‘Bama will always act like a neophyte — he shouldn’t be elected for a second term as commander in chief simply for offing Bin Ladin. Democrats in general seem to have that incurable neophyte disease — e.g. when Clinton was caught getting bj’s from his intern he was worried more about what it would do to his career rather than the security implications it had for the U.S. Presidency — i.e. exposing himself to possible blackmail or extortion from enemy agents, etc.
I think what you have to ask yourself is why are “senior us officials” saying that they found a treasure trove of intelligence. Either one of these three scenarios is possible:
1) they did not find any treasure trove but want to scare the terrorists into scurying about so they can catch them
2) Obama’s administration has some really idiotic leakers in it
3) The CIA or the administration think it’s ok to tip off the terrorists that they found all this info
1 or 3 are the most likely since so far no heads are rolling over this revelation. In other words the “leak” was deliberate. Why leak deliberately that you have valuable information? Anyone care to comment?
Exactly, james
I dunno james, I’d go with 2) “Obama’s administration has some really idiotic leakers in it”.
Reason being, if it’s a bona fide intel op you probably don’t go leaking it to the general press — you leak it through known avenues to Al Quada enemy intel agents so they think they lucked upon the info themselves.
When Billy Clinton leaked his DNA he was not thinking with his right head.
We are told that they have DNA proof about catching Osama.
Obama is getting a surge in popularity cause he just ‘knows’ that it really was Osama and not a double.
So many questions. So few concrete answers.
Who says that’s not what was done here.
I am not really up on forensics- but I am ready to bet that those Navy Seals kept a bit more than a cotton swap of saliva as DNA proof.
And yet there are still those who think we need to conduct ourselves in a politically correct way when dealing with known terrorists and murderers.
What is going on in these lefty minds? What do they really think?
Ron ,you are making the assumption that they ‘really think’.
The simple fact is-They don’t.
At least not in a normal way.
These sort of ops are conducted all the time….
I suspect OBOZO didn’t leak it because his first knowledge was the after-action report.
How many voters will see the complexity of this? They will see that bin Laden died under Obama’s watch, not the machinations that may have put that kill into place.
I could be wrong, though.
Recipe for Swordfish Karachi:
Roast swordfish, season with tossed psychopath and garnish with 72 sturgeons.
Sorry about the confusion re virgins.
I doubt it was a SEAL operation anyway….
Look at it…ordered by a guy from Chicago…two shots in the head, dumped in the river to sleep with the fishes…it was just a mob hit.
You mean the sturgeons were NOT virgin?
I don’t mean to be picky—-
But–if it is not virgin sturgeon–
I’m not interested.
In 2002, it seems the 5th Special Forces Group, who specialize in the Middle East, were pulled out of the hunt for bin Laden in Afghanistan to get ready for their next assignment – Iraq. Is this true?
The stories from those related to the operation have all contradicted each other or not made sense:
– He has many wives but only one was there? The CIA didn’t track his wives?
– He was said to be killed after reaching “for a weapon” – wait, I’m confused…’reaching’??? This is when the Navy Seals get to get to his 2nd or 3rd floor room? With all the gunfire and noise going on below, what were they doing in the meantime, sleeping?
– He resisted but didn’t have a weapon, so he still got shot?
– The actual gunfight lasted how long? 40 Minutes? That’s not a good strike. Where are the cops? Paki Military? Neighbours? With all the noise going on and a military town someone must have known this was a US raid.
– The helicopter that got shot down, it was a Huey, as in Paki Air Force, not US, they used Blackhawks.
– Those same helicopters, did they hover over the compound for 40 minutes? Where did they go otherwise, to the local drive-in?
– A 6’4 living in any city is not an oddity?
– CNN ran a story in October that reported he was indeed living in a mansion in Pakistan.
– Why is it Saddam, and now OBL, video’s are done with low quality cell phone cameras and don’t show much of anything. Don’t the US have better equipment?
This is even more interesting:

oooooooh.
so that makes all those intrusions and otherwise (pre patriot act) surveillances alright.
gotcha. gonna be interesting when things get so bad they don’t even have to give an excuse.
Here is a cost comparison

Bin Laden has been dead for over eight years. He died in a cave in the stan.
Now THIS is interesting:

Mark, that picture of everyone in the room with the President sitting like a college kid watching a footballl game bugged me the first time I saw it.
This just confirms it, he’s a follower, not a leader. The body language of everyone is one of disrespect. The President’s body language is one of sullenness.
Sad.
“The president’s role was minimal, including their acknowledging of his presence in the room.”

Mark, one more thing, that definitely could end up being a legal mess or basically it was usurping the president, aka: a coup.
So he got buried at sea. Maybe they dropped him off the front of the carrier, then hit the turbines into high gear.
photo released of bin laden’s burial…

cbc’s bin laden obituary ?
Osama bin Laden, Legendary Activist, Dead at 54
Osama bin Laden, the outspoken activist whose media stunts — including “9-11” and various widely publicized tapes — and motivating grassroots organizing made him the most widely-sought man in the world, died Sunday, President Barack Obama confirmed.
He was 54.
He collapsed in his million-dollar estate in the Abbottabad section of Pakistan, about 2PM Eastern time, suffering severe injuries, according to President of the United States of America Barack Obama. He was transported by helicopter to a military hospital in Afghanistan where he was pronounced dead and buried at sea.
“He left his mark on the entire world,” strategic expert Cal Houston said. “In his short life he became one of the most famous men in the world and millions listened to his announcements and followed his call to organize and act out.”
Bin Laden’s blazing rise to stardom is among the most startling of geopolitical tales. Born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bin Laden was a devoted follower of his faith and became politically active at a young age. In the 1980s he became a leading opponent of communism and an ally of the United States. His political movement in Afghanistan succeeded in stunning Soviet planners and hastening the downfall of that regime.
In later years bin Laden would become known more for his attention-getting stunts, including the 1993 pyrotechnics at the World Trade Center and the infamously successful 2001 follow-up.
“It’s hard to think of a single man who had more of an effect on this city,” said a tearful Luke Lazenby, a NYC firefighter who witnessed bin Laden’s 2001 stunt. “We were all there. He brought this city to its knees and we didn’t give up. We kept right on going, and here we are ten years later.”
The man who once promised “a mushroom cloud over America,” Bin Laden was also known as a devoted father of 75 sons, a loving husband to various wives and mistresses, and a caring friend.
“He would give you anything,” said a close friend of the family who asked to remain anonymous. “If you fired your last RPG at a helicopter he would give you his to fire. That is just the sort of man he was.”
Memorial services broke out spontaneously around the United States upon hearing the news. Grown men high-fived, chests were bumped, mourners gathered outside the White House and at the site of previous bin Laden stunts. A crowd at a Mets game began chanting U-S-A, confusing the Mets who briefly thought the chants meant they were losing to the USA.
Friends of bin Laden announced plans to carry out his wishes to “avenge the slaughter of Muslims by Americans a thousandfold and drown [Americans] in the blood of their sons.”
