  1. Via Betsy’s Page, here’s what Democratic Congressman Paul Jankorski said last October about Florida Governor Rick Scott, a Republican:

“Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to take him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him.”

As SDA commenter Peter O’Donnell put it,

I can see the hypocrisy from my house.

  2. February 2, 2011, a special day!
This coming year, on Feb 2, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address occur on the same day.
It is an ironic juxtaposition of events: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication while the other involves a groundhog.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is -fund raising- off Gabrielle Giffords’ head wound and six dead bodies.
    I kid you not.

  4. Further to Boots’ posting of the Fatah-Miller audio clip, here’s the same thing with annotations that accurately illustrate Fatah’s malevolence from this past weekend.
Make no mistake, folks, he absolutely does hate Sarah Palin first and foremost but every SDA regular is a close second. Like all bullies, he hides his true self when confronted by an equal or greater opponent, but he showed his true colours on his Facebook fan page a few days ago!

  5. Posted this in the wrong thread instead of this one by mistake…
EBD, from the link you provided, I agree with the sentiments expressed. Inflammatory rhetoric from the left is often played down in MSM. Simply put, it’s because no flags go up, no feathers are ruffled because what’s said is agreeable to them. Their omissions say just as much about them as their slants.
The current spin is more about the 2012 election and the uncertainty MSM has about Democratic fortunes, made more urgent in their minds as a result of last November’s mid term. Considering that they oversold Obama, they will be hard-pressed to explain why a man they so lionized turned out to be the first one-term president in 30 years, and they will have to do this without further damage to their credibility. Good luck with that one.
The coverage of this story has shades of CBS’s Bush military service record fiasco. Don’t wait for the facts. Engage in speculation and hyperbole. See what damage we can do.
Far be it from me to suggest that they change their ways. I hope they don’t. I hope they continue down the path they’re on. The best part this time around is it won’t be just CBS that will wears the backlash, it’ll be the whole lot of them.

  6. Egypt and Copts ……again

  11. Toronto Police Officer Killed After Stoelne Snowplow Chase
    http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/01/12/toronto-officer-hit-by-stolen-vehicle-in-serious-condition-reports/
Listening to AM640 Toronto, some of the callers have speculated on mental illness being a contributing factor in the officer’s murder, attempting to support their claims from reports that indicate the suspect who was behind the wheel of the snowplow was barefooted when taken into police custody. Made even more bizarre considering that we got about 10 cms of fresh snow overnight.
I don’t think mental illness is to blame. Certainly I don’t believe it’s the primary reason he went on a vehicular rampage. I believe the Liberal Party is to blame. They have been racheting up the rhetoric recently in their opposition to the gov’t’s funding of new prisons. Clearly this criminal thug took his queues from the Liberals and had it in for someone in the law enforcement community as a result of their outspoken opposition to the gov‘t’s law and order agenda.
They oppose jails and a cop is killed? There’s the smoking gun that implicates the Liberals right there!
I knew this day would come. I knew the Liberals would eventually push someone over the edge. They have blood all over their hands. Mr. Ignatieff should formerly apologize to the officer’s family and publicly denounce the polarizing rhetoric that comes from members in his own ranks, namely Mark Holland. And then he needs to stop opposing the gov’t and get on board with their agenda. Otherwise tragic events such as that which took this officer’s life is most certain to repeat itself.

  12. “New York Democratic Congresswoman Louise Slaughter “suggested the Federal Communications Commission was ‘not working anymore,’ adding she would look at ways to better police language on the airwaves.”

  13. ‘Great post, Jon. I couldn’t agree more, and thanks for the laugh!! (But watch for words like “cue” and “formally”: spell check won’t pick up homonyms.)
I’m feeling heartsick about the officer.

  15. Sarah Palin just fired off another shot heard around America and the repercussions that you hear are the leftard heads exploding en masse.
Her address to America regarding the Arizona shootings will have the Democrats shaking in their boots for the next two years, and we can all watch it happening in the MSM. They can’t vilify this woman anymore>

  16. Antenor about Sarah Palin: “They can’t vilify this woman anymore.” Well, they shouldn’t, but do you really think they won’t?
A wounded animal is often at its most dangerous, and will stike out even more viciously.
I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the vilification of Sarah Palin by a long shot.

    “The spy who turned green”
““Calls for inquiry into conduct of undercover police officer,” headlines the Guardian, following the 10 January revelations that PC Mark Kennedy, a Metropolitan police officer, lived deep undercover at the heart of the environmental protest movement. From 2003 to 2010, Kennedy “used a fake passport to travel to 22 different countries while posing as a campaigner, earning the trust of activists and feeding back intelligence to his commanders.” The officer, however, “keen for redemption”, has quit the Met and helped free six campaigners facing trial for conspiring to invade a power station near Nottingham by revealing his true identity. In a further development, Scotland Yard is now under pressure to explain “whether it had authorised an undercover officer to have sexual relationships with environmental activists after a woman came forward to say she felt violated,” the Guardian reports.”

It was almost too easy to predict that CC’s girth would be the main line of fire for the Left. That said, I’ve commented here that appearance and health ARE fair game; but, individuals must prioritize the yard sticks they measure their candidates with. Apples being apples, I personally would prefer a candidate in good shape for a number of reasons. That said, that preference is very, very low on my list of priorities for a candidate.
