Canada – not worth voting in, unless they make you Prime Minister.

“My deepest sympathies go out to the people of Manitoba who are dealing with the devastating effects of the Red River flooding, and especially to those families who have lost loved ones to the flood waters near Brandon,” leader Michael Ignatieff was quoted as saying in the original statement.
Now, go easy on him. He’s still learning the map.

O! M! G!
But is he wearing his ethnic costume?
That’s gonna sting.

Iam getting really quite tired of the continuing reference’s by the Liberals to the USA & their constant Harper/Bush Crap.
He kept saying lastnite that Harper is a G.Bush & will americanize canada, same ol crap only ramping it up.
In fact thats all they all said last nite Trying that Hidden adgenda Tanks in our streets crap,Then I think i even heard Ignatieff say he is a Democrat a few times last nite.
So who is americanizing Canada? In Canada last time i checked we dont have Democrats or Republicans We have Liberals & Conservatives & Dippers of course.
Here’s an anti-Ignatieff zinger: Kelly McParland: “Ignatieff tells Quebec it’s OK to rate Canada as second best”:
“I’m trying to picture this.
“It’s Lower Slobovia, and the Leader of the Opposition is trying to oust the High Exalted Grand Poobah from power. Lower Slob, as it’s known, has 10 provinces, one of which wants to break away and establish itself as the Independent Republic of Navelgazia. The Opposition Leader, eager to curry votes in Navelgazia, makes the following statement:
“’Hey, you guys don’t like the country, that’s OK by me. But why break away, why not just keep accepting the cheques while ignoring the rest of the country and devoting yourselves solely to your own province? You can be a Navelgazer [Canadian] or a Slob [Quebecer], in whatever order you prefer.’”

Rumor has it that Iggster hasn’t sold his house in the US. I think even he knows he’ll be back there in less than a year. Maybe he can start a publicly-rejected poseur’s support group and invite ex-POTUS Barry Soetoro over for a sip at the samovar.
But he only voted in 30% of the US elections.
Despite the valid point this brings, I really don’t like negative ads.
“You can be a Quebecer or a Canadian in the order you prefer,” he (Ignatieff) assured the viewing audience.”
And of course Ignatieff would say this was okay. Afterall, he was American or British first for so long, that being a mere second class Canadian should only feel natural to Quebecors, too.
What a f%$#*@# goof.
This was the link Ignatieff said that in, by the way –

“Ignatieff tells Quebec it’s OK to rate Canada as second best”
Psychological projection? After all, that is how Ignatieff regarded his Canadian citizenship for 30 years
Re my 11:47 post:
Whoops: it’s the Navelgazers who are Quebecers and the Slobs who are Canadians in the rest of the country.
All that high priced edumacation and the boy hasn’t learned to stop digging a hole. The man is his own worst enemy..though he doesn’t stop making new ones.
The MSM reactions to the ad should be priceless. Outrage. Condescension. Indignation. All of which conveniently ignores their patriotic-based condemnation of Harper’s Alberta Firewall letter.
Now that’s not very Doctor Zhivagoish, is it?!
“Despite the valid point this brings, I really don’t like negative ads”
I have to agree. The Conservatives have too many positives to bring to the table and it’s unfortunate that they have to lower themselves to the level of the opposition. As for the Liberals, the only weapons in their arsenal are negative since they have nothing to show but a history of corruption, theft and high taxes. And the NDP … well, Layton can promise whatever comes into his head since he will never be Prime Minister and will never have his feet held to the fire. I guesss I’m saying “never wrestle with a pig because you’ll get covered with mud and sh*t. And the pig likes it.” Or words to that effect.
On the other hand, maybe getting down and dirty is the way to go when you’re grappling with unprincipled swine.
rabbit @ noon: “Despite the valid point this brings, I really don’t like negative ads.”
That’s the very sentiment, rabbit, that got Obama elected. No one, especially John McCain, wanted to say anything negative about this two-tongued impostor. And the MSM still don’t. The outcome has proven to be a disaster.
For a voter to make a balanced decision, the negative side of a candidate or policy—yes, it needs to be accurate—is just as valid as the positive side, and, IMO, definitely has a place in campaigning.
It is barely enough to believe that Canadians are not foolish enough to put this guy in such a position that he can take power with socialists and separatists. I suppose it would be too much to ask that Canadians send him backing as a defeated MP before he can qualify for a pension and live off it someone else but Canada.
Thanks for that ad link Kate, absolutely hilarious!!
Yep, get out your ground game…the battlefield is going to be a ‘hot zone’ till May 2.
The ‘shrieking and wailing’ from the “Frankenstein Coalitionistas” will continue aided and abetted by the LSM (Lame Stream Media). Keep focussed like PMSH and get your TEFLON ON!!
When the fever induced wailing ‘tsunami’ hits, grab your surfboard and ride the Conservative wave. It should be a helluva ride.
Remember what Paul Martin said:
http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/CTVNewsAt11/20040317/martin_advancer_040317/
In a campaign-style speech delivered to the Quebec City Chamber of Commerce, Martin promised he is “personally and profoundly committed to rapid and permanent changes in the way things are done in Ottawa.”
“We have declared all-out war against waste and mismanagement. We will put an end to cronyism,” the prime minister said in French.
“I am going to change the way Ottawa works,” he said. “This is not a slogan, this is reality. We are going to change the way government works. And we will do it come Hell or high water.”
Well then by all means, let ‘em have all the “Hell and highwater” that they so richly desire.
Welcome to Hades ladies and gentlemen, the temperature should be rising shortly.
For all those who live in BC, just remember that while travelling through the Fraser Canyon you have to pass through “Hells Gate”. Once past “Hells Gate” you travel just a little beyond “Hope”. Finally you get to Whistler and “Go to Heaven, and ski like Hell”.
Lock and load…its varmint hunting season!
Psalm 2:9 You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
That will be a blistering attack ad…nothing like making the “Leader” of the opposition choke on his own words while coughing out puffin feathers.
You’d think MIA now stands for Missing In Action.

