2010: Party Like It’s 1773

Election day blogging from Professor Jacobson;

We have a Live Event going on (right now and through the night) similar to what we did last January for the Scott Brown election. We have hundreds of readers reporting from their districts and states on a live feed, as well as some public Twitter feeds. It’s a great way for people to get not just the big national results but also the results from congressional districts and states as the results roll in in real time, basically an Army of blog readers.

I also recommend you check in at The Corner from time to time.
SDA has teamed up with PBS Newshour this evening. Coverage begins in a few hours.

  1. I’m heading to my daughter’s basketball practice, then I’m racing home to watch MSNBC. I’ve got my raincoat, goggles and I’m ready for liberal heads exploding!!!!

  2. It will be interesting to see what Jacobson and his blog-centric approach yields.

  3. Let me be the FIRST to say that “Surprise” GOP victories that give the GOP a majority in the Senate will be the result of abysmal Democrat voter turn-out numbers.

  4. I woulda spent my money on beer but I don’t like beer and the Boy Scout popcorn that I did spend money on hasn’t shown up yet. So I’m going with Jim Beam and chili-covered tortilla chips.

  5. chili-covered tortilla chips

    Sounds great.
I might try that too if I remember to get some chili during my beer run.
Too late to make any chili from scratch, I’ve got a case of Stag for my emergency supplies but really hot spices can be problematic lately.
I did buy some premium tequila just for the occasion.

The point of watching the election on Democrat sites is so one can savour the Shock and Awe.
Bitter Liberal tears are sweet, sweet, sweet!

So it was not imagination, PBS has been improving lately.

  8. analogy:
remember those old RAID bugspray commercials where all those bugs were partying and whooping it up,…then a door slams open and a big mean can of RAID enters spraying and when the aerosol clears all that’s left are these little gravestones?
That’s why I going to be flipping through Democrat sites this evening, to watch that sort of contrast in mood* occur.
    It’s going to be superlative.
*not necessarily the cagey current mood but the smug smarmy mood I remember them to have had on January 20, 2009.

  9. I’m a sucker for love, Wang Chung wrote (sing with me in your mind):
    Darlin’, I believe in love
    Since I met you, baby
    I believe in love
    The way you hold me
    My heart is stirred
    You can control me
    Without a word
    Chorus:
    Turn on you white light
    In my open eyes
    Oh girl, you hypnotize me
    I feel your white light
    You’re so bright
    I’m hypnotized
And as you’re looking at me
    It’s a deep ecstasy
    And no word is enough
Just shine the light in my eyes
    And hypnotize me love
    Darlin’, I believe in love
    In this hate-ridden world
    I believe in love
    Do you know the power
    You have over me
    Use it every hour
    Shine the light on me
    Repeat chorus
Turn me on (with your love)
Turn me on (with your love)
Turn your light around to mesmerise me
    Turn me on, oo-oh
Just shine the light in my eyes
    And hypnotize me love
Just shine the light in my eyes
    And hypnotize me love

  10. there’s a nice interactive map on the Fox news website that’s updating as it goes along.

  11. Hey,cbc covering the election in-depth too! I’m sure y’all will want to tune in. I just want to see Fat Ed Shultz’s eyes fly out of their sockets just before his head blows up.

  12. It’s going to be a most enjoyable evening watching the tsunami hit the donkeys. The only disappointment for me is that I’m not yet eligible to vote here myself – I’d have loved to actually contribute to the tossing out of some of the losers.

  13. Curious, digital cameras are so ubiquitous now that it’s hard to find anyone not carrying one. The new mini Canon does 10x zoom, HD video and slow motion. It’s on the list, does anyone want to buy my SD970 IS?

  14. 1st off, Thank You Kate, for your tremendous and un-dying support and coverage of American Politics, I Love Ya, of course ya already knew that, 🙂
OK, just pulled the lever for straight Republican and voted No on Prop 5 and 9, Yes on all the rest. Mt. Olive, Louisiana.
    God Bless My Canadian Comrades.
as far as MSNBC, I just checked, they are running a special about Wild Tamed Big Cats attacking pumpkins, dooooh !!!

LOL!! Tune in three weeks from now for news of the election results.

  16. I hope middle America gets out to note. This time its Americans against foreign anti American invaders and their enablers. If they let the illegal alien vote stand without scrutiny, next election your vote will be meaningless.
First act of a tea bag congress – make all illegals go through the immigration process and deport those who refuse. Item #2 Indict SPLC on treason charges.

  17. Just saw an asshat named Chris Hedges, on the Ceeb, call the Tea Party, a ‘fascist’ movement, a lunatic element taking over the GOP.
Where does the CeeB find these mental midgets, in their coffee room?

  18. CNN keeps telling us the projected winners on little information. I’m reminded of Second City and Earl Camembert calling the winner and getting it wrong during the Mellonville elections.

  19. @PiperPaul
We’re a die hard Republican area. Not much chance of problems.
JVC Everio does the trick and has YT upload ability. Broadband wireless antennae and laptop and you’re good to go. 🙂

  20. Ahhhh, Nancy airhead Pelosi is no longer Speaker, what a shame.
Never has there been such an unqualified and inept Speaker, good riddance, may she ‘enjoy’ being on the outside, looking in.
