  1. Catch22 and Avaaz are MoveOn derivatives funded by Soros. We are seeing the global Bilderberg vs Soros war play out right here in our own backyard. But we still believe it’s oil/banks vs unions/TorStar….

  2. A few days ago,an article in the National Post mentioned this. I believe that a US left wing group was behind this. I do not recall their name at the moment.

  3. I noticed how few ridings they targeted in the prairies. A saying about a ‘frog’s chance in a frying pan’ comes to mind.

  4. “Heave Steve” – and in all this shitstorm not one human being has provided me with an adequate explanation of WHY.
Not one. Just anarchist-wannabe psychotic hatred, pseudointellectual snotty smugness, and parroted propaganda-spew.
Pardon the alliteration, it just worked out that way.

  5. Isn’t Soros the fella that made his billions off the manipulation and collapse of European currencies? Sounds like a perfect plan – sabotage the $1.05 loonie – drive it down and buy it at the lowest rate. Someone should ask the Coalition if this was the “hidden agenda” all along. Cheers.

But don’t expect a tax receipt even if you’re old enough to pay taxes, because “third parties” can’t issue tax receipts.

  7. They are probably the ones supplying the information saying that the NDP is doing so well.

  8. You got A robo-call? Only ONE?! Count your blessings; they start at 8:00AM here in Lotus Land…
The joke’s on them, Her Wifeyship votes differently than I. Depends who picks up the phone, the answer it does. πŸ™‚

  9. “Gary Shaul – Catch 22 campaign co-ordinator”
    From rabble.ca:
“Gary Shaul is a union activist who has been involved with a number of issues including electoral reform, anti-war, international solidarity, human rights and the environment. A Toronto resident, he has been co-coordinating his union’s environmental program –- Greening OPSEU –- for the past year and is editor of OPSEU’s environment blog — Green Union. Gary is a long time babbler, contributing as Polunatic2 and before that, as Non-partisan Partisan.”
    Yep, just the usual leftards.

  10. Catch22 and Avaaz are MoveOn derivatives funded by Soros.
    I wish that was true.
“…What requirements apply to a third party that receives donations from:” foreigners from time to time?
Money from foreign sources must not be used for Canadian election advertising purposes… See s. 358 of the Canada Elections Act”

  11. I checked out their video links. Why is that Black dude so angry in the “Steve its over” video?

  13. Notice how any group whose sole stated mandate is to stop the Conservative Party at any cost is inevitably described as “non-partisan”? Funny how that works.
Btw, This article in Vancouver’s Georgia Straight lists a guy named Masrour Zoghi as the local Catch 22 spokesman. A fellow by the same name rejected his doctoral diploma at a University of Toronto convocation ceremony last fall, as a protest against the “corporatization” of the U of T:
“Because graduates approached the stage in alphabetical order, Zoghi was the last in the Doctor of Philosophy section. While the whole section was being applauded, Zoghi shook hands and stood still on the stage for a few seconds, facing the crowd and shaking his head.
“He then removed his graduation gown and walked offstage in a red t-shirt among laughter and hushed confusion from the audience. The shirt, with one-inch yellow print, read ‘U of T Inc’ on the front and ‘Univ for SALE’ on the back. Audience members were heard asking each other what happened and what the shirt read.
“Zoghi then declined the envelope containing his degree and was photographed for the graduation composite.”
Just another disruptive, anti-business leftist, apparently.

  14. I was listening to a Michael Coren show this week and one of his quests, a Toronto radio host, started talking about Harper. He started off talking about the hidden agenda being implemented under a majority CPC and went on from there, bringing up abortion etc and finally ending his little rant by basically accusing all Albertans of being dangerous right wing religious fanatics. I think I am a typical Albertan, a well educated professional that hasn’t seen the inside of a Church in some time. When I listen to people from the east, I really wonder if we still have anything in common. I must admit that I have more affinity with folks north and south than east and west. I was totally disappointed in Coren letting this guy off the hook.

  15. Although organizations such as Avaaz.ca, LeadNow, Votepair.ca and Catch22 claim they are totally Canadian funded, there is a little trick to this. Soros and the Moore Foundation are donating large sums of money to Canadian Environmental NGO’s. These NGO’s then donate money to a political party. That way they get around the donation rules.

If he does get any donations I’d like to see his accounting statement on May 3rd. Quick personal cash grab.

  17. Get an inexspensive answering machine. It will reject auto-poling and other unwanted calls and let you screen callers.
Why do sheeple think they always have to answer the phone or when someone knocks at the door?
    Whose life is it anyway?

  18. You mean they use a loophole to get around the political contribution rules? For shame.

  19. .
    .
We should remember this information when talking to conservative folks. It can wake-up apathy. If you have a Conservative sign displayed on your property, and sit close-by to protect it from Green thugs, you often get to say something. Again, to wake-up apathy, and rarely, to make a conversion.
Destructive, negative nonsense often has unintended consequences.

  20. Who has a land line nowadays, anyways?
I went cell-only after I realized the only people that used the home number were drunk mis-dials and call centres in India.
(That’s part of the reason I’m no longer trusting the polls — how many thousands of people are immediately not in the sample because they don’t have a land line?)

  21. So it’s horribly undemocratic for PMSH to be in power despite receiving only 38% of the popular vote. But if Jack Layton becomes PM, receiving FEWER votes than Harper but using a Parliamentary loophole to topple the government… that is completely democratic.
    Just boggles the mind…

  22. harry: “I thought 3rd party advertising was againts the rules?”
I’m sure Elections Canada will be on this right away.
It will, won’t it? Won’t it?

  23. I heard this a.m. on Lowell Green that a union (maybe CAW) is putting out anti-Harper advertisements. They seem to get around the election spending regulation because they are not promoting a “party” — but supposedly you can attack a party. This is so corrupt.

  24. “If you’re insane, you don’t have to fly your missions. But you have to ask not to fly your missions, and asking not to fly your missions shows that you are sane. So you have to fly your missions.”

“Justice” and “Restorative justice” also mean something completely different from the dictionary definition too when used by a leftie.

  26. I just hope we don’t wake Up Tuesday to find that the crazy people really are running our country. We’ll all be feeling that hangover. Over and over.

  27. I have a landline and 2 phones, 1 with a base and 1 without. That way if the power goes out you can still call a friend.

  28. The money people – Maurice Strong (Global Warming Guru with Al Gore) and George Soros – are they supporting this unthinkable thing that is going on in a Canadian Election? This all should be investigated quickly. They or their kind are destroying the USA. We are going to be next.

  29. Abe Froman has it right @ 3:05. Soros be the one.
LindaL @ 5:16, this sort of 3rd party advertising is becoming more common. In Saskatchewan the various unions have been advertising in a non direct against the Sask Party by suggesting to the voter that he/she should be supporting various services.

  30. Without proof, for or against, the Tides Foundation seems like a plausible source for under the table left wing funding.

  32. Who has a land line nowadays, anyways?
Lots of people who are not like you.
My answering machine filters out unwanted calls.
    I don’t own a cell=phone, and wouldn’t want one.
Some of us don’t need to be ‘connected’ 24/7 to verify our existence.

  33. I thought that it was contary to the Election Act, i.e., illegal, to tell people not to vote for specific candidates or parties (not that I agree with legislation of this sort). Maybe it was changed recently?

  34. Gary Mauser is on that list, and he is strongly anti-long gun registration. I wonder if he knows his name is on here?

  35. Hey! I’ve been out of town. Who are these guys who’ve stolen my name?? Damn; and I thought all I had to worry about was blowback from Joseph Heller.
