30 Replies to “Global Unrest”

  1. Presently on a winter sojourn to South Carolina – we have fog in the morning and a stiff ocean breezes during the day – no wind chill. Positively balmy at 50F and better. Lots of Snow Birds from Ontario and Quebec – they are also complaining about AGW. Cheers.

  2. March 2nd saw morning temperatures of -28c and windchills of near -40.
A one minute walk accross the parking lot could produce frost bite and frozen eyelids that could take 10 minutes to quit watering.

  3. You call that “unrest”? You need to burn a few cars, that’ll get you some cred and melt the snow too.
    Nicely creative though.

  4. -40 windchills?
I was looking at robins in our front yard that morning.
Oh. I am a bit farther south. Keep the cold up there thanks. I’ve had enough for this year.

  5. The usual mostly wet spring here in delta bc. Lately about 5-6C however supposed to warm up to 10-12C by next week. Snowdrops all blooming now.

  6. “You call that “unrest”? You need to burn a few cars, that’ll get you some cred and melt the snow too”.
Creative BJG but WHAT do you think the protestors are standing on?

  7. Does anybody remember Lorne Calvert? The guy who used 250,000 dollars of TAXPAYERS MOMEY to bring Al Gore to Sask. to give a 30 minute speach about, GLOBAL WARMING. WARMING, WARMING, WARMING. Right now in Saskatoon it should be -4 but it is -20 with wind chills at -30 or greater. WHAT A COLLOSAL WASTE OF TAXPAYER MONEY. GO TO HELL SASK.NDP.

  8. heading back from Doha Qatar tomorrow after visiting Wayne from Wetaskwin for the past week.
about 25 to 29 here. not looking forward to the global warming of Calgary.

  9. We are getting “freeze/thaw/freeze/thaw” here. Today is freeze, so the gigantic freakin’ ocean of water in the back and front are all shiny.
I’m buying a pump today. And counting the hours until I get to fly to Arizona.

  10. -22C here in Kirriemuir AB right now. -32C with wind chill. It’s also snowing, which http://www.weather.ca most assuredly said would NOT happen. Personally, I’m getting tired of having to knock the ice of my chimney stack to keep the furnace from quitting. When can I start raving about Global Cooling?

Chane up and away you go!

  13. Ahhh, LS, I thought about joking about step ladders, but the car-b-q reference is funnier and neatly ties in another of sda’s favorite protester groups. To be perfectly clear (another tie-in to a once popular sda target), when I say creative, I’m referring to the original photo.
As to my own creds, I lived in Regina for a few years. In those days, Albert and Victoria competed viciously in winter with Portage and Main for the title of Coldest-Place-On-The-Face-Of-The-Earth.

  14. Fooled me totally.
I was pretty sure it was going to be about the legions of Saskers out demanding the ‘rent controls’ that the business tycoon turned NDP leader is pushing for the next election.
OTOH, it could be mistaken as a cementary for dead farmers that are only buried deep enuff to still get their handout.
A gr8 am laugh, in any case!

  15. -10 with -20 windchill in NS today, my dad tiold me I should get a snowblower, I told him all I need is Al Gore, a shovel, and a cattle prod.

  16. Well the ice fishing started at the same time as usual this year the constant storm fronts have made the bite incredibly “slow” over all.
I’m hoping for a strong finish and will require a longer than expected ice coverage.
    Go Ice Age!

  17. Speaking of a long cold winter, how about an ice age lasting thousands of years – starting in 1975!! Holdren exposed.

[ Remember — Holdren is one of the leading voice in the US on global warming now. He’s also Obama’s climate-change czar.
I haven’t seen that kind of a setup and payoff since Bob Hope and Bing Crosby made movies with Dorothy Lamour. ]

  18. I actually thought there was so much snow that the rooster comb protectors were all that you got a picture of at the hen house.

  19. Well Capt Bob, that would be an idea, but I`d freeze to death before I went a mile down the road.lol
Just got back from town. Whiteout all the way. Icy roads. A few ass puckering moments for sure. I`m about ready to do a charlie sheen meltdown. All I need now for the perfect storm, is for someone to tell me a new mosque is being built near me.

  20. Dayyam, I feel for you guys, 70 degrees heya in N. Louisi-Yana, and drops to about 50 at nite. We did get snow in late March last year, so we will see.

  21. “When did Al Gore come and speak in Sask?”
    Its a delayed reaction.

Guess that you forgot the “Stuck in the Mud” contest. The hands out are those poor soles (jk) that never did retrieve their machinery.