lets not forget that ignatieff stated in his book Canada has 4 time zones!
when stockwell day made a gaffe about flow of niagra falls a number of yrs back the media crucified him, Ignatieff made the statement in print just a few yrs ago & we are still waiting for the media to notice.
Come sweet majority.
Reminds me of David Suzuki thinking that the Red River flowed south from Manitoba into the U.S. and so Canada could somehow cut off the American water supply.
So, does this mean that I can be an Albertan first and then a Canadian? Is it now totally OK to scorn Trawna without being called a knuckle dragging redneck?
on rabbit’s anti-neg add comment:
That’s the very sentiment, rabbit, that got Obama elected. No one, especially John McCain, wanted to say anything negative about this two-tongued impostor.

EXACTLY right lookout. McCain was so non-negative I cudda swore, using a boxing analogy, he was “throwing the fight”. With apologies to Marlon Brando He cudda been a contender but chose not to. He was so nice that he foisted a marxist revolutionary on the country who is now actively trying to destroy it.
And besides, the ad’s not negative. It’s truthful. It speaks to the very foundation of Ignatieff’s essential fraudulence. The cat’s not Canadian (in the non-technical sense), knows nothing about the country, is a fly-in to fly-over country. As someone suggested he’s Canadian like Neil Young’s Canadian. Close enough for rock ‘n roll but not for governance of our counry, esp. in these dire times.
Take a look at the 3 Stooges video going viral on youtube. Gilles Deceit, Jack “Lenins Head” Layton and Russian Count Ignatieff as the 3 Stooges. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m95gGjFgODo&feature=player_embedded
Well.. he is asking for it by constantly comparing Harper to Bush, etc. What a ridiculous question in last night’s debate along those lines…
What a bloody hypocrite Ignatieff is –
http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/story/2011/04/14/cv-election-ethnic-libs.html?ref=rss#
Ignatieff – “Canada isn’t Disneyland. These are ethnic groups do not want to be treated in this way. They want to be treated as Canadians first, last, and always,” Ignatieff said.
Funny how Quebecers can choose to be Quebecers first, but according to him, ethnic groups should be treated as Canadians before anything else.
Imagine a person from an ethnic group that happens to be a Quebecer. Why, Ignatieff wouldn’t know how to keep his hypocrisy straight.
You know, I think your Professional Sympathizers are even more incompetent than ours…
This election may test Lizzy May’s opinion of Canadian voters……
we need to get this on the Canadian MEDIA radar
if a Conservative no matter how insignificant made that gaff we would NOT hear the last of it for years
fh
I’m sure they’ll blame that big meany pants Harper for this one… You know, he had to have something to do with moving Brandon from where the resident professor thought it was…sheesh. Once again shows don’t send your kids to University. Your doing them a disservice.
Ignatieff is obviously still concerned about raising expectations too high.
Don’t worry Michael. We still think you’re incompetent.
“You can be a Quebecer or a Canadian in the order you prefer,” he (Ignatieff) assured the viewing audience.”
The Liberal Party of Canada stole $400 Million in taxes and the excuse they gave when caught was it was to save Canada from Quebec Separatism.
Having been a resident of Manitoba for 25 years, the last time we got National recognition in a Federal election, Chretien stopped over to throw a photo op sand bag by the surging beautiful Red River of the North.
I’ll be glad when May 2 has passed and this idiocy is over. Count Iggula and Vuvuzela or whatever the hell his wifes name is have gone back to wherever it is that they came from.
“Ignatieff tells Quebec it’s OK to rate Canada as second best”
