If there are fewer travelers from the middle east that will make my air travel a lot more pleasant. Nothing annoyed me more in my travels than to see some 80 year old silver haired grandmother undergo much closer scrutiny and security check than a Muslim woman(?) in a beekeeper costume.
I do like spiders, and I have liked most of the Muslims I have met. Some spiders are dangerous, however …

This warning from the IRI is simply ‘code’ for: ‘The Jihad has met resistance in Canada, abort, abort, abort!!!’
If true, this is good news.

This sort of propaganda very common in Islamic countries, painting the West as a dangerous, intolerant, immoral, & scary place, especially for women.
A couple years ago had a Libyan acquaintance ask with great concern if she may be treated badly when visiting the US for the first time on an upcoming business/vacation trip.
Although speaking flawless English, being very well educated, and having traveled much throughout Europe and the Middle East, she still had some real odd almost laughable preconceived notions of the US. Told her as long as she didn’t take up wearing a tent and shouting “infidel!” or “Allah Akbar!” everywhere there would be nothing to worry about.
After the trip she enthusiastically admitted to having the time of her life & looked forward to the next trip.
btw, at the time I was also surprised to find out it was a common thing to portray the US & even Canada as having an epidemic of rape. Ironic isn’t it?
And this is an issue? Bring on the dancin’ girls!

Yes. It is one of the reasons. A lots of educated Iranians do emigrate because there are no jobs and most of the Iranians who emigrate hate Ahmadinejad. The “brain-drain” in Iran is really bad

Also, according to many, women in the West do not have the rights women got in Islam, we are treated like whores and we are exploited by men. We are really poor little things who should be pitied and should revert (change our faith) immediately…..for our own good.!!
Actually, ella, if you look at the facts, more women are raped per capita in Canada than in most other developed nations. I posted the figures back in the “legalize prostitution” debate, and I’m too lazy to go back and get them, but IIRC, something like 5 to 15 times as many women in Canada are raped compared to countries like Germany, Netherlands, and Italy (I chose countries where prostitution was either legalized or not prosecuted by police). And I specifically chose these countries because they are Western, educated, rich, and women are not likely to under report rape as they might be in, say, Iran. Even in the US, rape figures are half what are they in Canada (although I suspect under reporting occurs in the US as well).
I’m not at all proud of this, but it’s a fact.
If increasing the tax base is the reason for high immigration numbers, I’d be willing to pay more if only to be able to say Merry Christmas.
