Water parks are for children. They splash, play, go down water slides backwards, pee in the pool. They have fun. Closing down a water park for no other reason than it is “impure” is as stupid as Puritans banning Christmas. Yes, I realise it was “politically incorrect” of me to call a cultural practice stupid and defend Christmas but, really, if something is emotionally retarded, it should be called as such.
Even if someone doesn’t want to defend Israel (and I think they should) or interfere with the Palestinian individual or national destiny, they very least someone can do is call a spade a spade. In this case, call the Palestinians on their bat—- craziness and refuse to back or pity them for any reason.

You could also do a bit of research…it is not uncommon for the borders of certain neighborhoods to be patrolled by police, looking for anyone who crosses the line…such neighborhoods receive less funding for education and extra-curricular activities…they are flooded by drugs…and if you know ANYTHING about the realities of the US ‘war on drugs’ you’ll know that it ain’t homegrown drugs.
Are you willing to state that you would have equal opportunities as a resident of a ghetto as you would outside? That you would not be subject to any oppressive actions by the state, that do not exist outside of these neighborhoods.

Not at all. People who live in “ghettos” for any length of time tend to be deeply disfunctional; hardly the people to be raising well-adjusted kids. And the thing about people who live in poverty is that – take a deep breath – They. Are. Poor. Which means fewer opportunities sort of by definition.

Maybe you haven’t thought about the difference between the expressions “oppressed” and “messed up”. If these people are “oppressed”, BTJ, like, say, slaves were oppressed in the antebellum South, then I wonder if you’ve ever asked yourself who’s making money off them?