That’s pretty generous of Iggy,in his own mind Canada ranks third or fourth, behind Britain, the U.S.,and quite possibly Mother Russia.
There has never been an attack ad more negative than the infamous “Soldiers in our streets” ad put out by the Liberals. It insulted all the brave men and women who serve in the Armed Forces, and attempted to imply the Conservatives were going to attempt a military coup.
There’s no sense fighting by the Marquis of Queensbury Rules when your opponent is kicking you in the balls.
Did ig also say that Bill 101 protects minorities?
I might have got the translation wrong, maybe someone can confirm
The best thing about all this garbage being spewed buy the Russian Count is how utterly stupid it makes the Tabers Owlivers Mansbridges Simpsons Yaffes Bourques Fifes etal, of our so called MSM look! Owlivers going to have a Grand Mall right on CTV one of these nights, but lucky for him Fife will be there to give him mouth to mouth.
Didn’t the media go bezerkers when Stockwell Day made a directional blunder on the Niagara River?
The Liberal Canadian Press corp are going to be blowing their main arteries when they see that video, tiss going to be ugly. The sad thing is the Media gives Iffy’s past a well– pass, he left his wife and kids for another woman but we can’t talk about it. He refers to himself as a Brit then an American and then Canadian, he really gets on my last nerve he even sounds like an American.
AlbertaClipper, Hogtown joins the ROC when they elect a CON!
They sure did Howie. But that’s because, in the minds of neo-liberals, Stock is a neanderthal whereas Iggy is savant. A geographical mistake by Stock is evidence of his personal ignorance whereas a geographical mistake by Iggy is evidence that either his handler got it wrong or Iggy himself is so occupied with bigger issues that he just didn’t pick up on it.
Oz @ April 14, 2011, 1:55 PM: very good point.
But the amount the Liberal Party STOLE from the taxpayers in Adscam—and hasn’t paid back—was about $ 40 million, not $ 400 million.
BTW, that still doesn’t make it OK!
Lookout:
McCain was going down no matter how he conducted his election. Replacing an unpopular president, and facing a recession and a wildly popular opponent, it just wasn’t his time.
But I never said these things weren’t effective. When they contain at least a grain of truth they probably are.
I noticed Iggula said something along the lines of; The Conservatives will get the first try to form government should they get a minority.
Now if that isn’t coup-alition talk I don’t know what is. Does this ahole not care about what the West will have to say about this? He should worry less about Quebec and more about the West separating. N.e.p. 2?

rabbit 12:00, “Despite the valid point this brings, I really don’t like negative ads.”
I think we’ve been too washed by the MSM if we are worrying about this ad. This ad is factually correct (in contrast to “soldiers on the street, with guns!”) Canadians need to know who MI is.
And yet I share your dislike of negative ads; too often they’re complete fiction. Where does the “mean scary Steve” myth come from? Certainly not from reality, but it’s a convenient lie by the MSM and Liberals.
“AlbertaClipper, Hogtown joins the ROC when they elect a CON!”
Big Ol ROB FORD right back at ya, puddin. :^)
Go Prime Minister Steve!
Me No Dhimmi @12:47 – re. negative campaigns – “McCain was so non-negative I cudda swore, using a boxing analogy, he was “throwing the fight”.” So very true. I hate that loony old man (and his fat imbecile of daughter, but that’s something else) for entering a race he clearly didn’t much care to win. Obama was a sitting duck in terms of negatives – the man is one big negative – and his opponants should have campaigned on that relentlessly. I am not convinced Obama had to win.
Iggy is a deeply flawed candidate. Of course the Tories should point that out. Why the h@ll not, so as not to hurt his feelings? He chose to run.
