November 9, 2010: UN Human Rights Council praises Libya
February 27, 2011: UN Security Council votes to sanction Libya
A bit odd, no? Clearly a “professional”, “competent” organization like the United Nations must have properly vetted Libya in the first place?!?
I notice that Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and China are all on the UN Human Rights Council.
I suppose the UN is waiting for thousands to die before “discovering” that these countries are unsuitable for a human rights council.

Maybe we should assume everything was “A-okay” in Libya up to November 9/2010, and it’s only AFTER that date that things started to go downhill.

If anyone’s character references were the players that comprise the members of the UNHRC,it’s doubtful they’d get much respect,except in the UN-real world of the UN. .

The UN is a useless organization composed largely of nation states that just don’t belong in the club with the minority of countries that actually ‘walk the walk’ when it comes to advancing policies that will benefit the citizens of the world. But because they have what we want, we let them play.
Dissolve the UN…Restart the League of Seven.
Only this time make sure membership dues are actually paid before letting these probationaries have a seat at the table.
The UN has become the axis of evil, where despots go to play and genocides get ignored if the Islamofacists are on a blood bath. I feel nothing but contempt for the UN and it’s member nations that are nothing more than Communists’ whackjobs or Islamofacists’ despots.
