Posing Time

The Alberta Ardvark:

Brant Liberal candidate Lloyd St. Amand joined the long list of failed Liberal Party photo ops the other day when he and Liberal trade critic Willowdale MP Martha Hall-Findlay stopped off outside a supposedly closed factory in an effort to highlight ‘job losses’ allegedly caused by the Conservative business tax reductions.

Only in the collective Liberal imagination does cutting business taxes result in job losses. As for the photo-op in front of a “closed factory”,

One small problem: The factory wasn’t closed at all, and the company’s Vice President was not happy to have been used as a prop in this Liberal deception:

(The Liberals’) attempt at disparaging the Conservatives…was a disaster… Ironically, we had looked into locating our finishing and distribution facility in Michigan. The corporate tax cuts and programs provided by the Conservative government were the deciding factor to expand in Canada.”

So much for that photo op.

  1. Go tell it on the mountain, Iggy and the fools strike out again. Tooo funny, for far to long the sychophants in the so called msm have given a hall pass to the loser-libeerals in our country. Funny how just a sniff of success starts to change the collective Canadian intelligent thinkers mindsets. Take Sask as an example, after turfing the dud Culvert, the fun of working and creating personally is just starting . Now we are starting to see the unravelling of the stinking lieberal national smear machine which for years has been oiled and greased by the so called msm. This give us all something to look forward to every day, lieberals floundering and floping without their usual safety net, the CBC CTV |Starwipe Glope etc to save their sorry asses from showing through their slips

  2. Epic fail. Who’s doing the advance work? The same guy who shot that hostage video of stephan dion a while back?

  3. Didn’t they hire Donolo to prevent the this kind of screwup? If you think about it that was the reason they fired WK? Therefore I suspect that the run of the mill Liberal MPs are in panic mode and have stopped listening to the leader and his office. Expect more of this nonsense as the leader is shown to be thoroughly incapable of moving the polls in a positive direction.

  4. If it was a Conservative who screwed up this bad it would be front page news across the country and lead story on CBC for a week.

  5. Absolutely, Max. It’s not like Mansbridge – for example – is going to be introducing a report on this one with that thinly-veiled sneer he displays whenever he’s introducing a report on the Conservatives’ “scandal of the week”, or when he’s introducing Rex Murphy.

  6. also amazing to behold is that the Liberal candidate said NOT ENOUGH WAS SPENT to keep the other business there.
NOT ENOUGH? OK, Liberals. Either the deficit is too high or not high enough. WHICH IS IT??
You cannot have it both ways, idiots.
The. Coalition. Deficit. It’s Theirs. They Wanted It. They Own It, They Forced it. Warts and All.
I am so sick of this…

  7. Martha Hill hyphen Findlay.
A Tequila Sheila wannabe, but never was.
Another chattering yap dog, that would look right at home in the NDP……

  8. How about the a*s clown Iggy’s plan to sink more tax dollars into University Education. The taxpayer is already on the hook for $60,000/student/4years. As well as subsidizing a couple of hundred thousand foreign students. He never has to cost out any of his Le Grande Plans. We need cuts, in spending. The end of useless programs and huge tax cuts. When interest rates go up, Canadians will have to choose between paying TAXES or trying to keep their homes. The average Canadian already pays more in TAXES than they keep to spend on Food, Clothing and Housing their families.

  9. Now I know why Liberals want to ban semi-auto firearms. It’ll help slow down the rate at which they shoot themselves in the foot.

They can, and they do. That’s what’s so infuriating about it. It was easily predictable that the Liberals would critisize the Conservatives for the deficit spending they demanded in 08′.
IMO PMSH should have went to the polls at that time, but I’m not sure the GG would have called an election; so I suspect PMSH did the right thing to prevent the coalition gov’t.
The real issue is, that 80%+ of the voting public are disengaged from politics so the Liberals can do and say what they want without reprecussions. That said, I do hope and think that there is a change coming. People appear to be waking-up. Let’s hope it’s not too late.

  11. Like the Elections Canada story this one won’t be reported because it could hurt Dear Leader.

  12. Indiana @ 11:04. the most infuriating thing is NOBODY ever calls them out on their hypocrisy re the deficit.
It’s a case of people like me screaming at the TV or radio or venting on blogs….sigh
PMSH shouldn’t have caved in on the stimulus so quickly….a couple months of PM Stephane Dion, Finance Minister Taliban Jack and Marxist Oppressor Minister Gilles Duceppe and people would have been rioting in the streets…

  13. I was watching CTV New Net, make that CTV Opinion Net, about 8:15MT. Dan & Bob were having a having a great time running down the Conservatives. Fife speaking to Dan said in effect, they both lived in a bubble of Ottawa politics and normal people don’t understand how bad a job Conservatives are doing and how they are sooooooo hypocritical.
It was a revolting display of the usual crap that passes as objective journalism in Canada.
I shutter to think how deep the slime run as election speculation ramps up.

I believe the coalition deal was for multiple (4?) years. IMO the government would have broke the bank to appease the Bloc knowing full well that this group could not win an election legitimatly.
It was also imparative for PMSH to maintain the government to balance the Senate. IMO is was WAY TOO RISKY to let that coalition happen. It might have been the end of elections as we know it. The PM with a majority govenement and the Senate is the most powerful politician in any democracy in the world. We MUST never allow these people to have their Super Majority (to use an American phrase). We are not equipt to manage that catastrophe once it happens:)

  15. soccermom: “You cannot have it both ways, idiots.”
Of course they can. Last year, they were whining that the deficit was too big and that the stimulus funds weren’t being spent fast enough.
But you’re right about the idiot part.

  16. “You cannot have it both ways, idiots”
    “Of course they can”
Yes it’s a shame Canadians have been letting them get away with it for so long….
Homez: yep you’re right about the agreed-upon coalition agreement time….but I still don’t think Harper should have embraced THAT MUCH of a deficit…
Heck, have the Conservatives even been calling them out on the utter hypocrisy??? I wouldn’t know, I am unable to watch any Canadian news on TV….(unable = don’t want to watch any because it’s horrible)

  17. Perhaps the Liberals could devise a plan where a concentrated beam of light known as a “laser” can penetrate the protective layer in the atmosphere known as the “ozone” unless someone pays them…one million dollars?
