  1. This video is sure to piss off the Eco Taliban. trained animals, hunting and meat eating are against Green Shariah.

  2. Wonderful dog! Fantastic desire to hunt/reteieve. I wonder if the lads in the blind were using sky busters to nail birds 15-20 yards outside the edge of the deeks.

  3. That dog kicks wigeon tailfeathers.
    He’s got it good.
    That’s a treat to watch.

  4. Are those very realistic decoys that Sugar is passing by or is that one heck of a single-minded, well-trained dog?
And if cats get thumbs, we – as a species – are dead meat.

  5. Good thing dead ducks float. It would be a problem fitting a dog with scuba.

  6. Melwilde – dog won’t do you much good when your house get infested with mice or worse yet…………………… RATS!
Every specie has its uses. Don’t be downgrading the pussy cats.

  7. Wonderful! What a very good dog. My favourite parts of the video were the moments when Sugar did a good shake(or two or more) to get the water off …
@syncrodox : “Think it will inspire the leftards to work?”
No … but towards the ends of a solid collective agreement for all canines (and canine like beings), with the right language , and a strong, indexed pension plan … then lets talk some more at the negotiating table tomorrow and see how it goes?!

  8. Fantastic Dog. Reminds me of my dog Skipper in my teenage years. He was a natural retriever, part Lab, I think. Required no training and would take to the water with the least provocation. He would retrieve sticks thrown into the water out of season and loved to hunt skunks. Didn’t seem to mind the smell. No, we never ate the skunks, although there were people who did.

  9. People eat skunks?
    Gag a Maggot!
    Anyway.. great video.
    “You know the routine.”
    “Time out in the kennel.”
    he leaves the room,
with a sad quick glance at other dog.
Wish my grandchildren were that well behaved.

  10. Great video idea. What amazing heart that dog has. Some cats have it, too: my fat old white pound cat is a rodent assassin with almost as much drive as that retriever. He went to work the second I put him down in the foyer. Two weeks later we were rodent free in a house that was previously overrun. Cheers to working pets.
