Libyan government forces tried to storm into the besieged city of Misrata on Friday as NATO generals acknowledged their air power was not enough to help insurgents remove Muammar Gaddafi by force alone.

Now is the time when I join ranks with my friends on the left, and chant, “No Libyan Blood for Oil”.
Once again the “rebels” sustained casualties from a NATO airstrike….seems NATO was unaware the rebels had tanks…..
Sounds to me like the universe is unfolding as it should.

Obama’s Libyan adventure is rapidly becoming a gong show. The man thrives on the thrill of the campaign trail, but when it comes to the day to day chores that come with being President, he’s almost completely disengaged. He has to make a choice, and soon: either bring this war to a successful conclusion or get out of it altogether. If he lets this drag out inconclusively, it could end his chances of winning another term.

But there is no reason we should be jumping in to help Britain and France secure their oil supplies from this country. We have plenty available.
I read some interesting analysis that the only reason that Obama jumped in was because of the hawkish women in the Democrats camp. With an election coming up and the need to raise cash and start the long campaign, you can see why a guy who goes whichever way the wind blows (as long as it is blowing in a lefterly direction) would jump in.
Harper might get some jollies by being at the forefront of ‘Nato’ work in the ME but its not for me! I’m at the point where ‘to hell with them’ bring our boys home. The Euros can fight their own battles. Nato is long dead, even the Germans realize that as they cozy up to the Russians.
Take the $s being spent over there and upgrade Canadian forces for coastal security on our 3 oceans. Build an export corridor across BC to Kitimat for export of gas and oil to Asia. Enough said.

True enough, Terry. I guess it would be more accurate to say that the unfolding Libyan debacle would absolutely, irrevocably, end Obama’s hopes for a second term.

Not many people seem see that Obamba’s non-participation in current American affairs proves that he has never been in charge.
Obviously neither is he qualified for the position. Is it a simple matter of Affirmative Action in motion, or is it blatant corruption of the system from elsewhere? Who knows for sure, but presidential material he is not. Even his most ardent supporters who are not moon-bat crazy can see it now.
How is it even legally possible for a “president” to be on vacation so often, and absent from the country during such domestic and foreign crisis? Leadership and role model responsibilities aside, short of chaining him to his desk in the Oval Office, can any minimum wage employee be as delinquent in their duties and keep their job as he apparently can?
